A soul cairn episode would be very cool though given the extreme size and difficult unforgiving land as well as all of the information we still don't know about the soul cairn I'd imagine it will be very hard to do a curating curiosities on
Holla die Waldfee! I wanted to watch critical role, but then I see a camel work *_* Perfect Sunday Evening. Gonna snuggle in ma bed enjoying your video. Thanks man! You are awesome! (Falkreath was always my favorite town, since it's sigil is so close to my federal countries banner. 🦌) Edit: I see what you did there ^^ rabbits (hares) hastily hopp through the hedges.🐰
My husband is having quintuple bypass open heart surgery today. I couldn’t bring myself to pick up a controller and play so this is absolutely perfect. This is literally helping me not fall apart right now. Thank you so much. Ps- love the dark brotherhood!
I'm ashamed to admit in my rough 1400 hours in skyrim, over multiple consoles and characters, I have not one time even thought to try and look south towards Cyrodil. Seeing the White Gold Tower in the distance is such a treat and I agree, thats what this whole series is about.
question if the screen is upside down would it still be south of the video of course it is the direction wouldnt change bc you look at it differently just seeing whos paying attention
afaik the entire map of Tamriel is in the game, albeit in very low quality. You can even see red mountain. And with a bit of console command magic you can leave the map proper and fly around the area.
@@HappyBeezerStudios maybe they use the same landscape model from Daggerfall (or Arena, don't remember which let you explore the whole continent), then made the scenario for a game and limit the other countries. I know you can bypass the invisible walls by console commands.
Skyrim is full of jokes like that,in Pinewatch you can see the place full of bandits and only like 1 uses magic, but that doesent stop Rigel from having a soul gem (that mimics a certain male body party) on her night stand
One thing that could definitely be said of the _lonely fisherman_ was that he knew how to _handle his pole_ and that when setting up his hooks he was a _Master Baiter._ No son, you are not the only perv here --- there are quite a few of us in need of serious therapy on this site. And we wouldn't have it any other way.
I was doing leftover schoolwork while listening to this (damn chem) and my parents walked in on “preform experiments on her fresh untouched corpse, perhaps doing something....dark to her”
53:00 re: the broken sunken boat with the boss chest. I vaguely remember a story about a fisherman that finds a genie bottle while on his boat and wishes for great wealth, which the genie promptly delivers, sinking the boat and drowning the fisherman. Maybe this is similar except when he wished for wealth a boss chest dropped out of the sky breaking and sinking the boat.
I recently started a Khajiit Huntress character. I naturally gravitated to Falkreath. I have to say it is definitely a region I didn't really explore in the past. It's crazy how this 10 year old game keeps showing me new things.
Whats weird for me is that I always think I know Falkreath Hold fairly well, and then I go actually wander around and immediately realize Im familiar with Lake Illinalta only, and rarely venture further into Falkreath than that.
@@dillongage the one reason I don’t like it is purely because of all the surrounding mountains that make B lining to my destination impossible. I like it for its house. Same problem with Markarth and Solitude, great houses but frustrating to navigate majority of their territories. I despise running circles around mountains all day so I just avoid them entirely. Thankfully you made me realize there are still a lot of dungeons in hard to reach places that I’ve never been in. I’ve seen and done everything in the game so it’s gotten kinda stale, but exploring the areas I’ve entirely disregarded will be kinda fun.
If the roaming, firebreathing dragon was Alduin himself, then he wouldn't have eaten the burned corpses, as he feeds on the souls of the dead in Sovngarde. I find it likely that it was he who roamed Falkreath since he was in the area and attacked Helgen during our execution. Thanks for a cool vid :)
Plus before Alduin descends upon Helgen, we hear a few distant roars as the dragon approaches. It could be that the first roar signalled his attack of the caravan
I am 100% positive that doesnt matter at all. Party-snax has been on top of the Throat of the World for atleast 5k years, and no one talks about missing people or burnt corpses. Theres literally zero chance a creature that large could live in the same place for 5k years without people noticing massive amounts of livestock and wild game going missing at some point, and Klimmek isnt carrying 2-3 cows a week up the 7,000 steps, so the Greybeards arent feeding him. The only logical conclusion is that good ol' Party-snax is simply not eating anything at all. I sincerely think Dragons dont need to eat at all. They're clearly not mortals. If they do eat flesh, its either out of enjoyment or because it helps them regain energy more quickly, like drinking a magicka potion, not because they actually need to eat to sustain their bodies.
