This was the first game I picked out as a 5 year old in a GameStop at the mall in 2000. Probably the first piece of Japanese media I was ever exposed to. It took me googling “original PlayStation game dog man in mech suit” to be able to find out what the title was. It was easily something I could’ve dreamed up. I’m glad this game wasn’t a figment of my imagination.
Same here! Think my mom bought it for me for a holiday or something and I remember being absolutely blown away by the art style and how adorable the whole game was. Definitely my only exposure to the anime style as a kid, because aside from this it was Soul Reaver and Abe's Odyssey all the way. Definitely primed me to be a weeb in adulthood 😂
The moment I first heard Waffle's voice, All I could think of was Omochao's "PRESS THE 'B' BUTTON TO DO A SOMERSAULT" from Sonic Adventure 2. I'm glad to know that I wasn't wrong to think that.
Tail concerto doesn't do anything groundbreaking or new, but it has so much charm, character, and sincerity, that it elevates playing this game from an activity to an experience.
Hey man, so I watched a little bit of this video and decided to go play the game and I just wanted to say it kicked ass and genuinely thanks for the game recommendation. Short but sweet unique platformer.
Tail Concerto's intresting cause its far more light hearted and cartoony compared to Solatorobo and Fuga, which are fairly darker with villains that are far less harmless, Fuga ESPECIALLY so. Looking forward to what you have to say about thse games once you play them :3
I really love the fact you let scenes play out In this video some people may see it as padding but I love it you really allow the viewer to get absorbed in this cute little world
Hey, just wanna thank you for introducing me to this series. Currently playing Solatorobo right now and I'm really loving the charm of it. Had to sold my liver for a copy on Amazon. But grocery stores are so convenient nowadays, you can just get a replacement anywhere
Solatorobo was one of the first games I really vibed with on the DS. Its got this honest 90's anime feel despite coming out in 2010 and that's just so endearing.
the absolute mental boom you gave me with the dev history behind this game. I used to watch escaflown with my mom, watched my sister play this game many times, and have fuga memories of steel on my wish list, but never made the connection between these things. epic dude
37:25 Ah yes, I remember PS1 era where both horror and cartoon games had a lot of Canadian voice actors. Certainly had their distinctive slang. Tail Concerto is my favorite comfort game. Played this when I had a fever back then and by tomorrow I recovered afterwards. Nostalgic time.
I really hope you do a video on Solarorobo sometime. It was just as charming and enjoyable as Tail Concerto for me, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot recently. I’d really like to hear your thoughts on it.
Hadn’t heard about this series until Tim Rogers recommended Fuga: Melodies of Steel. Happy I bumped into this channel. Hopefully you’ll be popping into more folk’s recommendations.
Thank you so much for making this video. I love Tail Concerto from the bottom of my heart and I've been doing my everything to get it noticed. This game deserves the love it rarely gets, it's mostly nothing but people who refuse to play it because of the English dialogue. But I love the English dub, it improved a lot of the script in-game and made me love the characters even more. So much that I translated it and dubbed it to my own language. Tail Concerto is what I love about video games, art, music and FURRIES. There's so much you can do with them and this game does that. Again, thanks for the great video. I loved watching it. ^^
ahh makes me so happy to see people talking about this game!! this game is just full of charm and deserves more attention than it has recieved! also i was curious if you planned to maybe cover Solatorobo in the future?
I don’t think I wanna make any statements on future videos on this channel, I barely plan them out and I don’t like promising things, but I will say Solatorobo and Fuga are fantastic and if I end up gaining a decent following on youtube I would like to do everything in my power to make people give a shit about Little Tail Bronx because I adore the series :3
@@Lute01 ahh that's totally understandable!!! Eityer way I'm just really happy to see someone cover this game! Feels it's a bit less known than the others in the series. I definitely love your style of making videos so I'll absolutely stick around and see what you come up with in the future!!
I had this on a ps1 JamPack back in the day and I loved it. Ever since then the name has been lost to me. Thank you for this unintentional dose of overwhelming nostalgia
I didn't play Tail Concerto until high school back in the late 2000s. I've played this game multiple times since then and it never bores me. Its like comfort food. I've been trying for years to get the US version but its too expensive
i’ve been thinking about it tbh. might be in the cards for next year. i’m working on two videos right now that will probably take up all my time for the rest of the year but i want people to give a shit about little tail bronx so bad lmao
Glad to find this video, and to see this game getting covered. Liked and subbed. From what you've covered so far and your recommended channels, I'm sure I'm gonna have a great time following your work.
Sir Lute, I hope that you’re able to review Skies of Arcadia… after this great video, you’ve introduced me to a world that’s often overlooked in gaming; cozy JRPGs/action adventures. Love the content!
If you want a game that kinda scratches this same itch it gives me some hard-core Tomba/Tomba 2 (especially 2) vibes. Also Brave Fencer Musashi! They don't have as many adorable animal people but they're still similar to this aesthetic. Love your videos as always.
