God this was the mission that truly reinforced how totally out of practice I was with AoM. Crushing raids at higher difficulties if you overfocus on booming.

One of my favorite missions as a child, interesting we are Poseidon and not Zeus in Retold, it helps with market prices. I always loved to go the long way and take purple out before storming the gate

Quick tip Vipy, explore all of the map as soon as u can. Almost all of the scenarios have a few really good relics

he needs to upload these faster maybe 2 per day haha they're just so entertaining i hate waiting a day

this was painful to watch as someone who has played a lot of AoM campaign hahaha but GJ, explore the map more at the start! super useful stuff always scattered

Reminder Viper: you can trade with your own town centers for infinite gold income.

I always thought the water in older versions of AoM looked great, and it's absolutely Next Lever now. That ability for melee heroes to fight air units at range seems like it will come in very handy.

I ended up cheesing this mission by evacuating my villagers to the tiny island just off the coast of the mainland. Used the limited space to cling to life while the fishing ships harvested the fish which I used to sell for wood/gold. Had to rebuild my TC so many times to age up to Mythic and save myself with vaults of plenty

I was losing this mission constantly on like the 8th minute, until I saw this vid and remembered how Hydras were like freaking OP. Thanks dude. Could finally beat it!

This mission was so weird in retold. It's too easy on moderate and too hard on the ''hard'' difficulty. I can't even think about doing this on titan difficulty. It's too much pressure.

Don't plan on having vills fight... he said as he just lost all his forward vills! LOL!

Finally a game where i could probably beat the mighty viper in.

I like hunting with my hydra to get them extra heads before I send them into battle. Probably not that useful outside the campaigns but a neat trick.

i like how he said he didnt need the villager hp tech bc he didnt think his vill would be attacked...

Annoying that they havent switched the trojan town center and the market, always seemed strange to me that the market was in the middle of the base

See, all these cascading disasters that Viper keeps eating are exactly the reason why I personally preferred to take a decidedly more defensive approach to the campaign missions in Age of Mythology. Sure, it meant I took longer to complete the missions, but at least I had advance warning whenever the AI sent a force against the walls and watchtowers I had built, precisely for that exact reason!

TBH Hydras are OP as hell. I think they will be nerferd asap. Kill some viaalgers to get 3 heads and then they just go to 5 heads and 180 melee damage...thats a freaking joke.....also with regenerating 1000 HP these are the monsters of the army. I used to have medusas which were op in the legacy AOM but this one is all about the hydras.

This was painful Mr Viper... I know u tend to look at other things and thus miss alot of 'extra' information (like the donkey supplying gold etc). But u also lack some other form of awareness, u missed the 2nd enemy (purple) which would have made your game more easy and u didn't use siege. Just because Hydra's wreck almost anything doesn't mean its a good idea to charge into 10 tower and a gate, u need siege to help from the back-line (same as in AoE2 actually). And please build some walls, if only as a warning for an incoming raid. Also reading descriptions etc is totally fine, as well as fixing hotkeys but I am unsure this information 'sticks' in the moment. I don't know how to solve that. 'I have made this so hard for myself' u must have said this 10x but while saying it u don't regroup so the next wave is defeated as well. I know this isn't a speedrun but it stil hurts :S 'You are victorious' meanwhile the last unit dies and ----> 'A hero has fallen' (cried laughing) I do enjoy this trip down memory lane, I did always really enjoy the AoM campaign.
