**INCOMING MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE** WARNING. ERROR. DO NOT PURCHA- ERROR. SYSTEM INITIALIZING. ERROR. DO NOT PURCHASE FALLOU- 76- ERROR. DISCONNECTED FROM SERVER.
Honestly I'm so torn in the middle with FO76. I think as long as the single player is a solid fallout experience then I'll be happy. But on the other hand I would like to be able to chill with my friend in our own world, none of this survival pvp stuff.
Or maybe you can chill the hell out and not count your chickens before they hatch? All this pessimism is really ticking me off. FO NV and FO 3 aren't going anywhere. Wait for reviews to come out before you piss on everyone's parade. Skepticism is fine but that doesn't mean you can't be excited.
Regular human even tho he said u won’t see servers just load in most likely they will put in a feature that lets u load in solo and invite friends if u want it
There is no single player. It's solo entirely different. You can play solo in ark and rust but it's not recommended. There won't be NPCs or anything so yeah. This game will kill the fallout name.
A person on the internet and the ones being picked on can do the same... the server could gang up on them.. nothing they can do about getting ganged by 20 plus people at once.
Thank you for giving a timestamp. All the morons quoting the 16 times the detail can't be bothered giving a timestamp cause they are so busy being jerk offs. lol
@@tanzimurrahman8923 Not necessarily. Before he says that infamous line, he quietly says (as quiet as you can be with a mic presenting to a sizeable live audience) "it allows us to have" as some lawyer-speak so that he's _technically_ telling the truth in the same way that I'm allowed to go use the bathroom during college classes even if I don't, while finally blurting out the line "16 TIMES THE DETAIL" so people would hear that loud and clear to make them excited for how amazing this game would supposedly look.
Already debunked. The lore says that Europe was completely decimated by Civil War where the bombs put an end to the continent, as well as China that was destroyed after the US launched a devastating invasion and finished them off with nukes. Russia was already failing and had completely destroyed themselves at that point, it was basically already a wasteland.
Yeah this is what happens when Companies capitalize on their IPs to appeal to non-fans, instead of trying to actually create a good RPG like their FANS want. This is an obvious cash grab to try and entice people who haven't played Fallout, or play Fallout for the "shooting".
A map 4 times as big doesn't mean jack shit unless there is also 4 times the content, and I really don't see that happening considering how sparce the fallout games usually are compared to the world size.
I also wonder if it has dungeons and interior maps. Bethesda gives us a loading screen for every fucking tiny hut, that also makes the world gigantic. If all this is gone in fallout 76 then it isn't as big as todd makes it out to be.
Well now I know why reconstruction in the fallout universe failed horribly. Vault-Tec gave civilians access to NUCLEAR MISSILES and encouraged them to USE THEM AS THEY PLEASE! No wonder there is no greenery left other than irradiated objects, thanks a lot Vault-Tec.
I just hope that there is a true “solo” option/invite-only servers. I’d love to play with my friends, but I don’t need some troll to come online and blow up my base that I worked hard on.
BoringMan You mean the game that is basically completely different, in a completely different setting, with completely different enemies, locations, quests, etc? Sure, but I'd also like to play this one....alone.
BoringMan what do you mean doubtful? It’s not an MMO. They already said that they’re gonna split up people into servers similar games like GTA Online. I don’t think invite-only sessions are much of a long-shot. I think the true solo mode might be, but still maybe.
Smeaxyskittles ya boy Todd Howard literally just said. "You won't even see a server when you play". Sure you can play with friends in the same game. Yet others will be in the game. Same with playing "solo". If you want to play exclusively by yourself just play Fallout 4. I don't understand the obsession with playing a multiplayer game like this by yourself it defeats the whole purpose.
