Something I love about fallout 3 is how if someone is too close to the player they won't use a heavy weapon like a launcher or fat man. I learned that in the Anchorage DLC.

There's a great mod called 'Explosive Weapons MOD', which makes the following weapons have explosive ammo. I've done several playthroughs with it and its the most fun I've had in Fallout 3. Huh, that’s the one thing Bethesda went backwards with in terms of combat in Fallout 4. In that game, NPCs will use a Fatman even if they would kill themselves when using it, apparently not in Fallout 3!
Before the update, in order to fix the defunct Games for Windows Live you had to download a program from online that when launched would find FO3's .exe then turn off the Games for Windows Live and you never had to do it again unless you were reinstalling the game that you forget it was a thing. Maybe Bethesda had a conscience and decided to finally fix this or they have other plans for Fallout 3 and aren't ready to let it die yet.

Amazes me that the AI knows how to angle the mini-nukes in any capacity to account for distance. I wish they appeared so much more often because of this, learning to prioritize targets is a fun reminder when one of your adversaries is carrying a portable nuke.
