@Victoria Rodriguez thats an interesting take! I always took "After all this time, it's still you." To mean the game was basically telling you to look at yourself. You did it. You made it all the way here. No matter what happened to you, you survived, you persevered through many battles, and you kept moving on. But I definitely can see how it could be toned differently if it's during a genocide run!
ok ok i know im replying to my own comment, but. true pacifist perspective- "*It's you!" may be reffering to how many battles you have won, and basically everything you have gone through. all the friends you have made, and overall things you have done to free the underground. most probably means to move on, and forget about your past mistakes, and for you to also know that your actions will always have consequences. genocide run perspective- may be reffering to how chara has corrupted frisk's body(yeah i know that i used "you" in the true pacifist perspective, but we're going with actual undertale now). and by "*It's you!" means, that frisk was exploring tori's house and being happy about themselves and overall characteristics. but then, right before tori was about to fight frisk(like in the og game), chara had taken full control of frisk's body. then, there goes the whole genocide run. but when the dialouge "*After all this time, it's still you." appears, it may be reffering to how chara has taken over frisk's body, and that how chara is happy with what they have done. and that all those innocent monsters are gone forever, until the next reset. it also may be that damned weed(flowey)/asriel finding out that chara was actually 'alive' and controlling frisk, that chara could have been lying to him. i could imagine asriel saying, "after all this time... its.. its 'still' you.. but... but chara! where is the chara i always love?! where.... where is my sister..?" while crying. yeah yeah i ranted about 2 pieces of dialouge. man undertale has a *lot* of lore tbh.
It's... it's still me. I don't know why it hurts so much. The hurt isn't bad hurt though. It's the pain you get when you feel nostalgia, if that makes sense. It's sad. But it comforts me. Cause, after all this time, its still me.
Due to being the younger sibling, you grow up watching your older brother play every game imaginable on dads old pc. Sitting for hours, five more minutes just at the best save point, watching and wishing for him to ask “do you wanna try?” Spoiler alert, he won’t. As you finally grow older, you’ll have a computer of your own. The terror of being able to play undertale, a game with so much emotion attached to it after (despite pretending to hate and enjoy watching at the same time), you’ll get a chance to play on your own, pacifist, of course, as you have too strong of an emotional connection to kill even the most annoying random monster. You’d decide to live stream on twitch for a few people, but most importantly, your proud older brother. - the little sister.
that’s scarily accurate? i played it on my switch and he would hear the music and come watch me play for hours. i watched him play it when i was little and heard him listening to the music and have loved it even before i played it. i can’t bring myself to play the genocide route. i love all of the characters too much. I LITERALLY CRIED WHEN I HAD TO FIGHT ASGORE AND WHEN I HAD TO LEAVE ASRIEL BEHIND 😭😭😭 but my brother even watched me play deltarune and i will never grow out of the undertale phase

Your mom calls on you checking if your okay. You decide to leave the box alone, as you head down stairs and into the kitchen. You hand your mom the apron. She asks if your okay, as you looked puzzled. You tell her about the box. She smiles and says nothing. You shrug it off. After dinner, you hear faded music from upstairs. It sounds like an out of tune piano..? You head upstairs, the attic still open. You walk up the stairs, the music getting louder. Its coming from the box. You look at the box, wondering if you should open it or not. You take a few deep breaths before grabbing the box and sprinting down the stairs and into yohr room. You close your door, placing the box carefully on your bed. You stand there, scared. You dont know what you want to do. You finally gather the courage and open the box. A video. A married couple dancing, people laughing and cheering in the background. It looks like your mother and your father. But youre confused. Mother and father never got married. Father is gone. You keep watching until you see you. Youre in the video. You look happy. Whats happening?? When was this taken? Your mom opens your door, walking up behind you as she watches with you. She smiles, as she sighs. "I cant wait," she says turning off the tape and looking into your eyes. "Can't wait for what, mom?" you ask, putting the tape into the box. "Remember your fathers last words..?" your mother asks as she sits on your bed. You shake your head. "In another lifetime."

