I believe if you "store all junk" in the workshop, it'll auto break down materials to craft whatever you are trying to. This saves all the time where you do not have to break down each item individually.
@@jonathanmiller5958 I have 1000 hours in this game. I have never manually broken down junk. You just put it in a workbench or your inventory. Either way it is broken down automatically.
@@erikrothbaum3258 There is a problem with scrapping that way. With a flip lighter for example, if the object being built requires steel it can use the item but the oil that is in the lighter will be lost. Late game it is not a big deal but early on manually scrapping items can be useful especially if the item contains circuitry, oil, ballistic weave and the like that are sometimes hard to obtain items.
I love watching somebody play fallout 4 for the first time. I've got over 10,000 hours in this game so I light getting that feeling back from the first time I played it. Love your content.
I also have many a thousand hours on fallout 4. It's great watching you learn .. I'll be watching until the end.. 1st.. VATS is your friend.. 2nd . Shoot gouls in the leg. 3rd. VATS is your friend.. I know 1 and 3 are the same but it's worth knowing. I'm 16 minutes in so maybe you learned it. (I'm watching on ps5 so can't always comment but I'll be here shouting advice to the screen but im a firm believer of NO SPOILERS .. Good luck Mike the gaming dad. I'll be right by your side as you traverse the commonwealth. Good luck and Atom bless you :)
@gazdale2598 thank you yeah I need to properly play around with VATS. I believe it's great both as a battle aid as well as navigation. I need to practice targeting enemies with it
@mike-thegamingdad I'm now on 52 minutes.. Hehe I cant wait to see how your story progresses. Another thing I tend to do is hold out on using you're level up points until you have to use them. Hold off sometimes. You can stack them until you find out how have a need for them .. A great man said, when you need it and don't have it you sing a different tune
All Preston is good for wanting things done and never lifting a finger to help. Sole survivor is over 210 years old and making beds for a bunch of entitled brats. Great video.
Haha so true, I've recently sent him off to wait at the castle. I have no intention of going and retaking it just yet, but it stops him constantly giving me stuff to do 🤣
btw there is a chem station behind the 2nd house as you come into sanctuary,go into workshop mode and you can pick it up and move it to where you want your work stations be careful not to scrap them as they are far down in the skill tree before you can build them for yourself
Haven't seen it mentioned so another tip. When considering what's junk to be scrapped keep an eye on the items value. Some items are better sold then scrapped. 2 examples are packs of cigarettes and pre war money. I never scrap these but sell them instead as they fetch a good price. Also spend some time running around new outposts scrapping for materials. Can scrap almost everything from buildings, cars, trees, brush and a whole lot more. Wealth of mats to be had. Loving the playthrough. 👌
Okay will do thank you 👍🏻 think I scrapped a lot of those already. Yeau I've seen others mention you can scrap cars and stuff. I need to spend some time sorting out the houses in Sanctuary as I was struggling to get the beds in. May as well clear the houses out so i can place stuff better
@@mike-thegamingdad also gold and silver items, not seen it mentioned that you can store EVERYTHING in your workshop. food and Aid making items and food storage, etc...
A good place to pause there at the end! I won’t give anything away, but you’re in for an adventure in the Corvega Plant. 😉 So satisfying watching you play for the first time. I found myself talking to the screen a time or two. LOL! You’ll figure it out and the that’s part of the fun. One suggestion, to save you a great deal of pain, is to transfer all junk to your workstation. No need to drop it on the floor and scrap it. Workstations will do it for you when you build items or repair armor/weapons. Hope you’re having fun with the game!
