Sasha & Stella welcome Elaine Miller, a physiotherapist specializing in pelvic health and award-winning comedian to join them for a riveting conversation unpacking the effects of testosterone on the female body, with particular attention to the pelvic area. This conversation uncovers shocking insights about incontinence and other physiological changes as the result of putting a female system on disproportionately high levels of testosterone. A must-watch for therapists, parents, individuals considering testosterone therapy, and healthcare professionals who want to understand the real, often overlooked, consequences of cross-sex hormones on female bodies.

I had pelvic floor issues from the age of 13. The first time I brought it up to a gynaecologist, at the age of 19, she said that I must have been sexually abused as a child! I was definitely not, but that shook me up for weeks afterwards. Months later, I found an article about how many athletic teenage girls had severe pelvic floor problems just like mine. I was a cross country runner from 13-17. I went to see a pelvic floor therapist this past spring and almost completely resolved my issues in 8 weeks of treatment. My only regret is not going as a teenager. On my high school cross country team, we used to joke about how peeing yourself during a race was a sign you were working your hardest! No one ever talked to us about pelvic floor problems, despite all of us being inherently high risk, given our age and activity level. Please, if you are having these problems, go to pelvic floor therapy. It was very scary to begin but I saw results unlike anything I've ever seen from other medical treatment. It's like magic!

34:01 the follow up rates of gender clinics truly are abysmal. I’m a detransitioner from Australia, I desisted last year. Cancelled my last appointment with the gender clinic by replying “NO” to a text message and haven’t heard a single thing since

Continuing on this, the more I listen the more things make sense. I wasn’t told of many of these risks, and I wish I was. The most I was told was that I might not be able to have penetrative intercourse, I might not be able to have kids, and I might get liver cancer. A lot of the health issues that I am hearing being spoken about are making so much sense

Truly remarkable that they aren't following up w/ detransitioners - because depending on the individual they may very well have caused lifelong challenges. But again, if someone has an issue with what their original clinic did to them most likely they will never want to get care from a group of doctors who are SO pro-transition but actually do not care or know about the long-term physical harm they are causing in many cases.

@@lizadeezaIt makes sense that they don't want to follow up. They must know that everything they do is harmful to the body but as was said in the video: they don't do negativity. So if they don't ask questions they hope not to find out the negative results of their actions. It is denial.

Not surprised. Older detransitioner, here. They roll out the red carpet for you if you want to get on cross sex hormones, creating effects in your body it was never designed to withstand, but if you decide to desist, it’s, “let us know if you change your mind” (that’s what I was told). If they showed concern, it would go against the lies they propagate.

Man here. 10 years pelvic floor injury/dysfunction from age 24-34. If everyone really knew and understood the issues that can arise from this problem, the amount of people volunteering for it would drastically reduce. Unfortunately it seems like people have to experience it to really know. If anyone is reading this or watching the video and think it's no big deal, please think again. This is a very serious issue that needs to be taken way more seriously. Men and ladies out there; do whatever you can to avoid these issues. Find a doctor or therapist that will help you. Don't take no for an answer. Keep fighting. Edit: For the men. In my area, I had to seek out a therapist that was primarily focused and advertised for womens issues. It was rarer, but I wasn't the first to seek her help for male pelvic issues. Ask those people if they can help you too. Despite sex differences, a lot of the advice given to women can help you too.

Yessss. And pelvic floor health is _really_ important for older men. For some weird reason I had read about it when my dad needed surgery for prostate cancer some 20+ years ago. I was his medical support person, and while this was mentioned in passing in the preparations for the surgery it wasn't really IMO emphasised enough. I nagged him relentlessly about doing some simple exercises every day leading up to the prostatectomy. And take some credit for the fact that he was continent for about 5 years after surgery (then it started to fail, maybe the severe Parkinson, maybe just old age, who knows).