This gives me a sort of unwelcome welcome, like being invited into a beast’s den as a guest by the beast itself, but it doesn’t eat you…it’s just lonely, yet you can’t look it in the eyes right. No matter what, your brain stops eye contact…That sort of feeling
Pro tip: if you go to the playback settings and set the speed to 0.75, it is truly slowed to perfection. It does have a little distortion, but it helps add to the feeling of it.
And 0.5 adds a nice creepy effect to it! Like ,, something you would hear in an abandoned house or, the end of a horror movie where they're covering graves or something sad like that.

Random undertale thought i had while listening to this, so yknow how toriel is mad at asgore for killing the humans that fell down to set them free right? Well, what if asgore wasn't the one killing the humans, what if it was undyne, or maybe sans did his job for once.
Toriel would still be angry asgore wanted to kill all humans that entered, whether he did it, or undyne, didn’t really matter to her. He wanted the humans to die, and that’s what she was angry about
i’ve been replaying undertale a lot recently, in fact i’ve done true pacifist 8 times in a row, one neutral, and 2 genocide routes in this past month and hearing fallen down every time i reset and toriel finds me with flowey i start to get that weird feeling that’s both happy but terrified at the same time. undertale really matches ranboos lore persona with all the ups and downs in time and how to you can choose your fate, some people hate them, some people love them, etc.

The song makes me feel comforted after all the years of playing undertale. I stopped playing long ago but I feel as if I can never really let it go. But I know it's a piece of my childhood I can never put down. The slowing of the end of the song is very eerie too. But still gives off a comforting sense.

You knew this feeling of.. being home or actually loving someone as a parent figure wasn't gonna last long. You didn't want to get attached to anything or anyone, but it was too late for that. You walked over to the end of the hall, not bothering to look inside of the rooms. It was a waste of time if you just wanted to get this over with. Killing everyone wouldn't be too hard. You looked into the mirror. It's.. you. It's just you. Come on, it's still you. Nothing has changed, it still is you. You shook your head, snapping out of it. Right, Asgore's home. Surrounded by the gray and dark environment, you didn't want to stay here any longer. It was exactly like Toriel's home. Where you felt like you belonged. You placed a hand on the mirror, your reflection staring right back at you. Thinking if you had changed one bit, you looked at your features. Nothing did. Morally? Yes. You have never felt so wrong in your entire life. It was like you wanted to go back in time and reset everything. Live a happy life with everyone in the underground. But, no. You killed everybody. Each and every one of them that got in your way. Your finger stroked the mirror before you put your arm back down. But it was still you. Same person that killed all, committed mass genocide in the underground. You came to terms with your regret and _just_ after all this? At the point of no return? "I'm not *me* anymore."
It was... a worrisome creature to say the least. Long spindly limbs, taking up more space than the body itself. Thin to the point of unhealthiness, like it hadn't eaten in weeks. Skin split down the middle, but in such an uneven way it looked painful. They looked sloppily stitched together, crafted by the messy hands of a toddler. Its breathing was ragged and sharp, it sounded like rasping for any form of air. I had seen many horrifying creatures in my life. I had to run form many, and even kill a few in self defense. But this, _this_ creature. It looked so... _pained._ Scared. It was hanging on to life by a mere thread. It was one of the only creatures out here that I didn't fear. Was it pity I felt? Or concern? I couldn't tell. I sat down next to it, watching as it turned its head shakily in my direction. Its mismatched eyes blinked sloppily. It looked like it was in pain. It took a moment to regard me. Then fragile, snake like arms wrapped around me, a feeling of depleting warmth entering my body. I slowly wrapped my arms around its body, being as gentle as I physically could. I was scared of I moved any quicker I would break all its bones. I bet it was scared of that too. I sighed, closing my eyes. This creature... it was worrisome, to say the least.