This was so beautifully shot. The cinematography, the ambience, everything was spot on! This video really reminded me of how much I love Falkreath. Well done!
The puns recited in that serious, BBC documentary narrator voice, played completely straight, without so much as a snicker or a break in tone are really something special 🤣
Good god I just watched a two+ hour video about a single region of Skyrim curiosities. I've been playing Skyrim on and off since the release date where I pre-ordered it, and I never realized they put just so many tiny details into the world. It's fantastic, and I really hope they put as much love into their next game. But I have my doubts after their most recent releases.
I am VERY IMPRESSED by your guides to Skyrim! They are a work of pure art by themselves! Your amazing and lore based descriptions give you the feel that some famous traveler from Cryodil is writing a comprehensive Skyrim guide. Keep up the awesome work!!!!
*Every time I watch a Camelworks/Fudgemuppet video:* "I'm gonna start Skyrim again and explore everything in the video or follow their guide on how to be a good warrior/mage!" *Proceeds to make yet another stealth arcane archer using Bound Bow.*
take a shot every time Camel says some variation of "right here, where my character is currently standing" thanks for the feature length CCC on the best hold, Camel
I've been playing through Skyrim again recently with a lot more of an eye for little things and only halfway doing most of the questlines because of your CCC series tbh, I find this stuff absolutely delightful and I've honestly fallen back in love with the game. These are always so delightful to watch while I'm working on crochet projects and I actually have plans now with a friend to make ES themed items for local fairs. I really love that the White Gold Tower is visible from the edge of skyrim, it makes so much sense and fits perfectly. Lovely as always my dude.
The best part about this hold is Lake Ilinalta, I love everything about the lake and it's honestly a really good name for a kid when you dont want to name them something blatantly Skyrim related
Yes, its about as incognito as naming your kid Skeever or Nirnroot. 😂😂 it is a beautiful name, but anyone whos played Skyrim is going to know immediately, and anyone who hasnt played is going to ask you where you got the name from.
And Knowledge Of Game!. SKYRIM IS A TIMELESS..Classic GAME. just realized that recently. It'll last another 5. 10 years if ES6. Dosent Hold up..but thats a convo for the future....
I always come back to watch this video at LEAST once a year, my favorite area in all of Skyrim and one of my favorite RU-vidrs going over it, just perfect.
I remember ruefully thinking "I guess there's just not enough lore in Falkreath for a CCC on the subject.", like 3 years ago. I'm so impressed with this, I mean this is some serious lore coverage my friend! It would take me like 2wice as long to write that many puns!
Wow, this is amazing. So detailed, professional, beautiful. Falkhreat is the best hold, so gorgeous. Camelworks, you elevated this game to a new hights. Bethesda should hire you to do some special lore video content for their future Elder Scrolls games. This video is brilliant. The amount of effort, hard work that went into this video... Speechless. Everyone should share and promote this guys chanel because this is absolutely amazing.
The more I played and I did the Alternate start the more I came to appreciate Falkreath. I usually do the left for dead start and Falkreath ended up being my favorite place to start out in.
Interesting Fact: If you disable the borders with console commands in Oblivion, you can actually walk a ways into skyrim, and its in Falkreath Hold. If you compare the landscapes visible from Cyrodiil in Oblivion to those at the southern border in Skyrim, they match! Curious little thing that Bethesda payed attention to.
I love these man! Thanks to your CCC series I can vicariously travel back to Skyrim whenever, without having to boot the game up. Even if I did go back, it would be missing the horrible puns!
