Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed today's video! What was your favourite find from today's video? Have you done any thrift shopping recently? Let me know below! 😊⬇
Your cookie cutters actually look like biscuit cutters. The wavy edge goes through bread dough that might be a little sticky. Patterns in the '50s assumed that the wearer would be wearing a girdle; measurements were taken from women in the military service in the 1940's so the proportions don't approximate most women's proportions now. The Style pattern is not a princess seam, but does look very cute. Princess seams go down the front and the back and over to the armholes. They are easy to make fit because there are so many seams you can adjust.
I'm very envious that you were at the Toronto Vintage Show, I've always wanted to go. I was actually at the final Aberfoyle Antique Market for the season. I didn't find anything thing this year. Last year I found some similar little catalogues from the 70's and a dress pattern that I had way back I high school also from the 70's. I love searching for unique sewing patterns, supplies and fabric at antique markets and thrift stores. I'm going to take a screen shot of your cashmere sweater and copy that button detail onto an existing pattern I have.
Oh the Aberfoyle Antique Market sounds great too, I have been wanting to come and check that one out. The Toronto Vintage Clothing show runs every fall and spring, it is usually at Exhibition place and definitely worth the trip! Glad to hear that you liked the sweater, I think it would be very easy to replicate. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
