I really appreciate you discussing the best use case for these tires. I pulled the trigger on these because that’s exactly the kind of long term usage my Crosstrek gets. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the update!! I have heard very similar feedback on the wear! My friend in NY said he’ll never buy them again. I think it’s because the 3 peak rating they’re probably a softer rubber compound and wear out more quickly… I need to do an update on my Atturo Trail Blade XTs soon!!

We just installed these on our 2023 Subaru Forester Sport. I can't live with boring stock road tires on an SUV. We go camping quite often so we prefer a little extra traction on the dirt, sand, and rocky trails. Drive on!

Wild peaks AT3W awesome tire. Great in rain, snow, and mud. You can see the wide voids towards the outer tread, and it easily evacuates mud, once you get up to speed. K02’s not good in rain. Especially after they age. So in AZ. they will most likely lose wet traction sooner. I’ve had my Wildpeaks AT3W’s for several months. Big thumbs up. TOYO AT3’s are a good choice. However Passenger rated is only 2 ply. So sidewall punctures are more susceptible. Thank you for your review. Because I did consider the Trails. Stay positive, and hope to run into you on a trail as well.

Thanks for the review. Im thinking about picking up a set. I have a Forester, i wouldnt mind taking it on a hunting trip once a month or so. Not really offroading, just dirt roads with some potentially sharp rocks and a few inclines/ up hills. I just want something with a tad more aggressive tread, and a bit thickier side walls.

Thanks for the update. Sad thing is I just got em 2 weeks ago & somehow the extra weight causing gpm going down I missed. Main reason I got em is cause I live on a dirt road with bricks & partial cinder blocks sticking up. Just hoping these last me a bit over 3 years here in NC. Besides that I'm really liking them & actually surprised at how well they handle.

I’m pushing 40k on them now and they are holding up pretty well. Have about 40% tread left. 65k seems like a pretty accurate mileage range for these.

I've been running Continental TerainContact AT for the last 4 years and 50,000 miles. I am getting another set at Discount Tire this month. They are great for mild trails in west Texas and New Mexico. They are worth considering.

I’m considering the Trails only because we live in north central WA state. We get 4-5 ft of snow every winter. We Don’t do any off roading. It’s my wife’s Outback and she uses it for commuting. We also use the Outback for road trips to MT, Spokane or Seattle and occasionally to ID. We’re simply looking for an all year tire.

I've been running them on my forester since they first came out, and I really liked them, though, I also noticed that when the trails were ever so slightly muddy, it'd be like driving on ice, definitely did not inspire confidence in the NC mountains. Recently got the chance to try out the geolanders after i traded my car in for one of the wilderness trims, and drove through some of the same slightly muddy spots, and it was like driving on tracks compared to the wildpeak trails. But when I go for new tires, I'm probably going to go for the wildpeak at3ws. I'd like to go for the 235/65r17 size, but they are suspiciously lightweight compared to the other sizes, even being 2 pounds lighter than the 225/65r17 size.
@timothydooley1550
@timothydooley1550 Год назад
How many miles did you have on the AT trails when driving in the mud compared to the Geolanders? Also what year was your Forester? I ask this because the Wilderness is geared differently and has different tech.... Which Wilderness did you get? Forester or OB? Because I have heard completely different things... The people with OBW's who switched from Geolanders to the AT Trails love the Trails way more. I'm curious....
@JDS-Dalton
@JDS-Dalton Год назад
@@timothydooley1550 so I wanna say both were around 1000 miles or so on one of the trails which is just a smooth dirt road that was damp. The other time was different trails, but similar conditions, still around 1000 for the geolanders but probably closer to 4k on the wildpeaks. I also was driving a '19 forester sport so same AWD system as my current '22 forester wilderness, just without the tuned transmission and regeared rear diff, but that wouldn't change anything as a they weren't technical trails as cars regularly drive down said "trails" lol, it was simply an issue of not having as much traction with the Wildpeaks. That being said, I did nix the geolanders and replaced them with larger Nitto Nomads.
@JDS-Dalton
@JDS-Dalton Год назад
@@timothydooley1550 that being said, the wildpeaks were pretty good in all other conditions I had them in, it was just when things got wet out on the trails that I didn't like them

I just got myself some Nitto Nomad Grappler. It appears to be slightly more aggressive. Hopefully they will be better than the Falken's Wildpeak AT Trail.

Our Outback never goes off road, but we get 5-6 ft of snow every winter and have to put our Subie into X mode just to get up our private road and into our garage.

Good video but I dont know exactly why you don't like them. Maybe the heat wears them faster? I've have them on my Crosstrek and love them. I have 35k on them.... They are awesome in the snow, good on the the sand and great on logging roads. I would say not so great in the mud but what really is besides MT's. You can't compare them to a traditional AT tire like Falken AT3W or BFG Allterrains. Those tires are in a different class. They are also way heavier than the F WP AT Trails. These tires are made for Crossovers. They are also way better than Geolanders that come on the Subie Wilderness's. What else can you compares them too. There's only a few true Crossover AT tires out there. So what tire did you decide to go with?
@realrigsrattle8829
@realrigsrattle8829 Год назад
They are still on the vehicle. The tread wear seems to have slowed down and they’ve still been durable. You really can’t beat the look of the sidewall either. Ultimately the size I chose was too heavy for its capability, but there was nothing else on the market in my size at the time of purchase. I should have a new 3 year video up soon better explaining my decisions.

How are these compared to maybe the Firestone Destination AT? Road noise? Road noise after 20,000 miles?
@realrigsrattle8829
@realrigsrattle8829 Год назад
I have no personal experience with the Destination AT but the Destination is less of an all terrain tire than these. However I’ve had no additional noise and I’m closing in on 35k on the Wildpeak.

Dynapro Xtreme is what is changed them out for! I did a day in the snow last month and had zero traction issues. Snow was older and about 10 inches. They’ve drastically improved my fuel economy. Averaging 21 mpg now.