I literally just logged onto my computer, went on youtube and was going to play some random music while I played a game, saw this video (which I've been waiting for forever) in my recommendations. Instantly clicked, liked, and now I'm watching.
There are a bunch of quests there, like all cities and villages, but not much in the way of quests elsewhere in the hold. Outside of the quests, I spend the least time in The Reach, because why would anyone ever want to go there, it’s a horrible place. Winterhold too, and The Pale, and Hja... actually I pretty much just go to Whiterun, Solitude, Riften and Falkreath unless I am completing quests elsewhere. Falkreath looks nice and I use Lakeview Manor, so I spend a lot of time there.
On a new 2k20 playthrough. Just bought and built my house on falkreath land..feels great. Better than breezhome( you can tell i never finished this game... Ima fIx That !) : )
More dictionaries then the amount of time bgs actually put into their games (they slap stuff together last minute using a very old/outdated engine and ship it as a "new" game and expect some random modder/lore theorist to finish the game for them)
When I was looking for crimson nirnroot Sinderion noted that water from the mushrooms were causing the unique color it's likely the earth mother was doing something similar in order to grow more nirnroot
Camel's narration and wing at dad-jokes is quality and appropriate cheese at the same time. Well done, its hard to get that mix between mystery, intrigue, and facepalming in the right proportions.
rings of plants tend to be a source of fairy magic in mythology, no doubt there was probably some kind of quest there considering the book, skull and staff in there
1:57:18 I've tested this. These locations will only be there as long as you haven't talked to the Jarl of Whiterun about the dragon attack as being part of the main questline. You don't immediately need to go there after leaving Helgen, unless you think you'll later forget to check. The Stormcloak camp was already there.
Siri, where am I? "You are where your character is currently standing." Thanks, that's a relief! I thought I was lost. "Now playing Lost." Stupid Siri! "I didn't understand that."
"Oh hey, Camelworks has uploaded. Alright, sure, I needed a break from work anyway. I'm always down for a quick video from..." *Sees the video is over 2 hours long* "Okaayy, maybe I'll just finish my work first."
I'm pretty sure this is my third time watching this video because Falkreath is my fav hold. The CCC's get me through insane work spreadsheets- so thank you.
I was thinking more along the lines of since the mammoth bones look ancient but there are fresh human kills this was likely the feeding ground of one of the resurrected dragons, his fresh human kills painting his ancient mammoth boneyard a bright red for the first time in 1000s of years
Absolutely loved this, just had it running on second monitor whilst working on the other. Amazing level of detail in a nice easy going voice. Thank You
I can't resist ! I simply must say you are a very puny chap. I have read many statements about how your puns are boring or not liked, You are a great story teller and puns must be part of the story. Thank you for opening my eyes to the big, fallen trees in sSkyrim. I never look in them, I shall start now
Fun fact, there are three contenders for ‘the most common thing for humans to drink.’ Tea, Coffee, and Water. We still cannot determine which of the three is the most popular drink even in any given year.
Thank you Camel. I’ve listened to this the last few days while at my second job and I love it, lol. The puns have me laughing and shaking my head in disbelief that someone would make that joke lol
I’ve been following your progress on this video on Instagram for the past like month, I’d feel bad if I didn’t watch it after seeing all the hard work and dedication you put into it
As someone whose grandparents own some forest in their village (like pretty much most people in the village) you don't go chop lumber right next to your house, it's usually semi deep into a forest, trees near houses or dirt roads are very useful, beneficial to keep - that random stump doesn't seem unusual to me
I'm not an expert but I'm certain that it's easier for the forest to replenish itself if you cut some trees right in the middle than if you clear its edges
Man, this is just top quality content! You are great at storytelling, making the lamest locations sound interesting + the puns are woven in subtly but noticable enough to smirk me awake... ...and it's over 2 hours long!!! You really don't see this kind of quality often
I didn't dislike, but I didnt' like it either so maybe I can try give you the explanation from my point of view. People are in a hurry. When you sit a lot on the computer and play a lot of games every day for years, you get to a point where you start rushing more and more. I am like this. I stopped enjoying story, and rather hurry to end game. I also have the personality I can't watch a movie because it's too much, and I have never read a book in my life. To sum up, I thought this was a new expansion or something from skyrim and I clicked to see stuff like patch notes, changes, new weapons etc but then I was like: wtf is this?, some roleplay shit? That was my thought. I do understand the amount of time and quality this is, and yes it prob is indeed a masterpiece. But this is a thought that some people might have when they click, and combine it with a bad day and bad mood, and he got himself a dislike before they click to next video. Have a nice day :)
@@teipkep so because someone is an idiot and doesn't know the series and think it's too long, they decide to hurt the algorithm? Soooo childish? Got it.