Goodbye world Goodbye necks Goodbye body Goodbye heads Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere Server crashes Game crashes Old bugs imported from Fallout 4 Use more than one nuke at a time? Server's dead Textures far too textrous An all-consuming void Error Log 3:0:7 Can't pick up stuff Can't stop asserting dominance with a T-pose Framerate problems Screen tear problems Getting too swole Getting underneath the map Getting attacked by invisible enemies Spawning too many enemies (kinda speaks for itself) Spawning too many god rays Also your C.A.M.P. resets after every session And sometimes it goes underwater Holotapes randomly play static But too many holotapes mean none of them will play Enemy A.I. is far more A. than I. Animations are broken Surprise! Floating objects And a "Traveling Merchant"
I can heavily disagree with most of these. Games is pretty fine at this moment, no it's not Dead. You press the button to join in a world/lobby withing 2 seconds you are in with people playing and be around the map plus you can visit their camps/house and trade get stuff etc. Public Events are really active and usually half the lobby is participating. Picking up loot is OK no problems for me at all. Ai is OK not the best but also not the worst. The game is also still updated and alive, it also gets almost every year a free big expansion adding stuff ect. There are too many missions to do main/optional/event/daily. There is always something to do. Even if you play too much you can then experiment with different builds play against stronger enemies and maybe build a house with lot of stuff?? Therefore the game is also alive from the moment they also celebrate Easter with challenges etc. The animations sometimes could be weird but I think they can fix them. As an example is that the bullet cases sometimes on some guns you don't see them pulled out from the gun when on first person then on 3rd person you can see it and sometimes the opposite. At the end, yes the game sometimes crashes but if you have an sad or new Gen console you load up back really fast plus if you are on a team I think you can join back on this team you were on. Final verdict? Well the game as I knew at launch was bad but now it's really decent 👌. If they add cross play, that would be amazing!!
I like that the player they killed was called “P.Garvy”. Good joke Bethesda. Anyway, I have only one real question - How will Vats work? Do we still have it?
You can't have VATs in a multiplayer game. It can't be done. VATs slows down time - it would have to slow it for everyone on the map every time a player wanted to use it. Not feasible. Fallout 76 will be pure FPS.
Only way I see vats working is in pve only. They could explain it away as other pipboys block it in pvp. Or that it is gone entirely as the older model pipboys didn't have vats.
Hopefully, he can look back on this in a year or two and laugh at the biggest fuck up he ever made and all the bull shit lies he has told on stage in the past along with it.
Fallout is one of my favorite game series. And I think it's cool to change it up a bit. it's one game for multiplayer. And who knows when Fallout 5 comes out it might make it seem that much better
He didn't say especifically "You can play solo but you will be still online". So don't give that for granted either. The way he talked about Solo-mode, in my opinion, its like if he's talking about your REGULAR as always Fallout single player experience.
M'aiq is cautiously optimistic. Always online usually mean hacker's paradise on PC. M'aiq just wanted to play with friends, not everyone else. At least Todd Howard did say that we can still play solo. M'aiq hopes for private friends only servers.
Playing Solo means that you will still be online in the multiplayer world you will just be doing the quests and activities by yourself but there are still other players around.
If they had to add multiplayer, why couldn't it have been local? I would've loved to be able to play fallout with my friends and LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE.
People have been asking to play with a friend since before Bethesda got ownership of Fallout. But no they do shit like ESO and this. They are avoiding the one thing folks have actually been asking for. Good thin DyingLight2 got announced. They got it right the first time. 4 player co-op. Optional PvP. Local game. Modding. File compared online allowing modded co-op. Etc. I cant believe Bethesda cant figure this out after how many fucking decades...
Fuckers'll cheer anything. Todd Howard: "With the release of Fallout 76, Bethesda employees will be *legally* entitled to come into your homes to sit on your couch, eat your food and yes, even steal your things!". Crowd: "Wooooo!"
Todd Howard said this game was entirely multiplayer, i.e no single player. Sure there might be solo play, but you're still playing online, where there might be other players teamed up. I'd assume this means griefing, no modding and toxic players that kill everyone on sight.
