So I went thrifting today and from your videos, I've learned to look for beautiful decor that is different! I found the most beautiful high glass bowls (not your typical size, but higher) that have exquisite scalloped edges all the way around. I brought all 6 of them. I can't wait to serve a fresh garden salad to my friends. Also, I found beautiful fall foliage saucers (red, green, gold) that are raised like a 3-D image. Excited to serve homemade pound cake topped with warm & fresh blue berries. They are both so incredibly beautiful. You got me on the prawl for beautiful things that make me happy! ❤️ Thank you!

Isn’t that a great trick?!!! When I found those lightbulbs I was like “this is a game changer”. I love that they keep a pretty long charge! I’ve also used these lightbulbs in the 2 wall sconces I put up in the entryway. I knew I didn’t want to bother with getting them hard-wired - so the light bulbs came in handy. I have always loved the changing of the seasons...until we get to winter. I only want to see snow for Christmas and then I'm over it. Fall on the other hand allows for a different type of reveal. It's grounding and when one adds the forest greens, rust, browns, with turquoise, creams well as an artist...you get the picture! lol .Falling is in a way "grounding" I am a person who enjoys going shoeless...so touching grass and feeling sand under my feet is relaxing. There are very few things that are more beautiful than watching the leaves turning their mystic colors...yes fall should be revered by all...nice post, drinks, and music...

I toootally agree with you about winter - I want to see it on Christmas Day and then I’m over it. However, this year Mark and I are going on a winter trip a couple days after Christmas and there will be snow - LOTS of snow there the entire time and I’m so looking forward to it. We basically will be living in a snow globe for a week and it’s gonna be magical. But after that - bye bye snow, lol!!!
Oh how I enjoy my Sunday mornings! It has become a whole thing for me. I made a salmon quiche, chilled a mimosa and started chanting, "Jessica, Jessica, Jessica." LOL Your thrift finds were amazing. I especially love the stems on the cocktail glasses. And what went in them was more amazing. I love fall decorating. Changing vessels and colors just elevates what is already beautiful. You did just that. You're so classy.💃

My friend Rosalyn and I have spent hours in that exact aisle looking for matches to glassware we find. If we can’t find at least 4, we leave them behind. The baskets were very nice. The glass pitchers were the bomb. I love those pumpkins especially the first one. The cream ceramic was so pretty and I love crystal. Right?!!! You just can’t beat those prices! I forgot to mention it in the video but everything came to $26! 😆 I agree - I just love that area under the stairs. That and the reupholstering projects are the 2 that still blow my mind!

When I saw it at the thrift store I had no idea where I was going to put it - but then when I started to move things around on the kitchen shelves I was like “oooooo I could totally place it here”!!! Of course I watch other home videos - but I very much subscribe to doing whatever it is I want to do vs. following what others are doing. As I mentioned in the last comment, the pumpkins that I currently own definitely have more of a Halloween vibe but the ones I purchased will carry me through Thanksgiving. In all of my videos I encourage people to do whatever it is that brings them joy. For me, I just wasn’t ready to bring out my Halloween decorations yet, so finding pumpkins that felt like fall to ME - were the perfect addition.

So is a thrift store the same as a vintage/antique store? I want to find one in my area, which is Los Angeles. I need to find the type of store u go too, not one that sells junk.
Great question! So no, they are not the same. While you can definitely find vintage/antique items in a thrift store - you will find more clothes, homegoods, and donated furniture for MUCH cheaper cost than you would at an Antique store. When you go into an Antique store you already know that you are going to pay a higher price because the pieces are often well taken care of and you are paying for the age. With a thrift store, you can find a little bit of everything and sometimes you stumble upon a gem that probably should have been taken to an antique store - but lucky you, you now get it for $19.99. 😆 It’s happened to me more times than I can count. I don’t know if you follow Lone Fox but he always finds the best thrift shops. I’ll link a post from his below. Good luck!!!