Thanks! A few others have mentioned on the junk bit, that if you use items and there is a surplus of items, those will be lost? So for example if something contains multiple ingredients and what you are making uses one of those..if the others aren't used, they aren't broken down instead they are wasted. Do you know if that is true? Yeah I'm loving it so far, really good fun 😁👍🏻
@@mike-thegamingdad Oooooh…I had not heard that parts are lost. I have seen the “spare” parts sent to the workstation inventory, noted by a game message at the upper left. Sorry to hear if others have experienced differently. Fallout4, like Skyrim, can be a bit glitchy as they say. Like the deer that popped through the tracks on you. 😆 I wouldn’t let it bother you. Junk and fusion cores are so plentiful in the game, I’ve never lacked anything in my personal playthroughs. 😃
I'm roughly 30 minutes in🙈 I've been on Fallout 4 on the PS4 and Steam both...for about 2 years straight now. I didn't want to skip ahead to episode 3 to see if you've gotten feedback, but you don't want to scrap all of your junk items. You can, but if you continue to do that, and build a settlement, there's a ever increasing chance of crashing your game. Idk how long you'll play for, but there's a build limit on every settlement you can obtain. Scrapping items manually will make the mechanic think that you can build that much more. Store junk, and mods in the workshop. As you build the workshop will break the resources you need down from the items stored. Love the channel and happy building ✌️❤️
I realize this is a new game to you, I keep grinding my teeth when you go past obvious stuff to scrap. I did the same when I first started, but now I would be going in build mode and scrap the entire location I am in to get all the scrap I need, wish this was multiplayer cause I'd be next to you pointing thing out....Have a great time with this and all Fallout games!!
Great videos! Watching you experince the fallout universe for the first time is so nastolgic for me! Theres so much i want to put in comment of what you should do but i think that would ruin the fun of discovering things for yourself! Have fun playing!
If a power core runs out it will completely disappear from you inventory but if you let them burn down to under 10% they can be sold to traders for the same price as a full powered one
im pretty sure theres also a perk that lets you eject fusion cores that will over heat and explode like a small nuclear explosion. useful if your ever in a tough situation. Works well when being chased by a horde of ferals.
Even better, you can go as low as 1% (displayed as 1/100 in game) and still get full price. I think it’s even theoretically possible to go down to “0%” because of the classic video game mechanic where you really have one last life when you have “0 lives”
@mikeburke8772 it is possible to get them to 1% and still sell them just becareful I lost a few trying this as the power cores cam run out if you don't keep an eye on them
Eventually you end up with loads of fusion cores, there is also a perk to make them last longer as well so it does become less of an issue keeping track.
In one of my playthroughs I turned red rocket into a power armor museum 😂 I collected every set of power armor I could find 😂 and just a small bit of info, dogmeat is based on a German shepherd named River. Broken piece's of power armor are in your inventory it can all be repaired at a power armor station 👍
Nice so there are lots more you find then that's good, I did assume that, that was why I initially took the fusion core out of this first one. Felt like I should probably have those on me in case I find a new suit 🤣
@@mike-thegamingdadits best to take them out ... if you're settlement gets raided and the fusion core is in the suit your settlers will get into the suit and use it ... and might end up destroying it
Enjoying the series! All the options and choices can be overwhelming in your first playthrough. Don't worry about trying to min/max everything and every decision, as it will work out as you proceed. One suggestion, quicksave often as you can load those quicksaves when something doesn't go as planned. If you die, you will be set back to your last save (either autosave by game, quicksave or new save). Good luck!
Also V.A.T.S, is your best friend when wandering as it can detect enemies when you can’t see them, also it’s good for combat. I noticed in episode 1 when you were in the vault it told you about V.A.T.S and you didn’t see the prompt 😂 n the XBOX controller just keep tapping LB button and if there is an enemy it will highlight them, then with the right stick you can change the target of where you want to shoot, can select a few shots on the same target or select different shots for different targets, then it does the shooting for you. Secondly, look at your compass at the bottom of the screen, it shows your where your next objective is by placing a little marker in the direction you want be going, sags you having to go into the map to see where you are going. I also highlights other locations as you get closer to them, different symbols mean different types of locations.
@@mike-thegamingdad Once you get the hang of it, you develop a play style. I don't use VATS at all for combat, but its great for detecting landmines nearby.
