My love, without darkness we would not know the light. Without pain we would not know pleasure. Unfortunately we've been programmed to think and accept the bad before the good or question it but look at this beautiful tribute. I hope he knew how loved he was while he was alive. Forever a master. Timeless and essential. Take care +have a blessed weekend!❤🤘
Essica Reese Thank you for your words! I couldn’t have said it better. That’s the balance. The yin/yang. There must be friction. Unfortunately we are all seeing the scales being unbalanced but I know pure LOVE will always win.
@3:56 the look of a proud mother knowing her son's music affected everyone who listened from coast to coast.... This is what happens when you master the blessings/talents The Most High gives you..
I love how Ma Dukes continues to be a soldier for her son. And she's witnessing only a fraction of the love and respect that so many people have for his music.
That is what I love the HIP HOP CULTURE thanks J dilla R.I.P biggie R.I.P Big l R.I.P Tu pac Shakur R.I.P Big punisher R.I.P Guru. Thanks Hip hop For safe my life !
R.I.P to every amazing artist that ever passed away and ever will. Rest in peace, positivity, prosperity, love, happiness, joy, abundance success and paradise
Strange how you can cry for the passing of people you never knew, and yet feel like you knew them through their music. The wonderful things they've created connect you to something...not in this world. Thanks Jay.
Renditions like these of Jay Dee's work make it easy for fans to "fall in love" with his music (be it solo or collaborative) all over again. Hats off to Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, the orchestra (looked very much like Karriem Riggins on the drums), and everyone involved in the production of this event/project celebrating Dilla's life and legacy. RIP Dilla Dawg, and also, RIP Baatin (vintage Villa). Classic.
Still the fucking best video on RU-vid. The brilliance of the orchestra, the diversity of the players (big dude with the fitted rocking the violin, braided goatee guy, women and men of all backgrounds, karriem riggins on the drums) and then you got the little brother of the family Illa J nervously on the mic with Bilal, both next to some of hip-hops greats from LA/Detroit standing stoicly... Ma Dukes at peace and appreciation, this was a Yancey family moment for all of us to share. Hip-hop greatness. I could never get bored of this video.
I felt like crying when I saw this clip because that's how beautiful this tribute is to one of the greatest hip hop music .producer of all time. This is a beautiful way to pay tribute to J. Dilla, One of the best hip hop producer of all times.
I was at this show and haven't thought about it in awhile. It was one of the most interesting heart felt shows I've ever been to. Emotional night for lots of Dilla family, friends, and us, the fans. Watching this was a trip down memory lane - will remember this show forever.
Sending Valentine’s Day vibes out to everyone blessed enough to hear this masterpiece. Today’s listen hit me at a much needed time in my life. Love everyone around you until they give a reason not to, then forgive their reason & love them a just little bit more if you can. 😉 ✌️
This music piece is absolutely beautiful, it brings me feelings of joy, love, and peace! I was in tears my first time listening to this tribute here, which was fifteen replays ago! Thank you Mr.J Dilla Rest in Paradise! .. and a brilliant job to all those who put this together, well done!
the snare isn't EQ'ed 'thick' like JD would have loved but this is live so i think that doesn't matter as much. So much love to MA Dukes and the suit team. Love you all. RIP JD!
Gogley Loosa - your comment deserves a BILLION thumbs up! For real. Well said is much respect for our dearly departed Legend and brother James J DILLA Yancey. RIP Black man.

+Daniel Kelly I'm talking about a production film where an actor plays Dilla and tells his story as a producer from birth to death while incorporating Hip-Hop artists and groups he has worked with as well as displaying his beats.