To think people all over are being sold medically-induced disability by unscrupulous people... Every female who uses "T" long-term, as we heard in the pod. Add every male who has "the surgery" (any version of it)-they will have pelvic floor dysfunction as well. For many it's immediate, for others it will show up as they age. Incontinence is inevitable. Those who make it to old age will have a very difficult time... As will their caretakers. People who market this dare to speak of dignity and saving lives... harming a human being in this way is antithetical to the concept of dignity.

You aren't alone. Sometime in my late 20s my moods went nuts. I blamed it on stress. One morning, age 32, woke up with a burning scalp, very oily, and the hair loss became more rapid, monthly cycle went nuts as well as flow, increase in facial hair. Dr blamed it all on perimenopause. Doctor after doctor and no answers or treatment that fixed any of it. Labs showed testosterone through the roof, way too high for a woman. Put on various BC pills to try to regulate, was put on Metformin in an attempt to lower testosterone and another drug I can't remember the name of that gave me horrible nerve pain. Nothing worked. One endo told me to lose weight and get some Rogaine in such a dismissive tone I didn't go to another doctor for years. Depression, anxiety, painful gritty dry eyes, vertigo, incontinence, high blood pressure, palpitations, rage and more rage, crippling anxiety. For a few years I had back-to-back hot flashes with no relief. Tried various OTC estrogen and progesterone creams with some success, but not complete relief. In my late 40s I had to brave going to a Dr again due to abdominal pain which led to imaging, that's when we found in addition to a bum ovary there is also an adrenal tumor. However, Dr won't operate to remove because it isn't big enough to be considered "active" even though I have all the symptoms of it being active and a 24 hr urine test was one point above "normal range" so obviously something is going on there. Other than that Drs still don't know what to do with me. Suffering continues. Now in my 50s I should be through menopause, but I'm not. Things have slowed down, but not stopped. Incontinence, hair loss, depression, anxiety, hopelessness, dry eyes, migraines, vertigo and more have gotten worse, but the rage has improved, hot flashes have ended, and the libido has pretty much disappeared other than a rare moment here and there that always takes me by surprise.

This was awesome, thank you ladies. I'm 55, postmenopausal and thankfully still have a strong pelvic floor and sex drive. One important point though, you didn't cover the importance of correct nutrition. Too many women eat a plant based diet, missing out on nutrients essential for brain and hormonal health. The science is clear, there are essential nutrients in meat you cannot get from plants, and all nutrients are more bioavailable from animal products than from plant products. Many mental health issues, including the rise in anxiety, are just nutrient deficiencies, there are some great studies being done on this at the moment but they're not talked about in the mainstream. Cholesterol is also essential yet has been incorrectly (deliberately?) villainised. Plant sterols block our production of cholesterol, which is essential for brain and hormone health. Worse, too many post menopausal women are on statins, artificially lowering their cholesterol and destroying their mental and physical health for no reason.

Their issues could possibly be resolved, or at least helped, by not eating any processed crap and getting plenty of animal protein. Nutrition is of the utmost importance! Btw. 72 yo f ex vegetarian and only 3 weeks ago jumped from low carb diet to carnivore and am feeling so great. I may not keep it up forever, but it’s definitely benefiting me in all kinds of ways. Holistic nutritionist here and plant-based diets do provide all vitamins and minerals. Animals that are eaten by humans get the nutrients in their flesh from plants too. The body naturally produces cholesterol and plants do NOT block healthy cholesterol levels in those who eat a plant-based diet. Also, the quality of meat matters. Most people are eating factory farmed flesh filled with GMO crops, animal by-products (cannibalized flesh), antibiotics, and hormones. Definitely not healthy for anyone! Plants that are grown organically in healthy microbiome soils are also more nutrient dense than plants grown in dead soils. Please educate yourself on blue zones and cultures that live the longest with the least amount of health issues in senior years-- plants and algaes make up the majority of their diets.

