Fallout 4 vs Fallout 76 - Direct Comparison!! In this video, Ill be comparing small details between Bethesda's Fallout 4 vs Fallout 76 to see how they differ when it comes to attention to detail. Happy viewing!!
It's also helpful in a multiplayer where you don't get loot from bodies you yourself haven't hit, so you need a way of differentiating so you're not wasting your time trying to loot every body at horde events like Eviction Notice.
Pretty shallow comparison that fails to cover differences in crafting, build mode, quest tracking, repairing, scrapping, doesn’t cover multiplayer events or even try to compare the strengths and weaknesses of the story in both games.
Your grenades being "larger" in 76 is because you must have have the Grenadier perk equipped under Perception. Also under Settings -> Display, you can turn off "Highlight Corpses".
The glowing dead bodies in Fallout 76 is actually a good idea that they should have brought to Fallout 4 because I've lost so much loot due to the fact that I couldn't find the body that I killed because they were so many, LOL
@@blackmind1120depends what you’re looking for. Fo4 is a looter shooter. Fo76 is a MMO looter shooter. If you want a tight, single player game with good story and world building. Neither of these games are for you. The modern fallouts (anything from fo4 onwards) are not actually fallout. They’re very different from the original ones and they’re much worse quality. They appeal to young kids though. So if you’re young, maybe you’ll enjoy them. If you’re older and enjoy videogames, play fo3. Once you finish fo3, play new vegas. If you really want to, play fo1 and 2. They’re great games but they’re really old so most modern gamers wouldn’t understand how to play them at first. But if you’re willing to learn, they’re great. Fo3 is slightly dumbed down, but it’s a good entry to the franchise. Then you can play nv, which is better than 3 for the most part. You can try fo4 and 76 after that, but they are much worse than the previous ones.
You can turn off the glowing body loot. But then why, its a good upgrade. Not to mention i can loot nearby bodies ranged to 10feet without looking for them one by one
I'm seeing many posts saying Fallout 76 doesn't have mod support. This just isn't true. I'm using a long list of mods for 76 to improve the game, just as I did for previous Fallout games.
@@jebalitabb8228 I didn’t expect mods the fuck are you talking about? Man commented and said the game has mods, it doesn’t. Only on pc. Fallout 4 has mods on console u sound ignorant
4:00 You can turn off the glow effect in the settings. Also this is something they added way post launch for some reason, I always play with it off because it annoys me too.
Weirdly enough if you use a legendary weapon with an explosive effect to the bullets, it will make big splashes if you shoot it at the water. I am stunned that frag grenades, the most common explosive to find and use, doesn't have an effect.
I prefer my rpgs to have voices ik they can suck and miss but when they hit its 10x better i dont like reading and many ppl feel that way as well fk being cheap and making excuses for not hiring voice actors. Cyberpunk did like 2000000 hrs of voice lines😂
The glowing enemies thing is fairly new and we were screaming for it for years sooo we don't want to dis that. Besides, you can turn it off. A lot of new and returning players don't seem to notice that they finally added an AoE loot which we needed pretty badly (the "Line in the Sand" event comes to mind) though I think that was added a couple/few years ago right around the time I took a break after Wastelanders hit. Great video though, gave as thumbs up and sub. :D
In Fallout 76, it seems like you have to be online all the time to play. Fallout 4 is more of a single player game and I prefer that then being connected online with micro transactions plus the NPCs are a huge factor in Fallout 4 😊. I can’t wait for mod support to turn the Synths into Terminators lol 🤖
The grenade in the water on 76 not having an effect is a bug. If you use a weapon with an explosive legendary effect it uses the intended and shared animation for the frag grenade.
Hm? NV players got along with anyone? 😂 As far as I remember, they always have this superiority complex and shit on any other Fallout players including 3 lol
Maybe you in particular were non toxic, but just like titan said.. most NV players back in the day were on such God complex pedestals that you couldn’t even entertain a simple conversation. Worse than PC master race, worse than a hardcore console mascot.. OG New Vegas community would demean and belittle you into Oblivion (kek) if you didn’t think it was the finest achievement in modern RPG gaming. There was zero tolerance for anyone who viewed 3 above NV. I always preferred 3. I am one of the few survivors, this is my story. 😂
@@Ghost4PF-they don’t get along because they’re essentially 2 strains of fallout. The original fallouts are Fo1 Fo2 Fnv The new Bethesda fallouts are Fo3 Fo4 Fo76 The TV show Think of it like Star Wars vs Disney Star Wars. The fallout fans don’t like the way Bethesda has changed fallout. They don’t understand what fallout is about and most of their games are bad. Fallout 3 is in limbo. It’s a great game, perfect introduction to the franchise for many. It’s regarded as one of the best fallouts. The point at which fallout shifted was fo4. They made it cartoony, the story sucked, they focused so much on gunplay that was dated even in 2015, they removed all player choice and RPing. It’s just a mediocre game with a fallout logo slapped on it. Breaks all kinds of lore. In 2015 it was criticised heavily for poor gameplay and bad graphics. Which, when compared to games like the Witcher 3 and Arkham knight, yeah, it’s pretty clear why it was so heavily panned. So there’s now two groups. You have the fallout fans and the new FINO fans. If you’re looking to play the games I’ll give a synopsis and recommendation in another comment for each one
Fallout 4 is basically a really good shooter movie with lots of cool characters, funny quests and a contained world that you can influence, where as 76 you really feel the world take centre place in the game, with its trove of monsters/factions of weird cults it’s got that mystery factor left unexplained too a later date type deal, but in terms of story it falls short but makes up for it with the region as a whole with new npc’s added with free dlc.