Love this series. Started following you today but binged episode 1 & 2. This game is a ton of fun with a crazy ending! Can’t wait to see how you maneuver through it!
Thanks very much I'll likely film episode 4 across tonight and tomorrow night as I plan on doing more building at Sanctuary do doubt I'll get it all done in one shoot 🤣
Watching this makes me want to pick up the game again. I got it last May and was satisfied once I got the hang of it. I'm more into fantasy games, but this game is very flexible in terms of the kind of build you want to create and the dialog. There are fewer people in this game than Skyrim, so the devs took more time to flush out their stories and interactions. Remember you can fast travel if you want to go back somewhere and dump your goods. However, time also moves forward. Good luck.
Thanks I'm glad you are enjoying it, yeah I thought about fast travel but with it being my first time I'd rather walk and discover, that way I won't miss as much hopefully 😁
I found your F4 lets play today. I've been playing this game since it first came out. I've never bothered throwing things on the ground to scrap them unless I need more room in my settlement. But after reading some of the comments I am going to start scrapping the stuff with more than one important resource. I thought the game kept unused resources after an item is scrapped but it sounds like it doesn't. I hope you run with companions, some of them give you a lot of quests. I love watching someone play F4 for the first time. You're doing good!
Thanks a lot! There's been a fair bit of confusion around that, a lot of people said the components are still kept they just aren't immediately visible. I've not tested it myself, but recently I've not been breaking it all down as I've had so much stuff it would have taken ages 🤣
You know you can fast travel between locations that you’ve already been to? Just select from the map where you’d like to go and it will ask if you want to fast travel and just say yes. Saves a lot of walking around.
@@mike-thegamingdad I have played for years and thousands of hours, back before I started playing Survival mode only, I still rarely fast travelled, you never know what you might stumble on that you missed before, so kudos to you
@@mike-thegamingdadYeah I noticed in the first episode you missed where they explained it to you because you had your gun out but saw it was just roaches and you switched to your baton which caused the tip to go away quickly.
@Savage_87 yeah I completely missed that tutorial, I've had a go at it in episode 3. Felt a bit awkward at first but I feel more comfortable with it now and understand the numbers do mean probability. Guess I need to start investing points to up those numbers 🤣
@Savage_87 I was not prepared for whatever that was, the game told me I was fighting bandits, the next thing that giant monster appears from underground 🤣. I encountered a Yao Guai or whatever its called in episode 3. Not prepared for all these things 🤣
Be careful what you do around your companions. Some of them don’t like certain things. If you gain their affection you get a special perk. If you do too much they don’t like it won’t happen and enough will make them leave haha! Another great video!

Wait fr? I’ve made codsworth mad a handful of times 😭😭
Ha that is interesting, I'll try and be nice for now then, gonna need some friends. When I know what I'm doing and/or feel stronger I might be an ass to certain people I don't like 🤣
Good idea to roam and look for houses. There are a fair number of unmarked locations around the world. Example - Concord Speak Easy, on the main road near the Museum of Freedom. Some good stuff in there and its not a discoverable place.
One important note - item locations respawn. So that safe you just picked (24.:30) in a few game days, will respawn, and you can loot it again. Most locations will respawn after several game days, but a few locations never respawn. As you progress in the game, keep checking locations you have previously checked. Oh, and NICE kill on the Deathclaw!! First try? Heck, my first play through, I used up all the minigun ammo on the raiders, then the Deathclaw killed my. When I "respawned", sill out of minigun ammo, but was able to use the vehicles as bombs. Draw the Deathclaw near a vehicle, shoot the vehicle, and the Deathclaw takes damage.
