Using Faller 161773 Car System Sensors to drive a bistable relay to schedule traffic with Faller 161675 Stop Section.
The bistable relay is a ROCO 10019. As it needs a lot of current,
I used one NPN transistor to insulate each Faller sensor from the current peaks.
The 1N4007 rectifier diode is also used to prevent reverse over voltage from the relay and protect the transistor.

Is it possible to connect 2 of these electromagnets in series with a 12 volt transformer and bistable relay?
@2mes2mains
@2mes2mains Год назад
Well, I think these electromagnets need at least 12v to be powered, so if you want to drive two of them simultaneously they must be wired in parallel. But there will be twice current needed . And you can also add a 1N4007 in parallel to protect the relay from over voltage. But you know, this is an experiment, without warranty of reliability. Even if my stop section wiring is still ok now.

I don't have module 161677, so I really don't know , but it should be OK.

CIAO VOLEVO SAPERE IL RAGGIO MINIMO PER UNA CURVA GRAZIE
@2mes2mains
@2mes2mains 7 дней назад
@@elviotammurrello9108 Ciao, grazie per il commento. Faller consiglia un raggio minimo di 15 centimetri per una curva. Ma dipenderà anche dalla lunghezza dei veicoli che utilizzerete, utilitarie o camion lunghi.

hello, I wanted to ask you for information, I recently bought the carsystem kit and the faller 161651 traffic control module with 15 programs. I still don't quite understand how the programs work, however I positioned the first stopp-stellen in front of the level crossing and up to there everything is ok, the second stopp-stellen is 300 mm from the first but the second vehicle never stops and crashes into the first vehicle! the connections are right since I followed the scheme of the faller booklet. furthermore the electromagnets heat up immediately even if they are not active. they get very hot! the module is powered by the 16 vac faller power supply. Do you happen to have an idea what I'm doing wrong?
@2mes2mains
@2mes2mains Год назад
Well I think « stop-stelle » cannot be powered with AC current. This could explain the overheating of the magnets. I don’t know the traffic control module wirings. I don’t use it. You can try to put à rectifier in serial with each magnet (in the good direction) if you want to keep your AC supply.
@2mes2mains
@2mes2mains Год назад
In the 161675 manual :: "Die Stopp-Stelle muss mit gleichgerichteter 16V Wechselspannung betrieben werden. Das entspricht ca. 22V Gleichspannung." ==> "The stop point must be operated with rectified 16V AC voltage. This corresponds to approx. 22V DC voltage." (as you can see on my video, 12v DC already seems sufficient)

@@2mes2mains The faller power supply that I bought has the 16 volts ac output that goes to the 161651 TC module. Unfortunately the latter that I recently purchased has problems with 5 outputs. When the electromagnet is activated by the sensor, it is no longer deactivated and consequently the respective electromagnet overheats. I think I'll send it back to faller and have it replaced with one that works properly.

@@BARRY77fullgas Hoping it will be ok ! The Car System instructions are not very clear in the manuals ...

Hello, I wanted to ask you one last piece of information: at the end of the work when it will be necessary to apply the filler on the road, can it be easily passed on the various switches and coils (161675 etc..) or must something be applied first? like a cardboard or a circle of thin plastic, to ensure that they do not get dirty with the putty? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O7UiC3mZ-Vg.html

I did not take any particular precaution except perhaps if I remember, a thin layer of varnish as on the guide wire of the vehicles to prevent the appearance of rust. For me, it was some of the first experiences with the Car System. And since it worked well, I didn't go any further. I don't think dust damages these elements. It is now up to you to experiment with the installation of these items, I am sure that you will find the solution that satisfies you. At first, I thought it was much more complicated, but in fact everything went well. Thank you for your interest in my videos. Thanks for watching, hope this helps. 👍

@@2mes2mains ok, of course these type of videos are helping me a lot since I'm also a neophyte in the carsystem. if you watch this video in the link of another youtuber, he applied the white putty directly on the magnetic coil! do you think it can be good? Or would it be more appropriate to first apply a shaped card over the magnetic coil and only then apply the white putty?
@2mes2mains
@2mes2mains Год назад
@@BARRY77fullgas I also put plaster directly on the top of the items. Maybe put a thin varnish before, I don’t remember.
@BARRY77fullgas
@BARRY77fullgas Год назад
@@2mes2mains A varnish? however if something were to happen to the magnetic coil for example burn out, obviously to replace it you will have to break the plaster, right?

@@BARRY77fullgas absolutely ! But the plaster is easily removed and repaired
