Davey, I'd suggest looking up "shanty towns great depression" for some cool looking structures. I look up shanty towns pretty often for inspiration on my builds, especially my Starlight series.
Since this area is so hippy and chill. Maybe it would be a cool place to have like an outpatient place for people to heal and get rehab. Maybe somewhere for saved robots and synths to get used to life outside the institute. A calm in the storm that is the commonwealth.
I kind of like the idea of pallet furniture and elevated planters. Make it a very Stevie Nicks/ Misty Day style hippie retreat. Make a bunch of unique planters using tubs, tires, and maybe even elevating those long but short railing style half walls. You can elevate them on stilts or something. And set us cool plants like silt beans, hubflowers, and thistles. Maybe add in a hotel for people who are coming to the commune as a getaway.
LOL- OMG this is a VERY SIMILAR project that I was going to work on today as I have already used the tents ................ DAMN! Great minds think alike. LOVE IT!
The ramshackle and hippie-inspired theme reminded me of the song “Crispy Critters” by C.W. McCall (Convoy, Nishnabotna, Wolf Creek Pass, etc.). You’re halfway there if you do up a purple school bus, put up a church, lay out a gas station from USO, load the settlement down with unruly dogs, dress the settlers as hippies, and dress up the settlement’s leader in a space suit. Here’s a link to the lyrics for anyone interested: play.google.com/music/preview/Tvqfcgd5wtr4dv3wo3jveu75g5q?lyrics=1&pcampaignid=kp-lyrics
You should make a Euron Greyjoy-inspired pirate ship using the big green tugboat with those raider tents as sails. I was going to, but couldn't get the tugboat to place.
there is kind of a hippie vibe going on with the sunshine co-op just on name alone. and that mr. handy, (that is one strung out robot; but who needs details anyway?) this is a cool build...lots of good ideas here...lends itself to providing settlers with an individual living space instead of doing the hippie commune thing and filling the one building with sleeping bags and then putting all of your settlers to work farming for adhesive...but yeah, like you said, it keeps with the whole hippie thing. i'm still using the dlc assets, so i'll be trying something similar with the smaller raider tents...thanks again. stay safe.
Now this is creative! Love it. But the decor, in my opinion, needs revision. For one thing, that pool table is completely exposed so it's going to get soaked in the rain. Should replace that with a fire.
Wow, that's something very new! No use when it's raining, but well...the Hippies will use the rain as shower xD Nice! (= Ready to copy that dumdidum ^^
If you wanted my thoughts on what to do with the place, I'd turn it into your 'drug culture' center for your Minuteman Empire, if you needed to RP it you could say that it's a begrudging alliance in that the sense that the Minutemen need the narcotics expertise of the locals to manufacture medicine, and in return the Minutemen allow them to manufacture more dangerous drugs like jet and psycho but everything has to be taken at Sunshine Tidings and distributed through Minutemen approved dealers to try and prevent the serious issues that arise. So perhaps unlike the rest of your Minutemen settlements, this one doesn't have a Mortar battery, due to the tender hooks relationship, and the Minutemen presence is quite light. Got the idea from Fallout New Vegas, where you can have the Followers of the Apocalypse provide ethanol and high quality distilling equipment to the Garret Twins in the Atomic Wrangler in Freeside, in return the Garrets help keep the Followers stocked with important ingredients to manufacture medicine, an unlikely but mutually beneficial alliance. Maybe then you can use the barn as the drug lab? Build a funky structure on top so it's a two story facility? Still love the vids Davey xx
This is so neat! I think I'd like to give a build like this a try eventually. Also, too bad there isn't a VW Microbus that you could use as a home for Goodfeels. I guess you might build a kind of Woodstock-y stage/performing area?
hey Danny boy, was hoping you could do a few more of those survival home type builds, they're very fitting for the style of my settlements, I like how it seems like it was put up at a moments notice
Hay Davy what about if it's become a hub for wanderers? The hippies run the show but all the badasses from the commonwealth hang out and trade there. The hippies get their peace and love but everyone knows you don't @#$% with Sunshine.
You disappointed me with the yurt convention anecdote, I thought I'd found someone else who's partial to falling down Ray Mears shaped rabbit holes on this god forsaken website
Soviet Wanderer better stores for Xbox 1 and pc has marijuana crops there's about 5 different strains so each plant looks different. It also has 4 different glowing mushrooms you can plant. Some of its decorations are a neon marijuana leaf sign that says chems and 2 different bongs made from nuka cola bottles too.
When's the lore vids?!?! I. Need. Lore! Don't rush. Id rather wait for quality than not for quantity. Good job on the vid and the build, your content is always sought after from me 😉
you have a great imagination. It's a shame that I do not speak English, I'd like to understand what you say, because there are no subtitles in Spanish hahahaha
Mr. Minuteman On NexusMods, there’s a mod called “Transfer Settlements - Shareable Settlement Builds” which allows you to import/export settlements from other game saves (yours or someone else’s). Of course, this requires Fallout 4 Script Extender, so you’ll need that first... oh and it’s just for pc right now, which makes it not even remotely possible to get a console version at the moment. Hope this answers your question.
I feel like the outside of it looked too plain; it was all just the same junk wall. I like the build, don’t get me wrong, it just needed a little bit more love.
chris Hansen I don't think it makes it look stupid, but I agree he shouldn't have added them. You can clearly see they are railings stuck on it so it doesn't look right.
Hey norespawns, would you be willing to see my sanctuary player home? I put a lot of work into it and I would like to see how a good settlement builder would think of it