Good to know thank you! Yeah first time encountering one of those, I wasn't going near it that's for sure 😂 played enough alien encounter type games to know get close to something like that and have your head ripped clean off 😅. Thankfully with a mini gun I could stand back and deliver lol. The car explosions are a good strategy though, one blew up shortly after and destroyed my suit arm
My names mike as well and i named my character mike. Im going through fallout 4 again and i like putting this on in the background while im playing, cause even while listening i can still tell whats going on
I got you as a rekommendation out of nowhere... well you got a sub, Please keep the good fallout videos coming. I watch them while in bed when im going to sleep, since they are so long they are perfect! And don't forget to use V.A.T.S! much love from Sweden
Awesome thanks very much 😁. I recorded most of episode 3 last night, will finish that off later and then upload. I've had a go at using VATS, with my weak pipe weapons and only having a max of 3 shots, it had limited success, but I think later on it will be a powerful tool 😁👍🏻
You just keep up the good work okey buddy,I'll watch them whenever they get released. again it is quite calming, going to sleep and watching this does wonders for my health @@mike-thegamingdad
Every time I start Fallout 4, I get into the basebuilding for some hours, but the later almost completely abandon it, and other settlements, because sneaking around in the Boston ruins is just so much fun.
Heads up when you get to Boston the game will crash horrible you going to have to quick save every minute , they never fixed the Boston , I stay away from the city it’s really bad
@@DarkThemeCloudGaming That was done the last time I played, which must be because I upgraded to PS5. Don't remember how many new mods I installed, or size of official update, but I was actually mildly impressed with all the improvements.
About BEDS! Tip: Beginning... start w/sleeping bags. They take less resources, and they're easier for settlers to maneuver around, in, & out of lest you hear non-stop complaints about "the bed situation" when you have 50 beds for 15 settlers. Also, fast traveling to and from settlements can throw-off the bed situation. Some kind of glitch to just be aware of when fast traveling. AND... EVERYTHING takes a bed... even what's not counted by the workshop as population! For instance, Codsworth & Dogmeat may not count as "population" in the workshop, but they DO take a bed. So, Sanctuary says "Population 6" & you think: "Okay. 6 beds." No. If Codsworth is there... you need 7. If Dogmeat is also there, you need 8. This doesn't become a problem till settlers come in. Why? The first 6 beds you build at Sanctuary automatically go to those first 6 settlers, & Codsworth nor Dogmeat will complain about the bed situation. They're companions. Companions won't. It's not in their scripting. But let's say you've built 6 beds for the 6 settlers at Sanctuary, and a new 7th settler moves in... so you build a 7th bed for that settler... Codsworth will take that bed, & you'll be hearing complaint from that 7th settler about "the bed situation" because they have no bed. Keep this in mind with companions. Sending them to and from settlements can throw off the bed situation... even robots & pets. It's best, in my opinion, to keep all your companions at one settlement you make for just companions (like Red Rocket) until you can get a better feel for the game & the settlement building aspects (including glitches/bugs).
There are floor safes, wall safes and normal box safes you will find most of them hiding under things, hiding in little nooks and crannies and hiding behind counters
The power suit is pretty cool. You can customize it as well if I remember right. Just make sure you have done repairs on it before you wear it and have a extra power pack for it. I loved this game I might even play it again now that I’m watching you play it for the first time. You cab hold your own shelter and place furniture around as well, upgrade your weapons or find other cool ones or buy and sell stuff from the vendors in game too. Great game. There’s lots of other power suits you can find and repair in game
You don't have to break down junk piece by piece. you can see what you have by choosing "Component View" in your Pip-Boy. When you construct items or craft weapons etc it automatically breaks junk down as needed.
Does it save unused items though? A few comments seem to suggest it doesn't, so for example if an unbroken item has steel and oil and you use the steel, the oil isn't kept its lost. Is that true?
Anything left over from a consumed item is stored in the armour/weapon/chemistry/workbench. And in a settlement all these benches will have a shared inventory.
at last someone who can do a run through with out all the rubbish of how to do this or how to do that, just a straight walk through ..Great . Dont change it .