What you said at 1:44 is incorrect. Fallout 4 takes place in late October, meaning the leaves have fallen off the trees due to it being fall. There are piles of fresh leaves visible on the ground, meaning they have recently fallen.
Non voiced would be more immersive because you can put your own inflection in the dialogue lines and there are a lot more options. It feels more like you rather than playing another person.
@@bigboiarieltrue just played fallout new vegas and although i liked fallout 4 companions better the dialogues were lackluster but since new vegas didnt have dialogues of courier it also feels so disconnected compared to 4
It's not at all about attention to detail. It's about what effects and techniques work with networking and which ones don't. Like for example, the casings for the ammunition was removed in Fallout 76 because in an event where you have 100 different NPCs and 32 different players firing off shot after shot, generating a new mesh with every shot that needs to be rendered and tracked over the network to display properly and in the proper position, rotation, and velocity for every person present, the casings alone would literally be enough to crash the server.
@@christinesulyvahn6043 Like? And before you name an FPS, think about all of the other things an MMO has to actively track on the server that an FPS doesn't.
Yeah it is most definitely the devs fault. Everything wrong with any Bethesda game is absolutely their fault. They should've developed a new engine after skyrim came out. Skyrim was the last innovative game on the creation engine
I honestly couldn’t get into 76, something just felt off. There were certain aspects I liked for sure, such as the dialogue interface and them bringing back weapon condition, but I could just add the Extended Dialogue interface mod to Fallout 4 if I wanted. I get that Fallout 76 is a multiplayer/shared world game, but even so, VATS feels so off and for me, I don’t know if it’s a me problem, but shooting and hitting enemies, there was a noticeable delay in impact, therefore it wasn’t satisfying. Plus I’m more introverted so I prefer single player games. I think I’ll stick to 3, New Vegas and 4.
76 is super fun for me so far . I accidentally pistol whip a giy a wayard and everyone started blasting me the player i thought was glitching or an npc got off his pip boy helped me kill everyone looted them with me and we just ran off seperate ways i was like wtf just happened 🤯 it was pretty cool 🤷so i could only assume real missions will be better
Looting in fallout 76 is a bit better because it has the feature where you can loot all nearby bodies instead of one at a time. Also it’s been said but you can just turn off the glowing bodies, dog.
@LiveFromMyBasement No, FO76 is MORE accurate. After 200 years, nature would have reclaimed the land. I actually think Bethesda realized this aspect. Sure, all the different areas in FO76 have more trees to begin with, but whatever nature was in the FO4 areas would have come back. So, the trees all being dead and no new ones growing, that doesn't seem accurate after 200 years.
@@ryansmith-gu5yp listen...your argument is valid...I didn't said otherwise...I was talking only about the game-play experience...and, while your argument is valid, it does apply to every and each game from the Fallout series...if you only focus on accuracy - every and each player should have been dead or at least have his life-spawn of only a couple of years - only speaking about the reality of radiation poisoning - as another example of lack of accuracy...- so you see, let's leave "reality/accuracy" and get back to the point of the initial question
I find the hunger/thirst mechanic super annoying in 76. and annoying I have to find all the recipes for everything I want to craft. in FO4 I also get free fast travel everywhere on the map and its much easier to get caps. I will revisit FO76 after I beat FO4 and get bored of it.
having played both, fallout 4 definitely has better graphics. There is something about the geometry, texture maps, and colour palette in fallout 76 that makes it look like a cheap online Java game.
There are explosion water splashes in 76. I should know because my C.A.M.P. is on top of a river and I usually shoot Explosive Bullets into it and it made the same splash it made in 4.
Its funny before alot of youtubers disliked fallout 4 you know new vegas is the best how they said and now suddenly now the series are out everyone suddenly loves fallout 4 gues youtubers just say what the people wanna hear.... Typical using the series succes
Wrong completely lmao 🤣 one of the biggest complaints with 4 was the voice acted ss. Also 4 is the only fallout game where the player has a voice actor
I disagree, voiceless protagonist is cheap and takes away the immersion and im reminded everytime im not in the game and im not the character because im different so basically a voiceless separated entity who’s in reality just the mouse and keyboard.
Hot take: I love voiced dialogue in Fallout 4 and hope they continue with it. But what I would want different is that the character actually says the options you're given. And voice customization so that not every character you make has the same male/female voice.
Fallout 76 just looks much more crisp and current gen, and Fallout 4 is blurry mess with low visible distance. Maybe they have some kind of post render filter which blurs textures, but even common pistol in Fallout 4 looks like it is from old game and in Fallout 76 it is much much better though even model is the same.
can i just say after playing a bunch of fo4 then getting into 76. the voiceless protag is so refreshing and overall a return to form. even some dialog feels more chaotic like older games and i love it so much
