Just a little tip for you if you are doing lace in the round with a repeat so many times, is that I place a stitch marker at every repeat. I’m working on a sweater now that had a lace yoke and it repeated 20 times. They started out 10 stitches and eventually increased to 12 stitches. So every repeat I knew if I had too many or not enough stitches and it makes it very easy to fix right away. Yeah the markers are a pain but my lace always becomes so easy.
Your combo of yarns for the crew pants is stunning!! The slightly different hues will make the fabric a lovely dimension. Cant wait to see how they turn out!!
Thank you! I bought quite a bit of yarn while I was still a student with little disposable income - so I would go for the acrylic mix blends and they work well for me! Happy to continue knitting with all this yarn now in stash
Thank you - glad to heard it sounds better! And it’s one of my favorite types of videos to watch - but my to knit list keeps getting longer and longer 😂
Use a life line when you knit the lace wrap sweater and make a note (somewhere) when you set it down so you know where to pick back up. Sounds elementary but so helpful with lace. Good luck!
lovely video! enjoy that you are talking a bit slower, it makes the video a bit more relaxing ;) also love all of your plans! be careful with sizing up for sweater no 14 v-neck as it is already quite oversized ☺ first time I was making it, I chose the size as recommended in the pattern and ended up with a sweater that is too big 👀
Great video, Rebecca! Audio is definitely louder, and I love the lighting from this camera angle. Also, you come off as a really natural podcaster! Love your cadence and the way you explain your thinking, and you seem so much more comfortable than your last video which is super impressive. Peer Gynt is more so of in between a DK and worsted weight yarn in my opinion, rather than heavy worsted as you mentioned. I’m currently using it for my Chestnut Sweater by PetiteKnit on 4mm needles.
Thank you - I hope to improve in each video so your words mean a lot to me 😊 and that’s good to know about peer gynt! I was going off of the metre/gram but it can be different in person so maybe the fishermens wool will be a good alternative
I really enjoyed your video, thank you! I'm knitting the Samling Sweater by Sari Nordlund - it's an all over cable v-neck sweater with a lighter gauge than the Sweater No 20
I never thought of that! But hopefully the pattern is knit at a tight enough gauge to avoid it - I’ll be able to tell better when I knit a gauge swatch 😅
I don’t have a yarn stash. I have knitting supplies just the same as all other artists have. Stash to me has negative connotations and implies that the yarn is hidden away. My yarn is out in the open on a large wall full of shelves so I can see all the beautiful colors and textures
True!! I like that mindset and never really thought of it like that before 😄 I also store my yarn in open shelving to stay inspired and so I can look at it all the time haha
I have just cast on the cable sweater and it does involve a lot of concentration but is very doable and the pattern is very well explained. But the progress is slow
the eurus sweater by aegyoknit might work if the mftk one doesn't! not the exact same vibe but still cabley (I'm biased as well cus I'm planning on making this for winter 🤪)
Ooooo I love the way the eurus looks but I’m kinda scared to knit a sweater sideways - hats off to the designer because it’s such a cool construction but scared it won’t work out
Thanks for sharing!! I love the split hem in the cozy cable sweater and it would be a great alternative😅 I know the yarn isn’t ideal for Sweater No 20 but I just have this vision in my head that I can get rid of hahaha