Haha thanks a lot! That's probably due to this being a first time run through so I can't show anyone anything 🤣. What you see here is through my eyes for the first time (hence the surprised reaction to the deathclaw). In later episodes there's similar reactions to when I first see one of those yao guai things and it rushes me, or when I first saw a supermutant🤣
It may be a good idea to pick up those new workbenches as you come across them. You can drop off your luggage and return later to pick through it or set up caravan routes to link the resources when you get the relevant perk 😉 FO4 is all about junk management don't ya know 😅
Just let the workbench break the items down for you when you go to craft things. Saves a lot of time! Just like the power armour bench did for you when you repaired the limbs.
There’s a basement celler at one of those houses in your neighborhood where you started at but you enter the cellar on the outside of the house through wood cellar doors against outside wall of house. Some useful items inside
@jamesmilton6529 yeah I was pleased with that one, losing the carry weight was initially hard when I started testing out a few companions in later episodes, but once it was gone I got used to it
Also, make sure to quicksave before giving mama Murphy her chems for her "sight". There's a random chance she doesn't make it after. Just reload and retry
This is cool. Never thought I’d enjoy watching someone else play. Good stuff 👍🏻 Not sure you want call outs on things you might of missed but check under the dresser in your kids bedroom for a book and make sure you grab them bobble head dolls (there was one on the desk near Preston).
Thanks 😁👍🏻, yeah I think I may have got those. I went back for the bobblehead near Preston in episode 1, and the card I think I picked up and got an extra perk point
Now you should start your purified water farm. It usually bugs out at Sanctuary Large industrial purifiers, the purified water goes into the workbench. And you can take them to a store. Might as well get a recourse scavenger as well. Just assign a settler to the resource scavenger station
In the build menu top of the screen is people, beds, electricity, defense. And overall happiness. If you are an achievement hunter I can write down the quick guide for you
Like Skyrim, items in red letters would be considered stealing if you took them. Unlike Skyrim, they do not take you to jail or pay a fine if you are caught, they just start shooting!
If you sleep, it creates a save point and restores your health, you can also pick the time you wake up. Saved me a few times when I’m out of stimpaks. Also the more you turn the laser musket with B, the more damage it makes.
It’s easier just to wander around the houses in Sanctuary and scrapping all the furniture, it not only gives you space to put down beds but also provides additional material you can use.
Even if you don't break down your junk and just leave it in you bench if you look in the build menu pick an item to build and it will tell exactly how much you have of said materials
Thanks yeah others have said the same but apparently if you use items that aren't broken, any unused materials are lost. So for example if an item had steel and oil and you used the steel, the oil isn't recovered if not broken down before. Not tested that myself but 🤷🏻♂️
@mike-thegamingdad can't say I harbor tested that before but I cam honestly say I haven't noticed and I probably got about 10,000 hours in game I'm gonna check this and let you know if it's true
@mike-thegamingdad so I just restarted the game myself to save myself a huge hassel so I double checked you will not loose any components from your junk it will break them down and any left over material is stored in the bench
You can add a scope and a third crank to the laser musket, making it an excellent stealth crit hitter. Best early on. Not saying that's the right way to play, but if you want to maximize damage you inflict, while minimizing that which you take, then sneaking with a longer range weapon is a lot of fun.
@@wesss9353 Yes, but in Skyrim it's just the bow, in F4 you can turn half the things into stealth weapons too, which is pleasing to me as a crafting fetishist.
I know I’m a few episodes behind and you probably already know this now, but I’ll post it anyway. Named NPC’s like Gristle you just wiped in the street - they’re leaders and will drop weapons with special effects on them. So be aware when you come across them. The glowing pile on the floor was a vaporised enemy, you can loot the pile - like vampires in Skyrim. Also, if you ever leave a power armour suit, take the fusion core out of it or someone (a raider or even your own companions) will take it. 21:13 You also have more carry weight when in the armour and you wasn’t over encumbered here, so no need to drop stuff. Dogmeat can also carry your burdens. I’ll try and refrain from commenting more until I get up to date. Great content by the way, thanks.
