Hi everyone, in today’s vlog, I am sharing about our Fall foliage road trip to the Catskills during last October. We visited Catskills on October 17th-2021.
Catskills mountain is beautiful during Fall. It’s just a 2.5 hours drive from NewYork city or New Jersey and so many fun things to do during a day trip. So today, I am going to share about places we covered and activities we did in a day, without staying overnight! Please note that, we traveled with 2 kids and whatever i am sharing here is extremely kids friendly.
We started early in the morning, around 8 am and drove straight to the Hunter Mountain.
Driving through the different scenic route itself was so pleasant and an amazing experience.
✅Hunter Mountain scenic Skyride-
We reached Hunter mountain around 11 am. We booked our tickets in advance through their website.
We took this 11-minute scenic ride to the top. The high summit of Hunter Mountain is at the 3200 feet from sea level.
There are different viewpoints at the top. From there, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the high peaks of the northern Catskills and even Green Mountains of Vermont.It’s a six-passenger chairlift

Around 1:30 we started from Hunter Mountain towards Kaaterskills Fall. Kaaterskills Fall is just 7.8 miles from Hunter mountain.

✅Kaaterskill Falls
Around 2:30 p.m we reached Kaaterskill Falls
Dropping in two tiers over 260 feet, Kaaterskill Falls is one of the region's most popular destinations. Entry is free.
Parking: 103 Laurel House Rd, Palenville, NY 12463
We took the easiest route to the upper level view point which is just .3 miles flat trail from the parking lot.Spent an hour there including the parking, taking the trail to the view point. Expect a queue in the viewing point as it becomes extremely crowded during Fall.
After grabbing a quick lunch, we reached at the Kingston plaza train station around 4:30 pm.e
✅Catskill Mountain Railroad- Fall foliage adventure ride
The train departs from Westbrook Station at Kingston Plaza.
Riding the open air cars through the scenic Ulster & Delaware Railroad corridor is fun for kids as well as adults.

$10.00 - Children (Ages 2-12)
Fall rides are about an hour and fifteen minutes long and are approximately 8 miles round trip.
