Bethesdas artists are their entire strength as a studio. Too bad they have no writing to back it up. It's also unfortunate how despite the impressive power armor models, if you're in a suit and receive bullets your character goes "OOh Ouch AH oooH AH", instead of the "clink" sound you'd expect (and that was present in their F3, and in NV)
@@dustnut1 Damn straight. Weird thought, do you think there's potential for a Fallout game where you play as a sapient robot? I would think the character would be an assaultron or sentry bot that has a hand.
@@dustnut1 the last group of people that says bethesda has a bad writing decided to make a mod where the main faction sacrifice a fleet of airforce to rescue a mailman
@@ariefalvierridoda6614 Yeah because a tiny mod dev team represent everyone who thinks Bethesda sucks at writing, right? What a profoundly stupid post.
@@tsarfox3462 I think Obsidian once wanted to make a game where you can also play as a ghoul or a super mutant, it’d be cool if you were able to play as something like that. Maybe some sort of humanoid robot that could salvage parts from remains like a sentry bot’s back mounted missile pod or something. That probably sounds very unrealistic though.
Now think of how terrified the caravan off in the distance is watching one random person with a hunting rifle solo a Sentry Bot, a bunch of feral ghouls, and a turret
I started building sentrybot for provisioning routes frome robo wprk bench. Then just keep the the people at the settlements. But takes time and resources to build up the supply routs and other with misc. Bots
I love Sentry Bots, the pre-war military paint, the voice, the red light, the legs, his arsenal of weapons, and the size. Also love the loading screen saying that they are dangerous!
Cant forget the core cooldown animation. That too is soo satifying and bad ass at the same time. Plus the huge explosion at death is scary but another awesome thing about them. All in all, sentry bots are all awesome till your their target.
My sentry companion unfortunately became too powerful. With the twin nuke mortars and an RPG for a left arm, it kept killing me to the point I was more afraid of it than any enemy. That mirelurk snuck up and hit you? Not to worry there's at least 1 nuke on the way to kill us both curteousy of the sentry.
There is legitimately a perk to prevent it from damaging you. Also, you should try two sentry bots with multiple follower mod. With some assaultrons in the mix, you hardly even need to fight anymore. I think the max followers was 53 but at that point, your primary weapon may as well be a folding chair.
Yeah. I thought the Mechanist quests would be super easy at a high level. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out duelbots can still oneshot you despite wearing ballistics weave and the top tier of combat armor.
@@chakaislife3046 I know, right? It's like night and day. First time I tried it, after the shock faded I face palmed and was like "man, why didn't I think of this before?!"
@@botmes4044 exactly I think it’s because it never says it in the description of the perk and it’s not common knowledge. But you would think word would spread that you can one shot a sentry bots with one bullet 😐
My 'strategy' for fighting Sentry Bot is run away backwards while frantically firing in its general direction. Either that or just shooting at it from really far away while its inactive. Seriously, as long as its in its inactive state, it will not react to you putting hundreds of rounds into it.
@@user-bz3nk8rm1u At least you can justify them making the same robot sounds over and over. Hearing companions say the same 3 voice lines becomes monotonous ather a while to me. But I understand where you're coming from! No character/backstory. 😉
funnily enough i remade sarge(for the minuteman) but practically buffed him in every way possible, miniguns to gatling lasers full hydraulic armour with robobrain head but just kept him at the castle
You could use him for supply lines, that’s what I did with my sentry bot. I’ve been giving the Minutemen there miniguns and combat armor while Ronnie Shaw has a gatling laser and the general uniform, so they might be able to handle their own. Also makes you wonder where Sarge was when they first lost the castle.
I like the idea of a finishing move is like it manages to pin you down and then it uses this weird wheel thingy to basically grind you up into a fine paste
Damn, I totally hate it when I leave my +50 pound power armor set and pimped out missile launcher on my nightstand. Happens to the best of us I guess :/
To be fair to the Sentry Bots, they do frequently turn up at military installations, so I'd be willing to bet there's supposed to be a military and a civilian model range.
