how was it wasting time, when we had greats like Sachin, Sidhu, Venkatesh Prasad, Ravi Shastri (he is a cool guy ) I know now. And so classy Manjrekar, Kumble, Harbhajan Singh. This was entertaining and i don't doubt Manoj Prabhakar but this kind of private testimony between people who knew each other very well should be taken with a grain of salt. People exaggerate and sai all kinds of things they don't actually remember just to be agreeable with a friend in a private conversation. There are obviously some in this series who give key and compelling evidence but ultimately the evidence is flimsy for any actual conviction although personally i do believe Kapil Dev offered Manoj Prabhakar money to underperform

What does the public do? The continue to respect these fixers - Azhar is a member of parliament, Kapil is still a legend. They told these two batsmen to just play and bat slowly, it might affect our runrate in the next match, so they batted cautiously. Fixing was done by the management like Wadekar, Azhar, Kapil, Jadedja.
Still I remember that match, I was in standard 5th in school in 1994. I was wondering how they didn't score, what happened to them, easy match for India but lost due to players inability to perform, I was scolding both Prabhakar and Mongia. 😂😆🤣😁😀

You're right. What happening in reality, some players fix match and spot... Some times this players banned temporarily then come back as administrator, commentator and coach.. Cronje is a gentleman that's why he accepted... Otherwise no one accepts and this days we are seeing some of them in commentary like jones, a jadeja, dev.. as administrator like azaruddin and lots of times as coach like akram, younis. Some of them is still playing like amir, sreesanth.

Prabhakar had a major attitude problem and was jealous of Kapil.. Prabhakar was an oversmart guy . I met him in ahmedabad in october 1987 along with vengsarkar and kiran more during Reliance world cup and it looked from prabhakar behaviour that he was the greatest thing happened on earth.

The funniest part of this was that Prabhakar was later found guilty. He was no less a chutiya than the rest of these other fixers it seems. But Kapil Dev is a lucky man for he got away with it completely.

I was a big fan of Kapil But there was one New Zealand cricketer who said a very big Indian allrounder offered money to lose match. He was willing to name person if BCCI asked. BCCI did nothing! It was clearly Kapil!

Manoj Prabhakar is having a world record of playing most matches as Opening Batsman cum Opening Bowler in both Test and ODI Matches. Go watch him and Nayan Mongia batting against West Indies 1994-95 match they throw away the match by not running the runs that were very easy. We never saw Kapil doing that. And guess what even Nayan was involved as per the reports and hence removed.

The disease of match fixing was prevalent and Gavaskar did not do anything, may be, he was also involved, but its clear that he also knew that it was happening in the team, Gavaskar is also responsible.
they let their actions do the talking as always. they made sure the board listened to their concerns and subsequently the tainted players were not allowed to play for INDIA. * for no reason * tainted players were not selected to play for INDIA again.....so, sachin / ganguly / dravid didnt make any public statements but they made sure their concerns are heard.

My dad and I were just watching this, and dad says, "You know how I know for sure Manoj Prabhakar is lying about Kapil Dev? He's claiming he offered him Rs 25 lakhs to underperform. He was never a match winner- he was just in the team because the Delhi reps on the BCCI demanded it. He had minimal talent- worse than Shastri. If Dev was going to bribe someone, he wouldn't go and try someone whom he despised- he'd have gone to Sidhu, who felt he owed him. Why would Dev try to do shady stuff with someone who he knew was jealous of him, who would do anything to smear him?"
Prabhakar might have been lot of things but he was one of the most important player in Indian team around 1990-93 period. He did not have the pace but he swung the ball around corners in helpful conditions and had a fairly good defensive technique. In 1992 world cup, he was, by far, India's most impactful bowler.

one important point to note is that the subject in question is not proved..did kapil dev really offer money for loosing the match to prabhakar??..neither siddhu said in the coveted operation that he heard anything nor nayan mongia and prashant vaidya did..although it seemed like prashant vaidya was cracking a joke at the end, he never really said anything in favor of manoj prabhakar...although I must say some the then members of the bcci (as it is shown) are making a comment on kapil dev & co, it does not look genuine as it completely looks like a bcci political game where everyone is targeting each other to bring them down..finally this whole sting operation does not prove anything..accepted the fact that azhar and jadeja were involved in some match fixing scandals and it was proved but kapil dev wasn't proved guilty (intentionally or genuinely).. hence he who is not proved guilty cannot be punished
