Can we all say that Local Leader is the best perk of all time, cause we all know the leader of your settlement is the only one who knows how to build a campfire with a stick supported by two other stick.
One of the interesting side effects of this is that you can do a high int idiot savant build. If you want to have perks like Science, you can still buy Idiot Savant and drop your Int using alcohol.
Getting the "Drinkin' Buddy" is super helpful to this perk! This can also allow you to have moderate intelligence while still getting Idiot Savant to trigger more often.
Zach King yeah, idk if it happens with every npc you talk to but with some of them your characters words change sometimes making you sound more confident/douchey lol
Finally you guys noticed Party Boy/Girl perk! I've been posting multiple times to your build videos, that I'd really like to see "Addicted Professor" -kind of character! "Former military-grade scientist (chemist), who becomes so devastated after the bombs that he turns into chems and alcohol for his relief. He would be interesting character to play, because the build balances with characters high intelligence and alcohol usage. Without alcohol his high intelligence keeps EXP coming while Idiot Savant helps when under the influence of alcohol. Suggested perks: Party Boy, Chem Resistant, Chemist, Demolition Expert, Medic... Maybe power-armor related perks because he's physically weak professor? Really interested what you guys can come up with! :) "
I like combining luck boosting gear, stacking alcohol, & savescumming to boost my good fortune & make the most of legendary spawning & vendors. (Got 3 calmex on my most recent trip to Diamond City using that method.)
I think its a pretty good perk. I was messing around with a drunken sniper build. I set my INT high enough to get gun nut then used the party boy perk to drop my INT for idiot savant.
+Meat Shackles at 1 INT (even if you could have negative, the game caps at 1, you cant go below it) you get about 150% xp (base 100% is a 5 INT character if Im not mistaken) BUT at 10 INT it gives roughly 140% and this way you get access to all the INT perks, this is all mentioned in the Scientist Build from Fudgemuppets, the test was over 5000 actions made by some guy over at reddit. In my personal experience, having 10 INT and Idiot Savant made me level up at a stupid rate, skipping levels 18 and 19, when Idiot Savant activated during the main quest, giving me something like 10000 xp (the quest gives about 2000, Idiot Savant makes it x5)
You missed the opportunity to display the different alcohol details in images on your video - RU-vid is not just a vehicle for audio while we watch segments of your build videos.
High FudgeMuppet, I thought of a pretty cool build that would work well in Fallout 4, especially with a survival update in the works. I was thinking of a commonwealth version of the NCR veteran rangers who could live off the land and would use a 50. cal sniper and a 44. revolver as there aren't any more powerful pistols in the game.
How bout a life of the party build? Main perks Party boy/ party girl Chemist Chem resistant Armourer( for biocom mesh armour mod that lets chems last 50% longer)
do this Chem resistant + chemist + party boy/girl with chems overdrive + psycho +med x + bottle of your choice of spirits = unstoppable killing machine (even better for Melee characters )it all stacks to some redonclous defense and attack power.
michael&scott make the terminator build of course use the leather jacket from convenent and primary weapon minigun also like the movie sunglasses pls do it
I hate the first rank, addiction is part of the fun for a survival play through. Wish ps4 had a mod to overhaul alcohol, making it last much longer (since it doesn't seem to be affected by chemist), as well as changing the first rank of party girl to either reduce addiction chance by 50%, or embrace it somehow by lessening or changing the effects of withdrawal so you can roleplay a functioning drunk.
I was wondering if it would be, possible to design a robot commander. I had an idea for a character that would mainly use that robot hacking perk. Yes I know this character would be kind of pointless with the upcoming robot companion DLC coming out. But I am curious to see if this character would work or not
My current play through is all about high strength as you mentioned your upcoming video will be about. The only thing I messed up on is using both the bobblehead and a -1 strength + special book to get base 12 instead of 11. Oh well.
Do a Hulk build were if the character becomes Hulk he consumes drugs and alcohol at the same time. I am already trying this build out and I am using a super sledge and minigun.
You forgot to mention the biggest drawback to boozing it up in Survival: weight. The 3m duration of alcohol effects means that you'll need to carry a lot of them and each one weighs 1lb. In comparison, chems are a tenth of the weight and can have their durations extended dramatically with the Chemist perk and Biocomm armor linings. In the end, the cost savings for alcohol is greatly offset by the savings in weight with chems. If the perk unlocked booze crafting tiers like Chemist and Rank 3 did away with the debuff completely, it might be appealing enough to take up on Survival. Maybe.