I was advised to do that so as to not lose any unused materials after crafting. So for example if you make something that requires springs, and you have a camera if your junk (has springs gears, crystal), you'd lose the gears and crystal. So a way to avoid that was to break it all down. I've since learned that was not correct advice, so don't do it anymore 🤣
it is fun watching a newbie but crouch/sneak while traveling, keep light off as it alerts enemys and find traders to sell extra guns and clothing to and get more ammo. take gun bench perk and add scopes to see and kill enemies at distance and make gun more powerful.
don't bother with any food, unless you're playing on survival (which disables fast travel, makes you hungry, sleepy, thirsty and so on). it's just dead weight in your inventory.
Yeah I liked travelling with dogmeat 😁 if you stay tuned in, later on in future episodes you'll see I switch to a few different companions (as I learnt about the perks you can get with them), plus they do more damage than dogmeant, who hits like a wet noodle bless him 🤣
The shot gun works well if you let the gauls get close and don't for get to quick save as soon as you can. Get use to using the shot gun you will see why. Good luck. I'll be watching. Lol
When you fast-travel, Fusion Core is not used-up. In some plays I never use Power Armor, in others I use it all the time. Fusion Cores could be a scarce resource, but if you have caps, some merchants sell up to 5 at a time
@@mike-thegamingdad the merchants in question (I'm sure you'll meet them eventually so not a big spoiler - Arturo in Diamond City and KLEO in Goodneighbor. Trashcan Carla may have one.
Thank you! Yeah it's been a pain in the ***. I have done a lot of background stuff from about episode 5 onwards to hopefully address some of those issues. Mainly around bit rate, my recordings are effectively double the size in GB now than they were before, to hopefully counteract the compression. It seems to be helping so far 👍🏻
Also just started playing this game for the first time. I'm not really a gamer but like to try and pretend that i am lol. I'm using your play through as a guide... I'm on pc tho. Just reached Concord. Still fiddling around with what key does what😅 and busy trying not to die. I'll be watching and learning too. Ty for your hard work doing these vids :) started watching for Skyrim when i did my first play through on that game a few months ago and been enjoying your content since.
@@mike-thegamingdad omg but those ghouls move FAST! even tho i'd seen your run and knew what to expect, i nearly shit myself i was that surprised! LMAO! my other half says he wants nothing to do with me after my overly loud yelp at 2am. smh.
@lee7003 haha yeah they do move super quick don't they. A couple of tips I've learnt since facing them a few times Use your VATS if you see them on the floor and aren't sure if they are alive or dead. If VATS focuses on them, Alive, and they'll like wake up when you get near. If it doesn't do anything they are just dead Secondly, aim at their arms and legs. You can blow them off, rendering them easier to deal with
@@mike-thegamingdad oooh, ta very much! Never even thought to use vats! Much appreciated ty :) Also, really looking forward to the skyrim stuff you just did. Not had chance to watch yet but it's on my list for when I slob out later! 😌 Keep em coming, pls. Really enjoying your content 🙆🏽♀️
Fusion cells power energy weapons like the laser rifle and musket. Fusion cores power the armor and some higher end energy weapons. So essentially just two different types of ammo. Raider armor is generally trash and can be sold for caps but generally not worth looting if you are low on carry weight. Leather armor is pretty much always worth looting because it can be broken down for leather to improve your own armor. Even if you don't want to carry the extra guns to sell later, at least loot them and then drop them. When you loot it, you pull the extra ammo out of the guns magazine. Without the scrapping perks, you are likely to only get basic materials from scrapping weapons, so I generally consider it more worthwhile to sell weapons rather than scrapping them. Water won't give you rads unless you walk into it, and it has to be somewhat deep. The rads you picked up at the Drive In were actually from the yellow barrels in the water, so keep an eye out for those elsewhere in the wasteland.
1:47:00 - The Rad damage you were taking was actually from the yellow barrels in the water, not the water itself. Activating the settlement's Workbench will allow you to scrap the barrels.