Never seen videos such prolonged, such masterly and lovingly done, thank you so much for such a peaceful aesthetic of the favorite game brought to my life♥
For most people, Falkreath is just that place with a Jarl that likes sending letters, where you go to get Hircine's Ring and Clavicus' mask, and it's next-door to the Dark Brotherhood quest, but only until you're finished.
I have a theory concerning the caravan of cinders. It could have been the aftermath of an assassination by Festus Crex, of the dark brotherhood. Based on location, lack of obvious motive, and the method(Crex was a fan of fire if i remember correctly), thats the most logical solution I can think of.
Love the enthusiasm, but lack of obvious motive and the location would lead me to believe the exact opposite of that. (TL/DR; Festus & Co. Arent that dumb. Dont sh!t where you eat.) The Dark Brotherhood are elite assasins, not hired thugs. Burning a random caravan to the ground for no reason, almost literally in your own backyard, is quite simply the dumbest thing you could ever do as a secret order of assasins. All the facts of the case, scant as they are, basically scream "ANYONE BUT THE DARK BROTHERHOOD". I mean seriously. Its implied Festus was the Master of Destruction at the College of Winterhold before Faralda replaced him. Hes not stupid enough to do something like this. If it had been bloodied and mangled corpses, id say maybe Gabriella had playtime, or Arnbjorn lost control and let rhe beast run wild, but of everyone in the sanctuary, the wise old mage is the least likely to do something that blatantly idiotic, except for the multiple centuries old shadow stalker that is Babette.
I always chalked this one up to a Festus hit as well. He loves to talk about how he goes right up to his victims, introduces himself, then blasts away with the fire magic. As for the other person replying with DB wouldn't do a hit that close to the home base- this is just a random caravan crew. They accepted, and pass on to the dragonborn, a hit on the Jarl of Falkreath's own housecarl, which is likewise very close by and the local government of the hold they are operating within. Astrid was salivating at the idea of taking out the emperor for the fame it would bring. She *is* exactly that stupid and short-sighted to take a hit like this caravan, especially because it's close by and easier to potentially have heard about. Likely a rival merchant or something wanted them dead. And Festus is getting older and laments its getting harder to travel for jobs, so tossing him some easy unsuspecting merchants to make a BBQ of would be just like Astrid to do in the name of "looking out for" her "family". Old dude who is starting to lose stamina gets his fun, it's a short jaunt home, and he'd not be interested in/have the stamina for lugging a bunch of scavenged loot. He got what he wanted via a kill spree.
I'd say that a lack of obvious motive is not a lack of motive overall. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. Just because we as the player are not privy to a sheet of paper that blatantly states that Faustus did it, does not mean that he outright didn't. Until something more concrete comes to light, my opinion remains the same, perhaps bolstered even.
Camel, I remember when this was Skyrim storytelling, and you had such a bad ass awesome intro and your videos were unlike any of the other bandwagon Skyrim channels. Thank you so much for continuing to release this content which is SO thoroughly gone through. Thanks thanks thanks. All the likes, all the subs. Really great content and we are just lucky that you release it to your fans for FREE. Do you take donations? Again... just such high quality content with thoughtful remarks on top of nearly complete coverage. And you have such a good attitude towards your fans and an openness for contributions of ideas. Kudos