Sasha and Stella, you are guiding lights in these dark times facing youth. I remember seeing Sasha’s first few interviews with Benjamin Boyce, great to see all that you’ve done and continue to do for kids and parents. I’ve been in the adolescent mental health field for over 20 years, currently at a kid’s hospital in Canada since 2018. The rise in mental health admissions and increase in acuity of these concerns has been harrowing. Barely any acknowledgement of these trends, especially in Canada. The failed pandemic policies re: kids that worsened the youth MH crisis, this gender ideology and the treatments/surgeries being pushed on youth, the victimhood identities being encouraged: it’s hard to believe how badly we are failing kids in the name of “compassion and DEI”. Increasingly, it feels like parents and adults who work with kids are primarily concerned with being a friend and peer to the kids. So many so-called “adults” who are afraid to ever impose authority/boundaries/structure/discipline. I think many of us in this field can see how lost the youth feel when there are no authorities in their lives. It’s hard for kids to articulate this issue but some of the older kids I work with remark on how “it feels like there aren’t any adults around”. It makes me all the more thrilled to see folks like you both who are standing up against the ideologues who have been bullying and causing harm with little push back. And I hope more adults will follow the example that you ladies set with these videos. Many thanks 🙏🏼 😊

@@biancawilloughby9980 I'm sorry if this sounds accusatory in any way, but what does trans friendly mean? I've had a wide variety of experiences with healthcare practitioners so I don't doubt there are good and bad ones. I do believe that health care providers need to be able to talk about female bodies and have knowledge of the effects of cross sex hormones so they can provide accurate and informed healthcare. Because we are where we are, we need to respond to the situation as it is, not how we think it *should* be. There are definitely some professionals who haven't exercised a duty of care in informing people who choose this path of all the issues that can occur. The problem is, cognitive dissonance between that reality and what is wished for are never going to be compatible. How do we address this while providing a high standard of care for the bodies of trans identifying people?

I'm also curious about the impact of oestrogen on the male body pelvic floor, I hope there's similar research being done on that. As I understand it testosterone is a much stronger hormone in terms of its permanent effects than oestrogen but I'm happy to be corrected with some good evidence.

A lot of kids are being taught to identify and recognize signs of gender non-conformity as being signs of trans. They're not just self diagnosing but also diagnosing each other and the next thing they know, they're in an after school LGBTQ support group and they're solidifying their new identity before a parent or doctor has even heard about it. Once they've had it reinforced by their new "friends/community" it can be hard to go back, particularly when they've often been trained to defend their position by other kids. It's one of the consequences of introducing gender ideology in schools.

Here in Canada it's a huge problem. One of my clients ( I'm a tattoo artist) identifies as male, she is autistic, had severe development issues as a child ( I know because I know her mom) and at 18 she found out on internet that her feeling of emptiness could be because she's in the wrong body. She met a therapist once and was given hormones right then, and 6 months later had her breasts amputated and nipples modified. She is having a hysterectomy soon and wants to pursue the rest of the gruesome surgeries of " reassignment". One thing I learned recently and totally blew my mind is that she is legally not considered cognitively able to manage her own money, so she has a legal financial guardian, as an adult, who manages her money and she needs to ask permission to that person for everything, but at the same time she was hired as a.. YOUTH THERAPIST at a community center that's publicly financed 😨🤯 She is advising minors about life and mental& emotional health "professionally" The future of our western woke countries is grim if we don't turn things around fast

Sex is binary. Judith Butler is a philosopher, not a scientist, and her views on sex are wrong. No one gets to choose their own pronouns, and certainly no one gets to use government to compel others to use their language of choice. Gender roles and the divide between masculine and feminine are indeed, in part, socially constructed, but this is a minor insight that should not be expanded beyond it's very limited insight.