Yeah this was recorded like a week after launch so younger me had no idea the joy's i could look forward to. Survival sentries are usually a "Let's just go a different way" for me.
The sentries scared me more than the death claws ever did. There's one I accidentally ran into, a bit west from the first red rocket gas station you find in game. My first sentry run in was in the abandoned car yard. I have never barricaded myself so fast in the small office, lol
that would be horrifying. wonderful idea. you think it's dead before it tries to swat at you with its remaining limbs. reminds me of how they begin crawling when one of their legs is "crippled"
yeah i died a few times to these in survival although the assaultrons were worse, and those killbots from mechanist dlc. This video was from the first week that the game was out waaaay before we had survival.
@@pezjerk lol yeah. I literally took a week off work, picked the game up from a game store 6 hours before official launch and basically no-lifed it. I actually just did a video on my twitch where I booted up the old ps4 to look at these saves because of how many random views this video gets.
Did a 100% complete playthrough once it released. Love it, honestly can't play on any other difficulty now. This vid was recorded launch week though so we hadn't gotten that patched in yet.
i had pretty much sneak and shut them down and slowly killing them with my fists, especially assaultron. i was pulverised once so i torture it before making it into a pile of goo
Wow, hiding behind a vehicle... a nuclear bomb ready to go of when it get's shot a few times... when you're being attacked with a machine gun and mortars....
You can turn Codsworth into a sentrybot with the robotics workbench. What’s more terrifying than a heavily armed and armored sentrybot? An immortal, heavily armed and armored sentrybot.
That's only because the minigun is nerfed as heck, the explosives are weak, and the guns are inaccurate. The guns should really be better, miniguns are never scary in-game and they should be (same goes for power armor). The stuff bethesda made is cool, but like always, it's just missing something. And I like hacking all of the robots I come across, I don't have to feel bad about killing them
im currently working towards a army of full spec sentry bots on caravan duty going across teh whole commonwealth, so far iv got most of the north covered, but nothing better than being in a firefight and seeing two friendly sentry bots roll of the hill and just start blasting
@@blckwtrpark3352 iv yet to complete a survival playthrough ultra hard is enough i think i dont like the thought of slogging across the commonwealth if i remember ammo has weight as well right?
1. You chose a kind of prissy avatar. 2. You should have gone on the roof where you would have been safe from the other enemies and shot down at the sentrybot.
What do you dislike about fallout 4? My only problems are the bugs that are everywhere (I could not finish 3 of my playthrough due to this) and less text options.
@@justyouraveragegamer7657 Dunno if my previous reply went through at all, but I'll try to make this 1 smaller. Most of the weapons look like shit, and some look the same as others like the combat rifle and the combat shotgun, as well as semi to full-auto pipe guns and bolt action pipe guns; but I like the broadsider, the laser musket, and the junkjet cause I finally found an actual use for that thing in renaming it "the Spooky Cannon" cause bones and bottles, and paper are about the few useless things you could shove in it and not care about but I plan on just shoving skulls in it and launching them at my enemies on fire. Power armor feels awesome and all, but I hate how fucking fragile it is compared to everything now, as it's the only thing in the game that'll explode off your body if a bird shits on it, meanwhile you could fire a minigun without stopping for 5 days and it'll continue working perfectly cause for some reason they wanted to remove degredation on everything BUT the power armor, and if you ask me, either everything degrades, or nothing should degrade. The humanoid companions, some I like, others I wish I could blow their heads off (lookin' at you Preston), others still are too showey, and you could pick 'em out of a line-up (lookin' at you Preston, Piper, Nick, and Hancock). What also I don't like about 'em is how they won't shut up about every little thing I do. "Why are you using power armor" "he was innocent, why'd you blow his brains out" "oh god, that's unsanitary, you're eating him" I like that I can tell 'em what to do and what to wear, and what weapon to use, but I hate the constant bitching that I might as well replace 'em all with robots that don't fucking complain at all. Settlements, I like the concept of. I hate the execution though cause