"You found me, ranboo :) you've returned to your best friend. your only friend"

Today: No better than any other day, went to school acting all happy and sitting on your own in class not talking to anyone and head down writing work, nobody knows the inside pain it’s like a wrecking ball hitting you mentally. Friends are slowly drifting away from you and becoming the ‘odd kid’ who never talks, roumers, lies, insults and pain over and over again you have enough so you don’t want to go to school for weeks but you are forced to. on and on again bullied, lied to, treated weirdly it’s sickly having to pretend to be happy around friends and teachers. -this took me a while to write :”)
POV : It is a rainy morning, you have just arrived at school and you're late. The halls are empty, no students in sight, all of them attending to their own lessons. As you walk through the corridors of your academy you can distantly hear a serenading melody coming from the out-of-tune piano in the abandoned music room of the fourth floor. You slowly approach the room, and what you are met with feels hard to believe. The piano is playing on it's own. No pianist sat on its teared leather stool. You enter the room with hesitant steps and decide to sit on the windowsill in the other side of the room to listen to the piece of the non-existent pianist. The raining clouds accompanying its melody with soft pitter patter sounds. *"Yeah, it was definitely worth skipping class for this"* You sigh with a smile playing on your lips.
After about ten seconds of sitting on the windowsill, you start vocalizing with the piano and invisible pianist. You don’t stop when you feel eyes on you, and you don’t stop when the pianist stops playing the piano out of what you assume is surprise. Soon after, the piano resumes the song with your voice also filling up the room. Then you both finish, and you sit in silence for a few seconds before you hear a book opening and being written in. You look over to the piano and find a notebook and a pencil, but the pencil is floating and writing! You wait for it to stop before getting up and looking at what it wrote *’I enjoyed that, come again tomorrow, same time, same place. -V’* Welp, now you have a new ghost friend!
The next day you come back to hear your ghost friend, instead of sitting on the windowsill you sit on the torn leather stool. As you vocalize to the tune you find your not in the room anymore. You find yourself in a room that's dark, you can see a silhouette of a tall man or should you day boy. He look younger than you, but strangely scared. You cant make out his features. You continue singing though. The boy seems to calm down. When the tune ends you stop singing. You find yourself back in the classroom. It seems like that was a dream. You find the notebook on the top of the piano, with a note that says" quite lovely. What did you see?" You mutter " a tall boy" the ghost seems to have heard for on the notebook it said "you saw me!" Your a little freaked out, but remain calm. You then say" I'll come back tomorrow, we can play more tomorrow". After that you came every day until the end of school. And you found peace. But you felt torn at the end of the school year, for this was your last year there.

Now let’s end your school year with a bang* And so you sang, and Ranboo played the piano, and as your heard the song in tune for the first time, you teared up and started silently crying while singing. This song sounded so much more beautiful, whether that be because it was in tune now or because it was the finale of a really sh!tty school year for you. The last chord, you looked over to Ranboo, and saw him with a mask and glasses, but you felt you could see through them, and you saw someone who was smiling ear to ear. Ranboo’s form was shifting, little bits of smoke-like stuff flowed off of him. “See you soon.” Those three words meant much, much more now. *[END?]*

Ranboo says it was lovely to play with his dearly beloved. The new ghost says their name is tubbo. But something is wrong. You turn to the kid and ask what their name is and they tell you "tommy". Ranboo and tubbo seem excited for the room warms up. But you feel exactly like you belong. You remember the story your grandfather told you as a kid. "So my dear y/n, when I was your age we didn't go to school in my time. It was war on top of war. I made three close friends and I was happy. But good things didn't last long. Soon they were always hurt. One died of explosives he loved them, one died of a panic attack he never did get the right help, and one well he still walks this earth like his father before he." Why did this story stick out to you. You tell ranboo and his friends that you'd be here tomorrow. And you felt alive for the first time in a long time.

