Joslyn opens up about her struggles with addiction, eating disorders and how those bumps in the road changed the trajectory of her life. She also discusses the discovery of her true identity as a trans woman and how this played out in the midst of recovery. There is no written map for recovery and Joslyn’s story shows just how unexpected and long the process can be.

Joslyn Defreece is a NYC-based writer, producer, actor and activist. Joslyn starred in Carl(a) -- a feature film depicting one girl's path of transition -- and in The Enclave at Rattlestick Theatre. She also starred in a landmark national commercial for Sonnet --- one of the first to ever feature a Trans protagonist. She has appeared on the Daily Show, Comedy Central, CNN and The Kelly Clarkson Show. Joslyn can currently be seen in the comedy series, "Marque and Hector", on Amazon Prime/Dekkoo and as a German trans woman who escaped the Nazis on the show "Strange Angel," streaming on Paramount+.
