Fall 2024 Fashion Trends NEW THIS SEASON
Following fashion trends is always fun for me but sometimes a new trend pops up almost out of nowhere. Some of these trends are driven by street style and some are . . . well . . . just driven by demand. So today I wanted to shine a light on some new Fall Fashion Trends that I didn't see coming but I think are worth knowing about. As always I like to feature on some of the trends that I feel are not only fun and modern but are also practical too. Although, I'm sure plenty of you will argue that the last trend in today's video isn't exactly practical but nevertheless I still think it deserves its time in the spotlight.

The barn coat is what I consider an old lady coat! I am old so maybe a young person can pull it off. I’m not really liking the direction of fashion right now. If you live long enough you see it all coming around. Never doing socks and shoes it’s ridiculous! Most of this isn’t going to suit!😉I always enjoy your videos 🦋

The barn coat....I agree maybe a young person could carry it off but still, why???? I'm old too (59) and certainly won't be wearing a barn coat. I lived on a farm and spent a lot of time at my grandparents farm growing up as well. I remember my grandmother always wore a barn coat to do chores like milking cows and feeding chickens. If she was here today, I am sure she would be laughing at the barn coat trend.

Loved all these trends! I have most of them. I do not think I can pull off socks with slingbacks. That is definitely a very young look. I am goid with funky but I have to be a little careful at 62. I am lucky because all my friends get a kick out of my outfits and then they say if anyone can pull that off, you can because you are an artist. Lol

I'm all about the socks with all shoes this year! Socks with Crocs is more my speed these days, but just ordered some leopard print socks to spice things up. Not crazy about the super big baggy T's, you only showed young girls wearing that trend, not the reason I watch your channel. But loving the sweater vest and will be thrifting as many as I can find this year :)

Khaki is a loanword from Urdu خاکی 'soil-colored', which in turn comes from Persian خاک [χɒːk] khāk 'soil' + ی (adjectival attributive suffix); it came into English via the British Indian Army. Since color of soil varies both shades can be included but British one should be more accurate since they originated it.

IMO, dainty socks with heeks are a very young, girly look and maybe kept for those under 30. High socks with trainers just scream "Dork"! Barn coats are frumpy looking on anyone of any age! Everything else is good! I am very happy to be to pulling out my silk scarves again this Fall. ❤

I love that these trends are created with everything I already own except for the barn coat which is weird since I spend hours a day at an equestrian barn. (But I also don’t go out in my riding clothes.) I will be trying the other styling techniques though. The scarves, khakis, long blouses with vests or short jackets all sound fun to recreate updated looks. I like the dainty socks with kitten heels but my lifestyle doesn’t match the look 😔

You know I thrift and yes, I do have a barn jacket (work jacket) and need to freshen up what I wear with it. Not sure about the socks with slide on shoes Because I was thinking about how the socks probably would not stay in place and I would end up looking like a bag lady. I have a few men socks that have some great designs. Still might try it. I love sweater vest and just added a crop one by thrifting it this week and looking forward to wearing over dresses. I see you got you some of those mesh ballet flat and they look great on you. Not sure if I will do the ballet form but would hold out for a kitty heel pair. KAHKI! Oh my goodness, I thought you were saying "Car-key" and I thought it was a brand related to "Carhart" which is a brand I love. Ha-ha, I feel so silly. Now it makes perfect sense. I love Carhartt utility jackets and ball caps with a little wear or broken in look . The wear must be authentic and not manufactured. Items with EARNED WEAR speaks to a set work ethic. I will watch your thrifting video again, but I'd like to hear more about how to put together high-low outfits. The idea of mixing more formal pieces that I don't wear very often with an ultra-casual oversized T-shirt is intriguing, but I am afraid it could go very wrong. I wonder if mixing feminine and masculine would work too; perhaps western boots with a full chiffon skirt? Color seems to be driving so many of the repeated trends to make them more fresh and unexpected. I love the oversized shorter vest over the long shirts. I was shocked at how much I liked the very sheer meshy white scrunched socks in the formal shoes. They looked pretty on someone with nice ankles. I would not be able to pull off that look with my swollen ankles, leg-ulcer bandage and other irregularities, but I could scrunch some colorful or even miss-matched compression socks in some colorful sneakers. Oh, I was wondering if neon sneakers have caught on after so many Olympics track athletes were wearing neon shoes? Thanks again for providing so many photos to help us understand. BTW, I love the shade of yellow green khaki pants that you're wearing. The yellow tint makes the fabric seem very fresh. Well done.❤