If it's in the workshop, items will be broken down when you build things. You don't manually need to break down anything. The game tells you how many supplies you have left of each item. Learn about the Scrapper Perk. It's extremely useful for all play types.
Listen to momma Murphys ramblings, she gives you clues to your current quest. Some of them are very helpful down the road. She told you to look for the bright heart in Diamond City in case you don't remember. Break down everything in the houses to make room.
you don’t have to manually scrap everything lol. I chuckled watching you do it. Just store all junk into your workbench and it automatically uses the materials they contain when crafting/building
You can find fusion cores on killed raiders and other areas or buy from vendors and either look around for your damaged arm or you might be able to replace it where you repair the suit on that yellow stand that you have seen plus you will find damaged power suit pieces here and there that you can repair them at the yellow stand and there’s also different levels strengths of power suit parts you can use if I remember right. Maybe just make sure all parts of power suit are same level if you want to upgrade each piece
You don't have to breakdown the junk items your workbench will do that when you use the components. Extra components from items is stored in workbench from items used to craft
Settlement building is the best! There's a whole subculture of settlement builders on RU-vid and Reddit and whatnot. It's the reason I return to this game over and over and over again, it's endlessly replayable like that. You can also just store the junk in the workshop, the game will do the ingredient extracting for you.
Yeah I delved into that a little bit in part 3 which I started last night and will finish tonight. I only spent about 90 minutes doing it but could easily have spent 10x that. So much I want to do but in the interest of the let's play ill move onto the action 🤣
Heads up , did you ever get the bobblehead in the museum? I'd go back if you missed it. Its in the office where you first met Preston. It adds a point of perception.
Consumables are a very useful and important part of the game, but they can easily be forgotten or overlooked. Animal meat, Plants, and Chems (Drugs) have unique properties that can help you in different situations. While plants can be used to craft Chems and meals, Certain cooked animal meats and Chems will boost your strength, endurance and other stats. And some Chems like Jet, are great for getting a upper hand in a chaotic fight. But also be weary of the people your around. some of the people you meat in the wastland may not be fond of and disaprove of your new "Activities". So Don't forget to pick up Chems and any Meat you find, it may come in handy in a difficult battle.
Just a few tips; get locksmith and hacker to pick locks and computer terminals. You'll need gun nut and science to add mods to your weapons. Sniper and commando is for adding extra damage with your pistols and rifles. Armorer perk is also very important to any character build. I'm enjoying your playthrough. Play on and have fun. Also, you can transfer resources to your companions and when they get over encumbered, you can drop whatever you want to keep on the ground and command them to pick it up.
When you've completed a Preston mission you don't have to report back to him. It will automatically go into the completed missions after a while. Or you can report back if you don't mind the annoying prick dumping mission after mission after mission on you. His missions are time sensitive and you'll fail them if not completed within a short time of accepting it.
I'd have scraped or moved the furniture out of the rooms and just put a sleeping bag in each of the houses, as pathing for settlers is an issue, and if they can't get to a bed they complain all the time lol
Yeah a few others have said though that it doesn't auto convert surplus items? So for example if an item contains steel and oil, and you use the steel, the oil is lost. Is that correct?
You can scrap everything in all around sanctuary city as long as you have a workbench close by. All those cars, busted up wooden fences, tires, barrels, trees. I cleared everything out of there scrap it all
Thanks yeah I did half of it in episode 3 and then the other half in episode 4 😁👍🏻 thought I had a lot of wood but I've built about 3 structures and it's nearly all gone 🤣
One thing i wanna tell you about this game is that, some enemies and junk in this game, will respond, after some time, in some areas/places in this game. I tell this because, so that there is no confusion that an enemies of a certain area/place has been killed, stuff have been collected from the same area/place, but then when you return there, there are enemies again and stuff again, and you start to question your own memory at level 50-60 that; "Didn't i already clear this place/are and kill all enemies from this area, long ago ?".