Yay, ive been waiting for some good content about this game since I played it some months ago, it deserves more attention. It's so cute and charming, it seems like the kinda product that would spawn a small but super dedicated fanbase. Cool video. I love the idea and aesthetic of the Little Tail Bronx series. By the way, the missiles you talk about at 44:20 can be grabbed and thrown back at the boss if I remember right.
Such a hidden gem on the PlayStation 1! I wished i had the chanced to play it when i bused to owned the console back in my childhood. Thanks for the awoseam video, my dude!
Great video! Loved the Gigi Masin plug, I listened to a little bit of "Wind" and added it to my Spotify rotation. I'd already added "Serenity" that you recommended in one of your other videos. You make some pretty chill music recs, man. I'm really enjoying them.
This really needs a remake imo. Not having the ability to control the camera hurts the game a lot. Also, might just be me, but the amount of time you got invincibility post-hit wasn't enough
cool to hear about this game after I played solatorobo from a friend's recommendation, these games are so weirdly good yet hidden its such a shame barely anyone I know seems to know about them. definitely going to check out fuga too its already in my steam library. anyways youre pretty cool and based for this :)
Bruh this game and Klonoa gotta be fucking with my feelings for real ps1 one games with dreamy and somber tones are my favorite especially with cute animal dude's
Really enjoying your videos, got recommended the Earthbound Zero video but checked out the other ones since I haven't played it yet. Keep up the amazing work!
Man your editing style and all the cool little Easter eggs you add in (like that photo of ullillilia) are great. I’m honestly shocked you don’t have more subscribers, you have serious talent. Please keep it up!!
I feel like Tail Concerto would have been a game that, while I would have fond memories growing up with it, I'd probably be stuck not too far in the game, because that happened a lot with the games I played at a young age, sadly, I'll never know if what I say is true, as this was a game we missed. I nearly had a heart attack looking at the prices for the game on eBay, but I do hope this game could get added to the PlayStation Plus Classics Collection, because if we can get an unlikely return of the Toy Story 2 PS1 game, then we shouldn't count this out as a possible candidate.
Glad I wasn't the only one when it came to finding the character of Stare Pris to be interesting. Her personality is what intrigued me of the three in the plot. They're all cool though.
Holy shit. This is the game! I thought this game was a fever dream. I played it on the demo disc and thought it was the weirdest thing I had ever seen.
Like bro, your channel is so young and I literally discovered you 1 day ago and you already have great content!! Your content is the best to listen to while doing art homework- keep it up!! 👍 A suggestion: I love your gaming content, but I’m interested on your opinions on other media, like TV shows and movies… great work none the less‼️
happy you enjoy the vids! i definitely have a lot of games i wanna talk about, but maybe in the future i’ll branch out towards other things, i dunno yet! i’ll definitely just continue to do whatever i want, i think the videos will stay fun that way.
That "he smells like fish" line was lost to the translators. It's actually a Japanese saying "Sakana Kusai" is an expressionnfor being suspicious... but its a fun pun because they are cats and cats eat fish.
One of my most cherished PS1 memories, Tail Concerto is basically an unofficial Studio Ghibli adventure. Which is crazy, since the sequels are so much darker!
Lmao, after learning the lore of the whole saga, I get why Alicia would want her cat people only country, even if there seems to be peace between both species. Abyssinia after the hundred lilies war was a shitstorm, and let's not forget the bullshit the Bermans pulled against the felineko.
Been binge watching your videos. But this game was awesome with a lot of charm. Its kinda like Tomba! for me. One of those Jam Pack demo disc games I was to poor as a kid to buy but played the shit out of the demos.
I also haven't played FF7 classic, i got to the point where Jessie shows me the 3D map of Midgar and that shit is good, I was really engaged in the atmosphere of the game. that was in 2020 right before FF7 Remake and i still remember that fondly. edit: it's not that FF7R is worse i just play it and feel like the game is new. it plays. after some fun cool and funny moments i get an uneasy feeling that it has a charm problem, so i'm still stuck in ch.13. the game is overwhelming with money, but it's not what i like, or looking forward to, because there are some games that i never played but know them forever, but can't really play because they look too good for me, like The Misadventure of Tron Bonne, a game i know nothing but it looks too charming and i want it or Wizardry 8 or Crazy Taxi and more.
Just went back through this game again. You can actually grab the missiles and flying bombs if you have good enough timing. It makes some bosses a lot easier
Honestly? Everything CC2 does is amazingly well done and of top notch quality. Their stories they tell are almost always so compelling and honestly? Fuga right now is their crowned Jewel and I HOPE the sequel next month delivers an amazing story just like the first. It's amazing to see their dedication of damn near 30 years to the Little Tail Bronx world with how despite their lack of success they have faith and PASSION for their work, a quality not many game studios have nowadays. I wish there was an easy way for me to experience Tail Concerto and Solaboroto but it's videos like these I can at least gain an appreciation for them.