The fact that this song can summon two fandoms but it means two completely opposite things for them is amazing. For Dream smp, Ranboos charecter to be more specific, it means sadness, anxiety, the feeling of being manipulated and just plain in order wanting to feel happy again. For undertale this song means nostalgia, surviving and comfort. It makes undertale fans feel relaxed and comforted and Dream smp fans feel upset and anxious. I did this test because im a Dream smp fan, my friend is a undertale fan and we both shared how we feel about this song and how we react to it. I said i sometimes start crying and overall just feel sad and she felt relaxed :)
Lol just got motivation to write smth so heres a lil fanfic for y'alls Butterscotch and cinnamon, it's all you can smell. But... It's not overwhelming, it's just the smell of *home*. "Dear child?" That voice, the soothing voice of a mother, *your* mother, Toriel. She's calling you over, sitting on a chair in front of a dusty piano, patting the spot next to her signalling for you to seat yourself next to her. You set yourself down, the cushions are a bit worn but are ultimately still comfortable. "My child there is something I wish to show you, something my own mother taught me when I was young." The loving monster opened up the fall board, revealed some beautifully designed keys. "When I was a young girl my mother and I would play this song together.. I wonder if I can still play." Claws above the keys Toriel seemed to be reminiscing about the past before she began to play. The piano seemed to be a bit out of tune but still pleasant to listen to, you lean from side to side, happily listening to the song.. . Aaaand I ran out of motivation lmao, I'm tired
i love this sm mostly because it feels almost hopeful? or maybe nostalgic, or reflective, im not quite sure. it definitely gives me the sense of looking back on both the good and the bad that have happened, but being okay with how you got to where you are now :)

It's dark and cold.. you can't tell where you're going. You hear that familiar tune once again. You try to find the source, but no luck. It starts to duplicate and play around you. You still can't find the source. Soon, you give up. Then that smiley face.. that stupid smiley face with the crown appears in front of you. You stare at it for a minute, then everything goes black... You wake up in your bed. It was just a dream, thank god. Or.. was it?..

Okay but imagine an animatic where there’s two princes, one stuck in a tower and the other at the bottom of the tower, the prince at the top of the tower had flowers he needs to take care of , but he needs water from the prince down below. So every day the prince at the bottom brings him water for his flowers , but eventually gets tired of it and leaves the prince at the top of the towers alone, forgetting about him for months. The prince on the top of the tower let’s his flowers die, until he tries to fix the problem himself. He fixes the broken sink at the top of the tower, which takes so time but it’s worth it, and grows his flowers again.

TW FOR: derealization kinda?? you walk into your house, drenched from rain, you place your coat on the coat rack, you sigh, "i have way to many coats" you say, "i mean come on im the only one who lives here i dont need this many coats!!" you sigh again as you walk into the kitchen to make food. You decided on what you wanted to eat, collected your ingriedients, and started cooking! As you were cooking, he only sound in the house was the soft sizzle of the food on the pan, and your voice, humming a soft tune. You collected the food off the pan and put it on a plate, you enter your living room to watch some television. As you were eating you began to hear a faint sound of a piano, you become confused, "i dont have a piano.." you thought, "and i live alone...." you brushed it off, you thought you must have been hearing things, or that it might have been the television. After you had finished your food, you place the plate in the sink and go back into the living room to shut off the television. You were still hearing the piano, but you expected it to stop after you turned the television off. You could still hear the piano echoing through the building, "why is it still playing??" you asked yourself, "i turned the television off!" you became confused, and startled, "i have to find where its coming from..." you said to yourself as you start traveling through your home, following the sound of the ghostly piano. You began running down a hallway, the sound of the piano was getting louder and louder as you ran, it didnt seem like you were going anywhere though, but you kept running. After running for what seemed like hours, you still had gotten no where, you look back, to see the same thing as what was in front of you, an endless void of nothingness, you decided to try to go back, but there was no hope, you were stuck running in an endless hallway as time goes on listening to the dreadful pianos music for the rest of time.. i didnt know what to put for the ending so im sorry if its bad o_O" Remember to hydrate and eat something! ily! I literally almost cried at my first attempt of genocide, which turned out to be the neutral route, and my heart sank after I killed the first monster. Killing Toriel was what made me quit the first time! After that I tried it 2 more times just to find out at my last attempt that it was a neutral route after sans confronted me. I did a reset and never tried genocide again. (killing papyrus was what made me quit the second time) :') I then did the true ending and didn't touch it for a long time because Flowey said that I should let them be happy. Welp my friend then visited and did an almost complete genocide-