Saying transition benefits some people is misleading. Benefits them compared to what other possible outcome? When someone who is either distressed at their healthy, natural state or has taken a sexual obsession too far is encouraged to go along with a fantasy they have created around themselves and professionals deliberately instigate iatrogenic harm then it cannot be claimed to be any kind of treatment or satisfactory outcome of intervention. No intervention at all would surely be equivalent or a better outcome. This model of care has not been compared to anything else. The push to outlaw 'conversion therapy' is just about making sure we can't explore other options and potential outcomes. Fetishists want to normalise fetish and are happy to use vulnerable people to do so and the medical professionals just go along with it. We need to de-medicalise this issue. It's a social issue, it's a technology issue (disassociated & porn addled), it's a behavioural issue, it is not a medical issue at all and a satisfactory 'treatment' would surely be focused on an outcome that means someone does not deliberately engage in harmful behaviour & remains healthy. Because - Because the person feels that he or she belongs entirely or partially to the opposite gender." That feeling inside that one has affiliation to the opposite sex. I was referred to a gender specialist. I wanted to discuss how difficult this is in everyday social life in relation to other people. The specialized therapist offered me as much testosterone and surgery as I wanted. Everything was paid for by the health insurance company. Phallo plastic and everything. I was offered this in the first hour - without me asking about testosterone. That is what's happening... When I refused to take testosteron I was kicked out of therapy and called transphobic

I went to the second therapist, in 2022. As soon as I came in, I was greeted by Mr. (name). again I was immediately offered hormones and surgery. When I didn't accept that, she said that trans people want hormones and surgery and if I don't want that, then I'm not trans. She doesn't know what other mental disorder I have. Most of them die young from all the hormones they have to permanently take.

I had to have a full hysterectomy in my early 30 & my Gynaecologist said I should have HRT implants which they make a incision & place a capsule in & stitch you up lasts approx a few months but after a few of these implants I had a stroke I was healthy there is no family history we all die of cancer so of record my medical professional told me that in USA women even died because they put to much testosterone in the implants I am working class & could not afford or well enough to take on the NHS or American drugs company the reason I am telling you is there must be evidence somewhere because I was told USA women who had implants took the drugs company to Court this was in 1998/2000

I complained of the severe pain in my private area, and they did a colonoscopy and told me that I take too many laxatives. OKAY..... The pain doctor pretended like I didn't say the words and told me to go to an addiction psychiatry clinic, even though there was no evidence in my history at all of any type of addictive behavior. I have never smoked a cigarette and have not drank alcohol in over 25 years and never touched a drug not prescribed to me and never overused the drugs that were prescribed to me. But women are HATED in every way in this world. I live in almost constant severe pain and WILL NEVER SAY THE WORD PAIN TO A DOCTOR EVER AGAIN. I had something like a stroke in 2021 and they would not treat it until my drug test came back. I was paralyzed on the right side and when the cheerful nurse informed me my drug screen was clean and I could FINALLY get stroke treatment, I could not even punch that cheerful hag in the mouth because I was PARALYZED on the right side. In the end they said it was a 42 hour long migraine that made me unable to speak English or move my right side. BUT I WAS NEVER GIVEN ANY MIGRAINE MEDS UNTIL ALL THE SYMPTOMS WERE GONE. I SUFFERED A Full BLOWN MIGRAINE FOR 42 HOURS WITH NO TREATMENT. I am terrified of doctors because of medical abuse by my mother when i was 5 to 11 years old,. I have no idea how to live other than IN CONSTANT SEVERE UNSPEAKABLE PAIN.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Can you see a herbalist or Chinese medicine practitioner? Acupuncture?

Where do you live? That kind of non-care was typical in America decades ago--a doctor dominating a woman instead of listening and providing health care.

@@hlw1306 Yeah. I've suffered it for 4 decades. The accusations of addiction did not start until obonobo death care. I used the public health clinic for 15 years and they treated me fairly well, though they did try to make me get a hysterectomy at age 29. I refused and still have all my parts. I am 61 and I avoid doctors at all costs.

@@ezzafive9271 Those things won't work for me. I tried everything. It is nothing more or less than what it is. Medicare and the half baked insurance I have will not pay for those things.
