In this video I show how to wire up most automated doors to operate on 2 switches, Please Thumbs up the video if you found it helpful and feel free to subscribe while your at it! :)
After 2 years of trying to figure it out i finally decided that it is time to turn to youtube and find a solution to open the garage door both ways. Thank You sir.
Your 2 minute video had me succeed quicker than some guys 40 minute video with millions of views i was scratching my head at for over 5 hrs. Thank you for a simple design!
How do you get the one switch on the other side of the door? Like inside the room you've put the door on the edge of? The wires can't go through the wall...
Thank you so much for this! I'd never used logic gates before. Like, mind blown. lol. FYI; I used delayed off switches in place of the regular, so my doors close automatically after a delay! No more pesky settlers in my bedroom! LOL
Thank you for watching, happy I was able to help you, and that was a good idea with the delayed switches. I have done hidden target switches in same way to open city gates with a well placed shot.
Thanks this was pissing me off but i had to use the wire glitch, I'd use mods but I'm 2 trophies off the platinum and i heard ya can't get it if ya use mods, the wire glitch worked perfectly fine 😁
Did you used the right logic gate? Unless its been patched which I don't think it has, you should be able to rug glitch the wires through walls, or atleast pass it through a window to get it to the other side. As long as everything is wired up as it was in the video, it should work. Maybe recheck wiring and connections. Is the power source going in the proper conduit? I'm sorry to hear your having issues with it.
Did you tie main power feed into the proper connector? Are you using the right logic gate? You need a NAND logic gate. Also make sure you have ample power as well. Check those and let me know if that fixes it.
I've wired up this exactly as shown, but when I attempt to move 1 switch to the interior I am unable to place it on any thing. I assume it is due to the wires going through the wall?
Have you try using the pedestal switch and using the rug glitch to move it in place that way, or you could try to feed the wire through a mesh floor or window.
If you are on console try using the switch on pole and use the rug glitch to move it into position, if you are on pc download the place everywhere mod. If you still have issues let me know.
@@twitch2156 oh thanks for the reply, I’ve deleted the specific door I was using this on cuz I was having a really hard time with doors for some reason. (Yes even after 3 months)
It wlnt work through my wall Lol (I dont know how to fix this I tried putting a condit on the ceiling then connecting it to the other side just woldnt work)
What console are you on? If you can get a place anywhere alternative that will help. If not you can try rug or pillar glitches and switch the switch to the pillar switch and see if you can get it to the other side if they have not been patched. Other wise a vanilla solution would be to place a windowed wall next to door and switch and feed the line through said window. Hope this helps.
@@twitch2156 Im on a Xbox series X. Currently building in the first neighborhood you start the game in. You got me a lot further than I would’ve been solo so thank you for that. Sorry I was being stupid, I was able to put a switch on both sides and wired it like you showed with a generator. I hit the button and hear the switch sound but door remains open. The only way I can get it to shut for now is cutting the power from it. I’ll throw you a sub for the help.
change wall switch to switch on pole and use rug glitch to move it to the other side, or download place every mods for respective consoles. hope that helps. If that doesn't work let me know.
It would have bin nice if you mentioned what mods your using since your clearly not playing an unmodded game. You can place the conduit wherever and when I try to move the switch to the other side I can't.
EAKendalP change wall switch to switch on pole and use rug glitch to move it to the other side, or download place every mods for respective consoles. hope that helps.

I came up with the same setup, but it's a bit clunkier than this. Great video! I can't believe Bethesda didn't include a door that can't be used on both sides 🤦🏾♂️
Thank you. I have a couple of garage doors that I want to power without the extremely clunky looking generators having to be right next to the building. I'll give this a try.
Wow. Thank you! I should have just looked this up an hour ago. I always wanna figure it out myself. But I end up with some wonkie setups. And if anyone wants some ideas for modding on your PS4, with building as a focus (for our limited abilities and space...) I have scrap mods like STS, STC, and USO+UCO. Now I have CVA added to that. Oh, and Place anywhere tools. I am addicted to building, so most of my mods have to do with that. Workshop anywhere is fun too since I love to fiddle with everything. I get in trouble when I delete a wall or floor by accident, and the great white beyond shines in. That causes unexpected issues... Lol. Always save. Hard saves are best, don't depend on quicksaves, or auto saves only. And if modding is making stuff really go haywire, try looking up load order info. We have to keep that load order properly organized, or it's going to cause issues. Not to mention the fact that proper organization allows you to have even more mods. If you knew this already, then good! I'm just hoping to save a few people a bit of frustration. Lol
Not sure... as you can see in the vid it doesnt take much the operate the door. Possibly a glitch or settlement error. try turning off all power sources if you can and starting them back up? i have had power issues with settlements b4 thats why i say it may be a glitch.
Thank you sir! Only issue I had was placing the switch on the other side of the wall, as it didn't go through. Managed to connect it through a warehouse window to the other side at least

Idk wat ur being thanked for, it dont even work. I set it all up exactly like that n switches have power yet when I hit it they do nothin. Ur doin something wrong, n I hate videos that dont even talk, I ain't here to read
