What a baseless comment. Biggest part of the Ottoman army wasn't consisted of irregulars, Sipahis were the biggest component of the Ottoman armies and they were medium to heavy armoured. The lightest troops were Azabs and Akinjis and for sure they were far from being majority. Besides, not every soldier was participated in siege battles, only those who were fit for such assaults were participated.

Yes Longo and his men were stationed in the harbor and unfortunately lost 200 men in a failed ambush while the Italian mercenaries of Giovanni Giustiniani and the remaining Roman/Byzantine soldiers held the front gates and walls and they fell back after 4 hours of Ottoman waves of attacks

He was motivating Mehmet for a decade to conquer the city and shook him off his despair for the final assault. He was as important as Çandarlı Halil. I think one can make this animation into a commercial success only by correcting minor issues
