Agreed. I think the issue is that they went more pop than punk in there later albums post Folie. Light Em Up is definitely more pop than punk. Not a bad song, but you can tell their sound was evolving from their previous stuff released and from that I tend to listen to stuff from primarily the first two albums.

I admit when they came back with Save Rock and Roll and AB/AP I didn’t really listen to those albums when they were released. But I listened to Mania and it was totally different and I didn’t like it as much but it’s not terrible. The problem is musicians wanna make music about their thoughts and feelings NOW. Music fans want to listen to music about their thoughts and feelings THEN. I can image it's pretty hard for bands to keep making their "old" music when they just aren't there anymore mentally because they're 40. Where as fans want to listen to nostalgic stuff that reminds them of being young because they're 40.

It was disappointing. They need to get past this whole aversion of pop punk they currently have, and do another record that sounds like Of All The Gin Joints.

@@SpinbassflipbassflyPatrick Stump likes the pop soul genre - he was inspired by Michael Jackson. It’s not CLASSIC fall out boy but I still appreciate the music and there are some good songs in that one - particularly what a time to be alive, love from the other side, so good right now, hold me like a grudge. Look at Patrick’s solo tour - it was incredible.

I'm not gonna lie bro, I laught a lot with the end, unexpected, and I like the new style, maybe it's because I'm younger (?, not soo, but 26 stills fine), but lol, nice short bro

It sucks. Just more wailing like everything they’ve made since the break.

I've been a fan of this band since 2007 but Save Rock and Roll, a post-hiatus album, is my favorite.