ENTIRELY ONLINE. Not ENTIRELY MULTIPLAYER There’s a huge fucking difference. Entirely online is just needing an internet connection even when playing entirely on your own. Which means that any progression made will be saved to the servers so you can join multiplayer later a save your progression. ENTIRELY MULTIPLAYER is the total inability to play solo at all. Which Todd literally said there will be a solo mode.
I'm feeling positive yet skeptical about Fallout 76. Looks like it could be a ton of fun or a bit of a shitshow, but either way this is an ambitious move and I can respect that.
No offence to the online game players who love the those supposed new online game mode. I am a simple guy. I only need a SOLO, advanced Fallout series game. Please do not put so much effort on the multiple-player mode, but the game mode and quality of itself. We have too many online games which were changed from solo family games these years.
chanseed I'm pretty sure it's going to be like gta 5. They are going to push a few half assed updates for solo. But are going to spend all the time updating the multiplayer
Email Account im really excited for this game all they need to do is make sure there arnt many bugs, bring back more rpg elements, and add more unique weopons
Cantthinkofaname stop complaining you lot moan for years about wanting multiplayer get it and complain you want single player now go okay fallout 4 or the multiple new Vegas mods he's openly said there is only 1 server!
You obviously havent been reading on this much have you? I said they are dedicated to allowing your own PRIVATE SERVERS. You choose if you want someone in it or not.
Great show. Not into the mobile stuff but glad it's free. My buddies and I used to dream about a multiplayer fallout back in the day. Wonder what V.A.T.S. will be like?
i can see V.A.T.S still being a thing but it wont freeze or slow time. might be on a heavy cooldown too to avoid people jhust headshotting and killing everybody instantly.
Slow mode just wouldn't work in an online environment. Can't pause an online game. So the whole system is over, unless they eliminate the slo mo feature.
I think that multiplayer is a great idea. Who better to represent the degenerate, savage inhabitants of a nuclear wasteland than the average gamer? How could anyone complain about immersion when this is their most accurate portrayal to date?
Immersion is the most common term in gaming used by dumbasses who think they understand the meaning of immersion. Immersion is derived from deep mental involvement. Fallout has game menus, loading screens, mini-games, dialogue, time-pausing/slowing mechanics, and cutscenes. All of these elements distract a player from focusing on the gameplay, breaking immersion on varying levels.
The actual comment about Fallout MP doesn't mean anything to me. It's the fact that people associate a term like "immersion" with RPG titles that actually matters. A community led to believe in a misappropriated definition. Propaganda of the lowest key. Also, Copy/paste? Where else did I post this?
Curious Incubus It sounds a lot like *you* don't know what immersion is. Have you ever felt immersed in a game? Because immersion is a feeling, not a scientifically identifiable trait inherent to a video game. Some games can immerse some players immensely while others won't get immersed at all. You really must have no idea what you're talking about if you think you have any idea what someone else can feel from playing a game just by the content of the game.
"Immersion is a feeling." No, it's a pretentious trademark used as a placeholder for experience, to make games look more like art from an outsider's perspective.
The only thing i'm wondering about, is how will mod support be for the game? You can't mod an online video game, and mods are the thing that keeps the Fallout games alive long after their releases.
Chris Eklund it could work from what i see. They could have make it like if you want to join that people game then you need to have the same mod or people could just join without the mods affecting their game like multiplayer mods for fallout and Skyrim
Please let offline be an option because i dont wont to die via 12 year olds ALL the time or to have my base destroyed via nuclear hell 24/7 And... what is going to happen mod-wise in this game for consoles? Will that still be a thing?
