I'm shopping around for a drill and this was high on my list. Do you recommend it? Do an indepth review on it? I can't find anything online reviewing this thing well.
So far so good! Will have to report back. This was the first time using it, but plan to put it through the paces in the next month of food plot planting. They just became available in the US. Ranews Outdoor Equipment is the distributor.
I'm also super interested in hearing a detailed review on this. I am particularly interested in knowing what it can cut through. I'd love to plant through standing buckwheat
Will you be using Faunamaster again this fall? Do you have any other videos of Faunamaster...is it heavy enough to drill in brassicas in hard ground... did you add any weight kit to stock unit?
In Northern NY we have had one of the wettest summers on record. My food plots are in . Many farmers haven't finished first cutting on hay. Normally they are wrapping up 2nd cutting of hay. Suffice it to say, it's Fing wet here...
Found out this plot did not come up. Was this a problem with how you did it or was this the Faunamasters fault? Do you have any food plots that did well with the Faunamaster?
West central Illinois had the driest fall on record. It was no fault of the Faunamaster just complete lack of moisture. Any plots that did catch a first rain ended up failing because of not catching a second rain. However, the sweet corn planted in the garden with the Faunamaster was incredible! Key ingredient was the hose and sprinkler!
"Dry Summer"? Sounds like you're not in AL!! Maybe you said it, but it's always nice to know, at least, the region of the country you're in. I'm guessing Midwest, but I don't need to know the state, but at least the region you're in would be helpful. Anyway, great vid!!! The only thing that worries me is the weight of the drill. Obviously, at times, when you need a hvy drill, YOU NEED a hvy drill! Thanks for your dedication!!!
You said that you used that drill "once before to plant sweet corn"... Just curious as to how that previous planting turned out? Im trying to decide between purchasing one of these or a Firminator G3. My concerns are that the Faunamaster might not be heavy enough to drill through thatch debris or through dry/compacted soils. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on both pieces of equipment...
