I think the fact that this girl was there to feel this in the moment was special. There's something about this video that speaks to my soul. Beautiful in every way
This has to be my personal favourite Dr.K video - No Large Crowd , No Foot Stomping , No Key Banging - Just the blissful sound of a Piano and a young lady who is truelly appreciating the experience and soaking in the moment with her silence! Bravo!
My reply was to a comment, since deleted, that was made by a simp who said things about her that he couldn’t possibly have known and were made from a decidedly red-pill perspective. So, no, it did not go over my head. You merely assumed that I was replying to the OP, when in fact I was replying to something entirely different. I agree with the OP. Perhaps next time you’ll ask a question versus just jumping to a conclusion.
She seems like a genuinely nice person that is trying to pick up some technique from him! Her first instinct is not to call B.S. when he says he has been playing for 2 months, but to congratulate him on his talent.
Roy...she is a bit confused and is polite and maybe shocked....he is not an excellent pianist...he is just good. His boogie woigie is FAR from good. I have seen many players here in the States do much better. He is combining Little Richard with Jerry Lee Lewis....not doing justice for either.
I found this out in college when I challenged a guy to a game of racket ball. He had me all over the court and beat me into the ground while never even breaking a sweat.
I am a rock and blues man ... never had no time for this type of music... but this is truly one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Goosebumps everywhere. Magnificent beyond belief 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
A few years back I read something about the classical music community having a chip on their shoulder about Einaudi’s music as it doesn’t fall within some specific parameter. I find myself listening to it often
Mate, I'm a fifty one year old classic rock and punk musician. I have heard many genres and styles in my time, and there are few things that impress me anymore. Bravo, sir. I don't know if those magic transitions and alternate notes, in what I feel must be complex classical scales, are your own work or not, but your playing is masterful.
Sir I bet u never heard the fine genre of Colt Ford's or Moccasin Creek's 'Redneck country hip hop rap', this genre is newly invented by American and taking the world by storm.
I studied Mathematics at a Mathematics university - this is how I felt the first time a met a savant. You can recognize what they are doing, but the speed and ease they do it at is both humbling & breathtaking in the best way possible
I like her because she wasn't being condescending or anything like that. She was just trying to help a supposed beginner who supposedly wanted to learn.
MAN!! can you please record this at home and upload it to spotify*edit: or to RU-vid? This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard in a long time, respect
@@joemarshallamp I only just now saw the shitload of likes on my comment and it actually made me PM brendan on FB with the question. WE NEED THIS IN GOOD QUALITY (and on a tuned piano, cuz especially those high note-keys are reeaaallly messed up) , I hope he reads it and uploads it on youtube/spotify/whatever.. :-D
@@brunowatt9607 hahaaaa brilliant man! hopefully the gears will be in motion now. Cos all I can figure is that Brendan either knows how many people liked video that and doesn't give a toss lol or (I hope) blissfully ignorant over the popularity of that video and his improv piece in it. That shit moved me, this needs to happen 🤣🤣🤣
@@joemarshallamp haha, well let's see If the man replies... Message is sent on messenger but he didnt read it yet, i'll keep u guys posted,, I agree, this needs to happen :-D
I love these videos, but always find them a little bit uncomfortable. Lovely girl. I hope it gets explained to victims afterwards they are being trolled
From what I’ve seen he normally does after he cuts the video. Sometimes you can see past the end of Brendan’s videos on Terry’s channel if it was a duet and his camera rolls longer.
To be fair, she should have realized she was being trolled. How he played requires a deep understanding of music principles. Her constant interest in "what's the piece?", show exactly the state of current classical instrument users: Everything has to be a piece that already exists by someone famous, because people these days learn to play, rather than learn to create. Even with their full knowledge of how to play, they lack the mental capability to create something new.
@@peoplez129 Aye, very good buddy. It's easy to shit on millions of people you dont know and whinge about how things aren't as good as they were in the good old days, but, to be honest with you, it doesn't come across as insightful or deep, it just makes you look like a twat.
I created this RU-vid account in 2005 and have probably watched well over a million videos during this time. This is without a doubt the best video I’ve ever seen. When she puts her hands on her hips and stares at him in astonishment is absolute gold. When she queries him over and over whilst expressing how long she’s played yet she can’t do this is world class entertainment. I’m sure a psychologist could do a 4 year PhD purely based on her reaction and his posting.
95% he does is improv, the boogy he does too. Other boogy players play known rifs and songs, he makes it up as he goes along. Brendan is not the best out there in any genre, but man, he is the king of improv thats for sure.
