When most people think of fishing in Brazil, they think of fishing in the extremely remote sections of the Amazon river for Peacock Bass or Payara. But in urban areas around Sao Paulo fishing is a completely different experience. Most of the fishing in these urban areas is limited to fishing in manmade Pesqueros that stock several of the favorite Brazilian fish species from the Amazon region. In this video we catch Pacu, Tambaqui, Tambacu, Matrinxa, Curimba, Carp, Tilapia, and Pangasius.
The high flying Matrinxa were definitely the star of the show. These unremarkable looking fish make up for the dull appearance by being one of the hardest fighting and acrobatic fish I've ever caught. Each catch consistently shows off their high flying abilities jumping several times to shake the hook before finally growing tired and surrendering to the net.
I hope you enjoy this change of pace video. I have a couple more Brazil fishing excursions filmed that I will edit as time allows.
