Fishing the Mississippi River is always unpredictable. There is such a huge variety of fish you can catch at any time in about any place. This always adds to the excitement when you can add in some bonus fish species. And that's just what we did here.
We went out to target walleye and sauger in a typical fall crankbait pattern. The day before, we boated some walleyes and sauger and were hoping to repeat this pattern with the cameras rolling. Although the walleyes were scarce this day, the saugers were around and we caught a couple bonus flathead catfish and a white bass to round it off.
Days like this won't be around for much longer and we're looking forward to some more fall cool down fishing.
