Joel Daggenhart I know right! 😭 I had just left school when this was released... now I’m engaged with my own place and career in the military. God damn I miss the simple life 😂
The fossil of the giant Mudcrab is actually part of a quest. Go to Froki's Shack in The Rift and he gives you a quest called Kyne's Sacred Trials. You have to defeat sacred animal guardians. If the quest is active, you can see the ghost of the guardian mudcrab when you approach the fossil which you have to defeat.
I think Moby the Mammoth is in reference too that one part in star wars when luke cut open an animal to stay warm. Assuming the mammoth didn't eat this person whole how would his whole body be perfectly intact. Skyrim is a cold place and perhaps this guy died huddled up inside it.
@@michaelgoodwin80 Listen, I’m a huge Star Wars fan too, but we all understood what he said. You don’t need to knitpick someone’s comment to give yourself a false sense of intellectual superiority because you “know more” about one of the most popular franchises in the world. He said an animal. I’m pretty sure what he curled up inside was an animal. Unless ya know, you wanna get really knitpicky and say it was a movie prop. And yea, sure it was Han but he used Luke’s saber and everyone was covered up in winter gear. I’m sure after a long time someone could misremember it as being Luke. Point being, don’t be a neckbeard dude
A few minor corrections: The giants do not worship the nine divines. Anything left at the shrines comes from pilgrims. For example, the speech skill book, the rolls of paper and the gold at the shrine of Zenithar are sacrifices to invoke Zenithar's guidance, as he is the divine of traders, bards and merchants. Also, the dragon dropped guard is the guard that gets dropped by Odahviing from the balcony of Dragonsreach when you summon him during the main quest line.
@@universalstudios2190 it's a random encounter, so you just have to walk around the map past certain hot-spots and the farmer and his cow might be there
I believe that due to the location of Cradlecrush Rock, The City of Vivec, and Sleeping Tree Camp, the rock fell from the floating island of Umbriel as it travelled from Vivec towards its destination. The line between Vivec, Cradlecrush Rock, and Sleeping Tree Camp is a little too straight to just be a coincidence.
The cow at Candlecrush Rock can be seen with a farmer sometimes on the roads. If you talk to him, he says he is making a peaceful offering to the giant. I suppose this is to keep peace. How curious...
Seymour The Argonian And if you actually follow him you'll see a giant smashing the ---- out of the farmer and keeping the cow for himself... How curious...
+TheDarksoul01 Take the fork and the knife and put Namira's ring make them legendary so u can do more damage aaaand chase people and kill them and Namira watches u :)
The horse found at the skooma addicts smuggler's den just below Whiterun has become one of my favorite 'mapping tools' early in a new character run...if you steal it, you can ride it into many towns and cities and it doesn't appear as stolen to anyone. Also, if you dismount, it will return back to Whiterun, but at a walk, so you can easily sprint to re-mount it. Love your series, I subbed a few days ago and have been consuming every video you've got; many smiles and guffaws ever since!
In the "Kyne's Sacred Trials" quest, given you by an hunter, you have to kill various "Guardian Beasts" all over Skyrim, they appear as ghosts and one of the guardian is exactly the spirit of the Fossilized Giant Mudcrab found in that exact spot (8:05).
It took me three years to notice the skeleton in the pond around Dragonsreach. Spooked the shit out of me after I'd gone on a Whiterun murder spree only to find that fellow bobbin' around. I did happen across something in my most recent playthrough you might be interested in though! If you check the table where that lady you can fight and recruit as a follower sit's at the Bannered Mare there's a note from Maven Black-Briar to a competitor or possibly an ex lover??? It mentions her and the man fighting over something or another only sorta vaguely hinted at, that she supposedly is over it (yea sure lady) and will be sending an escort to pick him up that night..... My headcanon/theory is Maven don't take no sass and he's the unfortunate skeleman taking an eternal swim in the Dragonsreach pond.

Fought Karstaag. Had Vilkas. Vilkas tried to be bad ass. Got sent to space. 30 seconds after I beat Karstaag Vilkas walked through the door. He was so much help.
