@@ISuckatHiking While training for the hike did you do anything with Leo to toughen up his pads on his paws? They must be getting quite a workout with all this rough terrain and miles? Yeah good to see the gruesome twosome tearing it up in some trying conditions. I have this ethos when I hike that “if it happens once, it’ll happen again” when it comes to all little slips, trips and falls… awesome to see you guys cosy in your tent. Stay strong & God-bless!

At 11:27 Leo gave you a look like, “what’s taking you so long to get up this hill?” The fall you described where one leg slid and the other hung up under you…I did that in October last year. Seven months of slow rehab and I’m still not 100%. I literally feel your pain on that one. And it happens so quick.

Hi Mike, Last Sunday was a nasty weather day here in NH! I was thinking about you and Leo all afternoon and praying you were both safe. There was a F1 tornado that touched down in Dublin, due south of where you were, East of the Mt Monadnock area. Not gonna lie, I'm kind of glad you had to slow down. Not saying that you aren't capable, but you have to go into the Whites strong and not exhausted. The Whites are tough, but so worth it. Yesterday (Friday) was an absolute bluebird day down here in Central NH and I was hoping that you might be summiting Washington or be close to it Fingers crossed you get to see all of the views. A saying we have here, "Welcome to NH. If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute!" I'm really bummed that I was stuck at work all week and for the next few days. Stay safe and enjoy what you have left of NH!!

From your shoe video, it sounds like maybe your needs are pretty specific, but when you've got a gash in your shoe, and the replacement is 3-4 days away, it makes me think of a stopgap measure, like grabbing whatever you can from the boneyard at the nearest sporting goods store or kohls or discount shoe warehouse or whatever. Throughout my hiking career, I've had amazing luck this way and have got away with serviceable hikers for $5-$40. Once I even got a pair for free, some random steel toed leather OSHA certified work boots that a plant worker gave me because they were half a size small for him. Every single time, I think there's no way some random shoe won't murder my feet, and every time, they've worked out great. Then when I carefully pick "real" hikers and pay full price, they seem to always suck. Unexplainable, but I thought I'd throw it out there. Could at least keep you going till Wednesday. 😊

The trail and mother nature has really been testing you, eshh. Leo looks like hes got it in 4 wheel drive pulling you through the trail. And when he turns around I can only imagine what hes thinking lol. Has Leo ever been on a long hiking trip before this? Hes such a good boy and looks like he loves being on trail❤ Have you considered finding a trail angel that could pick up your shoes and drive further up trail so you wouldn't have to slow down? Praying for better conditions and safety on trail for both of you. But you guys have done great even in the worst of challenges.💪 ❤ to Leo ✌️🫶

My dog has short hair & 'thin skin'. So far every pack I have bought her either won't adjust to fit correctly or chaffs badly....but she LOVES exploring new places in the woods with me.