now I have to babysit a whole buncha' fucking farmers who I literally gave the best, top-of the line weaponry and armor too as well as turrets, and yet if I don't come back and kiss every single fucking booboo they get, suddenly they all disappear and it's back to square fucking 1 with that settlement. I like the DLC, think it's the most fun of the entire game, especially automatrons and that factory 1...not much else on that, really. I hate each faction for different reasons. The Institute's fulla' tone deaf nerds who think nuking the world again will somehow improve things for someone, the Railroad don't give too damns about human or ghoul slaves, favoring that of the institute's creations instead, the Brotherhood are so bad now that I go back to Fallout 3 just to give the nuclear finger to Maxson, and the Minute Men while the only faction that's any actual bit good for the wasteland they're really just a buncha' lazy farmers who want me fighting all their battles, and don't wanna do any of the hard work them selves (LOOKIN' AT YOU PRESTON). I like Fallout 4 VR, I hate that I had to work to get the game in a fucking playable state, and that the chimps at Methheadsta didn't think to make the movement toggleable from guided by hand to Head Mounted Device based movement. I hated that I didn't have hands gripping my weapon, so I got FRIK. I still hate that I'm not able to CUTSOMIZE MY FUCKING CHARACTER in a game THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN RPG BUT KINDA ISN'T. I mean sure, I'm not gonna be able to see him at all, in gameplay, but here's the thing...I wanna look down and see a beer gut cause I decided to turn my character into Carl Brutananadilewski. Or Danny Devito woulda' been nice too. Plus I'm hoping someone's workin' on a Dual wield mod for VR, cause honestly, I wanna be able to do something with my other hand that isn't pointing it in the direction I wanna move in, and then stumbling around like a fuckin' drunk when I go to scratch my nose. I also just generally hate the existance of the CreationClub...enough said there. I hate the existance of Shaun, that baby I didn't make, whose the only reason I'm out in this wasteland of terror, cause I the player am having to find a baby I couldn't give 2 shits about but apparently my character does cause it's his kid...it's not my kid...I don't care about this kid...I just wanna go out and loot and build robots, and factories and shit...only reason I'd ever wanna find Shaun is to blow his brains out, eat his corpse, shit it out in the toilet bot I built just so it could convert the Shaun feces into an edible shit bar so I could eat him again...I hate Shaun...gimme a reason that I can actually care about.
@@malkavianamerican3025 I agree with you on so many levels about the companions the worst bit is their immortal so if you enemy them and their in a settlment that it becomes unusable. What do you think of 76 though?
Looks like someone didn't do her/his homework (terrain reconnaissance). If you did that, you would have lowered the chances of unpredictable things, such as the ghouls and the turrets (unless you like this kind of chaotic setting). Nice fight, though!
Yeah this was a long time ago, but i'm pretty sure i came in from the west and decided to check out that outbuilding before engaging anything in the main site. Lol lucky me when i found out leaving that building spawns a sentry bot directly on top of you.
I might be wrong, but cant you do great damage to them while they are cooling down? They expose their fusion cores on their back during that moment, I vaguelly remember shooting them at that moment being effective.
Yup, lol this was recorded week one of the game being out and somehow i'd hit the mid 60's without encountering a sentry bot yet. This was my first run-in with one, and lucky me it was one of the most advanced variants.
I was grinding to get to level 41 (?) to get science level 3 so I could upgrade my Laser Musket to a six crank. Ended up using too many Fusion Cells for my liking so I use it for destroying tough enemies. Works very well.
Yo I would have lost my fucking mind once the turrets and ghouls started fucking with me. Like Yo. Regardless of what level this person was at I would have still shit a brick.
at level 107 very few things are scary in the world of fallout. unless you screw up on your upgrades. but i tend to go for non auto gun upgrades, solo traveler and melee weapon damage, by lv 40 i dominate the whole world, whatever comes at me is dead. having the x01 or whatever power armor just means the game turns to boring because there is no more challenge. everything dies
It was a legendary one or just player is that low level and still in that spot? Also, there is gimmick trick bout them - force them to overheat and then wheel around and shoot the power core.