+Camelworks 16:16 Maybe it's vanished because of the Lund's wife couldn't go to Sovngard without Lund. And she came to his dream and then he killed himself. But he loved skewers so much and because of that he too couldn't go to Sovngard. So maybe that's why the hat vanished. It was the meaning of the Lund's wife can't go to Sovngard
+Camelworks SORRY FOR DA SECOND COMMENT BUT THE MARKINGS ON THE COW SHOW ITS AN OFFERING...(sorry caps) a random encounter i got was a man and a cow like that taking it to the giants so they left them alone...they said i could not come along
I love this series so much. And as for the 4th skeleton amongst the dead conjurers, skeletons and graves- I like to think that the 4th skeleton belong to some sort of bounty hunter, or sellsword who set out to try and hunt down and kill the conjurers. Needless to say, he did not get very far, and his body was simply chucked "behind the bushes" so to say.
Nah, the conjurors still had flesh. Whoever it was died long ago. Best guess I have is that the graves might have contained more than one person per plot. Something that isn’t totally unheard of, especially near battlegrounds.
27:16 That cow it's not the only one with the tribal painting, it's a random encounter, but you can find a guy walking with an alive cow painted like that and if you talk to him he will say that the cow is an offering for the giants. The cool thing is that he could be or not be killed by the giant upon offering the cow, that's random too.
Someone may have already said this but for the last curiosity, it may have come from the Red Mountain erupting, judging by the direction the trees are facing the rock came form the East, hence Morrowind.
I have a theory for the knife and fork.A man was having dinner on the bridge when the Greybeards called for the dragonborn.Upon their calling, the bridge shook and threw the knife and fork onto the rock. The man you ask,was thrown into Imperial City
18:40 These ruins are most likely the last remnants of Nimalten City (look up "Skyrim map in TES: Arena"). There are actually ruins (albeit mostly just some deteriorated pillars and blocks) in many places in TES:V which were locations in the "Arena" game. I guess this would be an idea for a video to show and visit these locations. I believe there is even a mod which puts markers on them.
I just found out your channel and I have to say that this series is really well made. I also have to mention this catchy name, just wonderful job, keep it up.
They way you are talking about these curiosities is very enjoyable, at least for me :) Naturally you have deserved my subscribe :) Have fun in your creativeness and good luck in your future endeavors.
27:28 You sometimes encounter a farmer with a cow painted like the cow in the giant's camp. He tells you he would sometimes sacrifice cows to the giant's, so they don't rob and kill all of his animals. He paints the cows he gives to them so that the giants can tell the difference between the animals and understand that only the painted cows are gifts.
As always a gewat and informative video. I played Skyrim for 500+ hours and keep learning new things becuase of you. Thanks for that and i hope you keep making your videos so great.
I believe the those shrine we place by merchants before entering the city to do business. Since Whiterun is the center for trade and Zeninthar is the patron of commerce and wealth.
My good god man you are hilarious, most times I'm impressed by a video making me laugh stupidly once... You had me laughing like a moron a good 10+ times. (Must be the Aussie genes) STRAYA!
You really deserve more Subscribers/Viewers its unbelivable how much work this takes. You are by far the best RU-vidr if found in a looong time! :) Keep up the good work.
I feel that "moby the mammoth" could be a star wars reference too, when Luke Skywalker sleeps inside a tauntaun as the skeleton is whole (rather than being in pieces, i dont think a mammoth could swallow a human or elf) and looks like its sleeping. Maybe someone tried to use a mammoth carcass to keep warm .... but it didnt work? lol Thanks for the video! :)
Great vid! So many things in Whiterun hold to think about and use your imagination to figure out what happened. Once more, excellent work on the vid and hope you're doing good.
TheFlygonproductions Thank you very much my good friend! I am doing well but my computer got hit with a huge electrical surge and has put Camelworks out of action for awhile
I disagree with Mobi the mamoth simply because a mamonth cant swallow a human it must chew it first and we can see a whole intact skeleton inside him so I believe it was put there after the mamoth was dead OR maybe someone tried to hide in the carcass of a dead mamoth to shelter from a snowstorm or very cold weather but unfortunately he or she died because of the cold. PS I love the serie!