Well, Brendan, as much as I appreciate your fun, entertaining manner, and your sometimes pranking strangers, it simply doesn't compare to the wave of Awesome that washes over me regarding your Ability and Talent on the keyboard. Your performance and interpretation of this piece is, well, Stunning. Respect.
I think it's stunning when you get used to honky tonk; and then the gent plays something ethereal and truly beautiful, especially practically freeform. He becomes an eagle in a well-flown forest of notes, a biotope of music that he knows like a fish knows the sea.
Could easily be a background score for a movie where the protagonist goes on a flashback of his childhood with winter ice and dead trees in the background... Ok..I am Drunk now.
He said he was making that song up as he went and that makes me sad, because it's one of the best pieces of music I have heard in years. I wish there was a way to get a copy of it.
@@el-xy1tq 1. Yes, you can compare music, even between differents genres. Because music always implies melodies. 2. I can choose the radio I want, but I can't choose the music played in a store or a restaurant. So yes, I'm sometimes forced to listen to music I don't like.
@@GBO76 1. They're completely different styles, and the argument about emotion is subject to opinion. 2. No one made you play music on the radio. You can always use something like Spotify, RU-vid, or anything else. There's no one that is literally *forcing* you to listen to music you don't want to.
It’s brilliant as he holds her basic structure, then builds his own around her composition. She can recognise her piece in there and hopefully see the potential it has. Either that or he’s ruined her
I find myself coming back to this one alot. I don't no what it is about this song. But it's like I heard it before in another life. I would like to hear Brendon play the hole song.
Seriously man, please record this, and more like this, if only for RU-vid. I am struggling to find piano music like this. This is bright and beautiful.
That was a beautiful piece of music...such flow and feeling. As a guitar player, I must admit the piano is the best, most beautiful, instrument to listen to.
I was so expecting him to drop off and do a slow diminuendo, hold a note for a measure then suddenly rip into boogie-woogie! Actually pleasantly surprised it didn't happen! Good thing you found middle C then! 😁
I want a recorded track of this just as background. Good lord this has to be one of the most hauntingly beautiful compositions ive ever heard in my life
Link device to amplifier and use tape loop function connected to PC line in or Learn how to grab audio direct from PC with recording software. How do you not know that...?
She looks so kind and gentle. I think she was too polite to say she had cottoned on to the prank. I could see by her eyes that she was so into the music, it was so lovely to see that. It’s rare these days for people to be able to stop their lives for a moment and completely indulge themselves in the music they are hearing or playing. Well done to both of you.
That is so sexist! How dare you say that person is just good for breeding! Plus, you’re totally gender assuming they’re a biological female. My eyes are bleeding!!! 😭
It's 12:30am, the lights are out in the room here ... i just want my last memory of today to be the specialness that is this video. Thank you again to Dr. K. and happy holidays to you and yours
@@sayan1667 She has the body language of a person who realizes they are probably being lied to. She applauds quite enthusiastically at the end, despite the fact that he's being deceiptful.
As a semi professional pianist of more than 30 years let me tell you that there is no way that Dr K could be seen as a beginner. Just his “touch” on the keys and the key change at the start of his piece gave him away like a candle in a darkened room. She just went along for the ride ...
Your soft heartfelt playing is some of the best I've ever heard. I know it's asking a lot but one day if you haven't already please release some type of album with Just this type of playing I know you're basically otherworldly at the Boogie Woogie. still I sit in amazement and well tears when I listen to you play soft and heart felt.
got to admit, when i clicked this video i was expecting another boogie woogie, and was thinking...man it's good its impressive but we've seen boogie woogie 1000 times what about some change? this is beautiful. its just pure and incredible... thanks for this video Brendan! :)
Edit: Keep doing Boogie woogie tho, it's incredibly entertaining and stuff but like this for a change is amazing :D (didn't wanna come off like i didn't appreciate the music i love it all whatchu do!)
What a freaking amazing talented man he is. He’s so sooo soooo fun and brilliant. Great personality, PHD, and a master on that piano. Thank you sir-your the real deal 💯👍💯
This is my favourite Brendan she is shocked but she is soooo angry that you played the piece of music she can’t play. And then she excepts that it’s just wonderful to stand and listen to it
For those wondering what piece he plays, it's his own inspired by what sounds like Einaudi "Nuvole Bianche" or "Divenire". The girl asks how long he's been playing that, and the response is "two months" by which he meant, two months on this piece. Not two months playing the piano.
you introduced me to one of the most beautiful pieces of music i have ever encountered , four dimensions from elements , has me in floods every time , its so beautiful
Try Guilty crown - My dearest Piano cover. That's just 10/10 imho. But then again, lots of awesome Japanese anime songs are like that haha. It's their favorite instrument nonetheless.