Not really, it gives you a strength bonus, a dirty wastelander would give you 6 at rank 2 which means 60 extra pounds you can carry. And beer are common enough you can just constantly drink them and stay at 2 additional strength.
You forgot about one great synergy FudgeMuppet, the negative intelligence influence from alcohol can positively effect those who took the Idiot Savant perk increasing it's trigger rate. A good way to neglect the decrease of XP while under the influence ^-^
I can't remember, did you guys get this perk on your James Bond character? It seems like it could fit for a fusion of your James Bond and Gunslinger character builds, someone that's just sloshed out of their skull landing insane trick shots out of sheer luck.
I have low luck and endurance, so would this be a good pick. my build is a junkie anti hero interpretation of the Silver shroud. High charisma and and 8 intelligence with bobblehead.
I wanna go for a kinda luck/gunslinger build with high charisma. I know the idiot savant wont be as effective if i have high intelligence, so i was wondering if i have for example 3-4 intelligence for the gun nut perk will the idiot savant trigger under the influence of alcohol? Since it lowers you int.
Now a question I've had for a long time... Does Chemist affect Alcohol? (i.e. Party boy/girl perk.) the Wikipedia says that "Chemist affects anything you can get addicted to." But they also have Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the same page as Fallout 4 so I'm not sure it works... But that would also mean Mysterious Serum is not affected.which kinda suchs. But I use Booze much more then that anyways.
The dirty wastelander is actually kind of a waste isn't it? I mean, you have to use 2 whiskey to make one dirty wastelander. The whiskey you can use for a 2 to 4 boost in strength, and do it on two separate occasions, while the dirty wastelander you can boost strength by 3 to 6, but only once compared to what the whiskey could have done. If you are looking to boost your strength, I would drink the whiskey and then take some buffout on top of it, or better yet psychobuff, cause psycho is pretty common.
There is a bug related to this perk, DO NOT TAKE THE SECOND RANK IF YOU ARE DRUNK ALREADY IT WILL PERMANENTLY DEBUFF YOU. Wait until you sober up and then take it.
idea for a fallout 4 build ( No I am not a big mgs fanboy.)( MAJOR SPOILER ALERT) Big Boss High charisma, strength , intelligence, endurance. Was a colonel in the army . Always wanted a private army. Joins the minuteman not because of goodness but because he can be leader. Joins brotherhood only for the vertibirds. Destroys the Prydwen so the minuteman will have their own chopper. Uses unarmed and highly advanced weapons . pacifys since they can be counted as new recruits. Preferred companion is Preston since he is a subordinate. Uses power armour. Preferred gear is Heavy polymered combat armor with ballistic weave mark 5 clean military fatigues. uses fully upgraded assault rifles, fully upgraded plasma weapons, fists. Stealth perks melee perks all weapon damage increasing perks. Favours base building. Especially at the Castle since it is the closest to a military base. Introduces standardized uniform and armour for all minuteman.(Ballistic weave army fatigues and heavy combat armour) Wants to make the minuteman the most powerful faction in the Wasteland. Uses X01 mark 6 with jetpackshaun is his 1st real son . he also has lots of stealth perks Please try to do this
You forgot to mention probably the biggest problem with this perk. I'm currently planning a melee character but at 7 points this perk is hidden so deep in the Charisma tree that I'd really have to go out of my way pouring points into Charisma that were a lot better placed in Strength, Endurance or Agility.
If you have a char with 1 int and idiot savant, how does the negative int affect the proc chance for idiot savant? Do you get a boost to the proc chance? caus that would be kinda awesome ^^
I had a huge issue with Melee weapons in Fallout 4, considering the cool ones tend to have low damage output, or they tend to be too slow. I found that most of the time the only melee weapon that I would use is the Electric Chinese Officer Sword, which is fine, but I wish they'd give you more of an option.
+CuddlezFurLucifer Combine them with chems and speed doesn't mean anything. Going to town on those super mutants and deathclaws with Buffjet on and a super sledge in my hands.
Yeah, I've been using a lot of chems lately (Not just in game), and it seems to be helping a bit, but I need to put points into the Chemist perk so that I can stop getting addicted.
this perk/strong and lucky build would go perfectly with idiot savant, dirty wastelander reduces intelligence by -4 + much higher chance of getting 3x xp
So, I can see that 2 of the ingredients for the Dirty Wastelander are able to be intelligently garnered but what about Nuka Cola, please? I can't find any recipes outside of the Nuka Cola DLC...
that reminds me, i have a character who is addicted to everything. but i also have a pistol that gives me more damage the more addictions i have so (shrug)