It's been awhile, but I think the giant mudcrab is part of a quest from the hunter Froki in the Rift (if you remember the little kid Hamming from Helgen whose dad got roasted by Alduin, Hamming is Froki's grandson.)
In the last curiosity the rock might have been what is called a dead fall trap. That is where something very heavy is proped up with a trigger to release the weight with bait on the trigger
Wrong kind of stone. However, it could have fallen from something like a floating island that might have dropped a spore that grew a crazy tree in Whiterun.
I'm pretty certain the rock in Cradlecrush Rock was from the eruption of the Red Mountain in 4E 5. That's where we got the Sleeping Tree Camp from, which is also a giant's camp. I think the trees are in the right place as well.
Really loving all your lore and Curiousities and the equipment vids! better insight than most others as well! Loving these chill tracks too, any chance you can direct us to find your source of the music?
Dusk Renard Thank you mate! I am glad you are enjoying the content :) All of the music is music I have written and produced myself. At some point in the future my album will be complete and I will upload it to this channel for free listening :) And thank you it is good to hear people enjoying the music !
That cow with the paint markings I've met a farmer who walks on a road with a cow just like that in white run. When you talk to him he says he's bringing the cow as a offering to a giant camp. It's been a tradition or something
I literally go to your video list and click play on any video. While in in hews bane in eso grinding materials ahaha. Literally makes the grind so much better listening to mysteries of skyrim. Thanks man :)
27:19, Those cows are sacrificial cows villagers bring to the giants in exchange for peace. While wandering about, you will occasionally come across a farmer walking a live painted cow. When you ask him about the cow, he tells you it's an offering to the giants, and is how they maintain an uneasy peace with the giants. I've usually encountered him by Rorikstead or East Southeast of Whiterun along the road past the brewery.
I think the rock might me to do with the civil war.. One of the skeletons is wearing the scaled helmet, which is a common piece of armor within the stormcloaks. The rock might've been launched by a catapult.
The Skeleton in the water under the Dragonreach bridge has a simple in game explination. One of the various letters and notes inMaven Black-Briar's rooms indicates she had someone killed and the body disposed of there.
Um take humans and compare their sizes relatively to the proportions of the rock and giant now what if you had a rock the same size as the bolder to a human would a group of humans be able to throw it
***** it wasnt a group of peole, its only one person that got smashed, you can see that there is 2 legs in the back and the rest of the guys is in the front, its supposed to be humoristic
The Candlecrush Rock is a "flyttblock" or, "jättekast" in old Nordic mythology. When the ice of the ice age melted, it left behind huge rocks scatterd around the country side. The old nords believed they were thrown by angry giants(jättar). Greetings from Sweden
Some of these I haven found yet after at least 500 hours :) And that compass thing, I'm from *Scandinavia* and we have them in the forest's. They are usually placed where someones lands end and they are placed so you can figure out the direction. I see them when I hunt and they come in handy as landmarks :) Some of them are indeed very old!!
My guess for how the alchemist ended up there- he went to the Giants camp in hopes of getting Giant toes but realized the Giants were to hard to kill and ran from them but was not fast enough and was launched but one of the Giants and landed on the rocked
There are 2 different dead alchemists, if you recall. Storm edits is talking about the one on the rock below the waterfall. I think lillildipsy blank is talking about the one at the giant's feet at Cradlecrush Rock. A very minor mixup, no need for name calling.
Painted cow: a random encounter that you can come across on the road is a farmer with a painted cow. If you talk to him he explains that he's delivering the cow to the Giants. When you ask about the markings he explains that the cow is painted to signify to the Giants that the cow is an offering so they won't attack his livestock for the rest of the year.
At a little past the 27 min mark you mention a cow with giant tribal markings. That is not the only cow with tribal markings. Somewhere in the Whiterun I encountered a farmer guiding a cow with tribal markings to be a sacrifice to the giants. I believe if you follow him, both him and the cow are killed by giants. Great video!
