I fell in love with Terceira back in 72-74 when I lived in Praia de Victora with my wife & son. I was stationed at Lajes Field, but lived off base the entire two years. The island, food, ocean, and especially the Azorean people were awesome. It's all changed now. The caves, funnels, and lava tubes I used to explore alone with a rope & flashlight, now have installed lighting, stairs, railed walkways, and ya have to pay to get in. Way too many tourists now.
