The Ghoul definitely took the 'Bloody Mess' perk. Also, I'm pretty sure that first gunfight was a nod towards the V.A.T.S. feature in the game, even though the Ghoul doesn't have a Pipboy.
3:46 in Fallout 4 especially, those turrets are notorious for the inability to hit the broad side of a bus. They're one of those things where you round a corner, it sprays, you say "oh f-" and dive for cover, then pop out and blast it, lol.
Another excellent show with Ella Purnell in one of the lead roles is Arcane. It’s not sci-fi (probably; it depends on what definition you use) but it feels very sci-fi, being set in the most technologically advanced city on a fantasy world, going through a tumultuous time of technological experimentation and societal unrest.
She is kinda slaying the video game adaptation genre... She absolutely crushed it as Jinx and she is incredible in this show as well:) She has a very bright future.
@@BigSeth1090 it would also make sense in the setting. Landfills tend to be away from cities, that are now irradiated craters, and full of junk to be salvaged. I picture something like a mining operation digging through the layers looking for useful materials.
My headcanon is that Dogmeat is a traditional name for dogs, like Spot or Rover, but is specifically for adopted strays. Also..."The most humane product Vault-Tec ever made." The sad thing is, that's probably literally true.
I came from a time pre Bethesda Fallout, played 1-2 and Tactics and loved the world building there. Great stuff. I also really appreciated the Bethesda World as well, how true to the original they kept it (mostly) and even took over the quirks and dark humor of the old ones. This series stays true to all of that, and takes itself and the world not too serious, like the games did as well. It makes it feel authentic to the original while still telling it's own story. I love the cast, sets, music and humor here, top notch. What a great show and what huge fun for fans and newcomers alike. This is how you make a great realization of a (game) franchise.
This show definitely stands on its own, but when I realized that Jonathan Nolan directed Westworld too, I was like that makes SO MUCH sense. From the dystopian Western+futuristic vibes, to the extreme violence, to the unfolding mystery across time at the story's heart, this reminds me a lot of Westworld. (or at least early Westworld) Also, Ella Purnell is officially now a star in two of the best video game adaptations out there! Echoing others that you should definitely react to Arcane--seems right up your alley.
so in fallout 4 those Gatling turrets are a defense thing you can build to protect your base. they never HIT SHIT... the missing him and doggo was an inside joke.
Settled by survivors from there, likely, but Fillmore is on the other side of LA from Santa Monica, where Vault 33 is. So it's some distance from the original city.
Your exclamations about "the violence" has me wondering about your reaction to the movie _'Dredd'_ starring Karl Urban. I didn't see it in a quick check of your playlists. I recommend it to you.
0:17 yet still you kept it! good on you! 1:31 I wonder if he will be found... 10:27 yeah, that Knight bravely ran away. 25:01 is this some meet cute or what? 😍 26:14 If you don't like this, you're not gonna stomach what's coming...
@@WarpReactor I was refering to the pencil sharpener of a limb replacement just the moment later, but I think it will do you best to steel yourself nonetheless. I am really enjoying your reaction my friend!
New subbie. Had never heard of the game but the trailer intrigued me. AMAZING series nonetheless. Love this series, can't wait for season 2 which was recently announced. Great reaction!
If you are a fan of Michael Emerson (and for that matter Jonathan Nolan), you should check out Person of Interest. I know you have a lot on your plate right now, but it would be great to see you react to it.
Just starting the reaction but saw someone mention Person of Interest. I wanted to second that suggestion and get it on your radar. As a Sci Fi fan I think you'd really enjoy it. Plus the concepts explored are very cool. Okay back to the reaction lol
I played 1 and 2 (can't remember if I played 3) and the first hour or two of 4. Haven't even touched '76 and New Vegas but I've heard good things about New Vegas. Someone told me that they had improved '76 quite a bit but initially I heard it was a weaker offering than the others.
@@WarpReactor 1 and 2 are great games and you probably don’t need much more to catch up on the lore for this show. I mean except for some small stuff that happened between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave in 3 and then the thing that happened between the NCR and the Caesar’s Legion in New Vegas. LoL
@@WarpReactor Fallout 4 is a decent looter-shooter with light RPG elements. Modded Survival mode is actually highly entertaining, challenging and satisfying way to play the game, can't recommend it enough. Fallout New Vegas is still one of the best RPG's ever made in any genre. Fallout 3 is dated but still has that gloriously wacky world and atmosphere that just works.
@@minkalampinen9519I'll second this comment though Id add that I really like the settlement system in FO4. I enjoyed building up the network of settlements and in the process see the Commonwealth come alive with lights with enemies steadily replaced with traders, caravans and patrols on the roads.
"How is that missing him" 😂 They are making fun of these turrets that are completely useless if you build them (seriously - a lot of resources no results) - I think 🤔
I have very spotty knowledge of the game - hardly know anything except - apocalypse, pitboy and vault dweller. I'm glad they didn't John Wick the dog. Outside of a vague Last of Us feel, the only thing I'm reminded of is 2018 God of War - Wilzig is going to have a form of the Mimir arc. I can only hope the God oF War adaptation is this good. Maybe Filly is ironic - because that didn't seem to be the city of brotherly love.
The dog dying would be very much in character for the games. Sad reality is that Dogmeat basically never survives without some massive shenanigans since you have so little control over companions in the first two games.