Ugh I love most , but no barn cost for me 😜🤪😝 but I love so many trends, for me it’s a more a style than trends. Love the longer top under shorter ones. Love the maxi girly skirts with oversized shirts, etc.., absolutely love longer oversized but t shirts with skirts. I actually going to pair with fringe skirt. I love your style, I wouldn't ever imagine on putting a necklace on a blouse with the metal buttons like yours, I love it! The socks thing has become very debatable, just wear whatever you feel comfortable on, e.g., I can't imagine myself wearing socks and sling back shoes but it looks more comfortable so I'll consider it. Plus nobody cares what type of socks you wear

Oh goodness.. socks with heels were a thing when i was in highschool in the mid eighties.. i am warming up to the idea of a tiny dose of cow print.. i dont think barn coats are for me.. i do like the long full skirts.. it depends on the styling .. im more conscious of how things fit my frame.. there is a fine line between frumpy and trendy... I want to err on the side of sophistication.

I love the full skirt and I have already weared knitted Vest or whatever you call that jumper without sleeves. To tell you the true I don't find socks very elegant. They can be fun. I will not be wearing socks with slingback. For me if it is cool enough for socks I will wear them with closed shoes. In warm weather I live in sandals. The barn coat sounds like another name for the chore coat that was popular a few seasons ago.......I just pulled out my cordroy one and am happy it is considered a trend. Big t-shirts make great sleep wear, not gonna wear mine out. I do love colorful bags, I am all in on that trend. Great that we can pick and choose the ones we like. I love your kaki pants.

I like: the long shirt under cropped top layer; shoes matching or similar tone to bag. PS only vegans can object to cowhide as apparel - if you eat dairy or land &/or sea animals, then you must know that hides are a by-product of the food industry.

In order to wear socks and then show your legs via a skirt or dress, you have to be young and, above all, have long and very slender legs or else all those horizontal lines will make legs look shorter and stubbier. Honestly, it just looks bad on anyone who’s not a runway model. And if you add the oversized T to the mix (another look that requires being very tall, thin & young to excuse the sloppy look), then you just look like a homeless woman who found a nice pair of shoes🫤

I said no to all the long denim and khaki skirts that pop up in discount retailers this year (it means they were mass produced and on the way out). Barn coat reminds me hunting season in England (the pic of Princess Diana and Prince Charles comes into mind). There is a certain vibe associated with barn coat like country squires, old money, American north east etc.. I had one back in the 80s from banana republic because of such vibe. I have the longer version of a barn jacket, the barn coat. Exactly the same but longer. Mine is that London\British tan in color. Looks very Carharttesque and was purchased in the 90's yet every time I wear it I get compliments!

Truly tired of everything cropped and pants with holes. Not a barn jacket fan myself, but a good look on others. No to the cowhide and no to giraffe print again, as well. Love a scarf around the waist, sort of 90's style. I don't mind socks with heels, either, done right can be really cute.

Can't understand why everybody is commenting on your pronounciation of khaki. Sounds fine to me! I love a sweater vest. I've got loads. So useful for layering over a shirt, under a blazer without a lot of bulk around the shoulders and on the arms. The barn coats are ok but at 57 I'm going to pass. I think I'd just look like an old lady in a beige anorak!

Most of these trends aren’t my cup of tea, but I’ll probably end up experimenting with one or two at some point. Will be steering clear of the oversized T-shirts, though. Yikes. I don’t think that looks good on anyone (though I often say that about a look, and then it ends up growing on me after a while), and a long T-shirt with a maxi skirt in particular looks like the wearer rolled out of bed, kept on their night shirt and simply added a long skirt and then stumbled out the door. Sloppy and weird. On me in particular it would especially be a disaster. I am thin and wear a U.S. size 2, but I’m only 5’2” with a longer torso, so I can sometimes end up looking stumpy and stout if I wear the wrong proportions. I always look best when I wear something that emphasizes my waist and bottoms that have a higher rise. The absolute last thing I need to do is put on an overly long T-shirt that hits way below my natural waist with a maxi skirt, thereby turning myself into a shapeless monolith and elongating my torso even more, making myself look stumpy.

Khaki is one of my favourite neutrals so the pants are a yes for me. Barn coats are rather shapeless so no. I'm intrigued by the long shirts with crops. Scarves no, I always lose them! Long skirts are a staple for me. Prefer pockets to bags so no. Cowhide sorry but yuk. Got oversized tees so yes. Knitted vest take me straight back to the 70's - the worst decade for fashion! Socks are only worn with trainers and under pants for me.

Where I live everyone is still wearing those horribly uncomfortable no show socks. I hope the designers never give up on putting women's socks on display. Maybe it will finally become the norm here and we as women can be comfortable in our shoes like men always get to be.

I'm sorry but barn coats are just ugly. They look fine when worn as function clothes but make no sense away from barn. For me it's another very forced trend nobody needs.