James Thomas Modding will likely be near-impossible, especially since it's online only, so it looks like the only mods that will be available will be the "Creation Club" """authorized""" mods that Bethesda can make cash off of. So tl;dr, free mods likely won't be available for the game.
let me preface this by saying that this is coming from a Fallout enthusiast who has completed Fallout 1-4 & New Vegas multiple times. not saying my opinion matters any more than someone who hasn't played as many games in the series, just providing this info to give an idea of what kind of player i am. i won't be preordering Fallout this time. i play Fallout to be immersed in and experience a post apocalyptic world. playing with friends would change that dramatically. yes, i know i can play solo but this game is obviously built with multiplayer as it's main focus. so, playing this game alone will NOT be the same as playing any of the other Fallout games alone. larger world, less characters (other players are now the characters). less story (we make our own stories). also, having to be connected online at all times in order to play (even if playing solo) is a huge negative for me. the monsters do look really awesome though. BTW, does anyone else think Todd Howard sounds EXACTLY like Steve Carell?
Yo I just want to say props for being the only negative comment that doesn’t sound whiny as hell. In my opinion, we haven’t seen enough to say it won’t be just as good solo. While you may be right about less characters, I think it’s a good story point since this is supposed to be the first vault. Personally, it seems to me that it’ll be a lot of fun, and I’m interested to see how it turns out. But I also don’t mind the online only aspect of the game, just because that’s what I expected.
thanks dude for presenting a good thought trough argument, I’ve also played though fallout 4 and 3 (I haven’t finished new Vegas I just recently got it) and I’m probably not gonna but it day one just to see how the game actually plays. It looks like it executes multiplayer well with the fact that it’s not 1000s of players, but I would have preferred if it was a coop PvE experience with 4 friends going through a normal fallout story.
I feel like I would agree more if Fallout 4 wasn't the very last game made by Bethesda Studios. I mean, c'mon, once again, everyone seems to believe that just because they make a non traditional version of one of their IP's it's just a cash grab. Fallout 5 will come out after Starfield and TES 6. They have a cycle; originally it was TES then Fallout, but they had a few other studios make games under the TES IP including ESO and Legends. Now, Fallout 76 is not a game meant for you Tiger Fox. It's also not supposed to be a replacement for a singleplayer experience either. It's an attempt at something players have been asking for: a multiplayer take on a Bethesda game. If you took a second, stopped looking at the game through a lens of it being a replacement for a singleplayer title, you'd be happy to realize they are just trying something fans have asked for. Wait till it comes out, and watch people play. It might have more depth than you think.
It could be great single player. We haven’t seen enough yet to tell, so don’t jump to conclusions so quick. Wait a few days after it’s release and see if ya worth your time
Djpiper28 Single player is still a thing and I’m 100% sure you’ll be able to play offline still. VATs is still in the game, wouldn’t be fallout without vats. As far as mods, no one knows.
Dexterwolf unfortunately todd howard just had an interview today and said there is no "offline" mode. He said vats is still in the game but its real time
I'll never forget the moment Todd said it's "all online." That is how to demolish a billion dollar company who made their money off incredible single story games over a decade.
Well there is NO campaign or proper questlines and no factions. The overseer will act ike the Minutemen faction repetitives quests ( go kill that, return this sample of this, get xp repeat again and again ). There is nothing to do if it's not for the multiplayer aspect to develop roleplay elements toward others players.
I can already see me going in trying to explore the wasteland and do MY OWN QUESTS then some kids launch a nuke at me or ambush me with their own squad. Why are people trying to kill other people anyways? Didn't you all emerge from THE SAME VAULT???
Ron Jeremy itd Co-op for sure. They showed that off in the video. Optional PvP will most likely be a hard no. Would kinda ruin the general aspect and idea of it.
What is most disappointing is that there doesn't seem to be a big focus on the story element (if there is one at all). At least when they presented FO4 they gave some hint as to what the story is about. It is such a waste too because I think you could do a great story for a setting set 25 years after the bombs dropped: You would have survivors who didn't stay in shelters and experienced the nukes and the subsequent loss first hand; you could have soldiers who could give their views on the after effects of war; you could have people starting to experience ghoulification/first ghouls; the formation of the first settlements, etc. This setting is a great opportunity to have a very dark and sombre story and it seems wasted. Who knows, they COULD have it in this game but, in my opinion, with the online element it would take away from the tone. Also, imagine the potential of interesting companions with interesting stories?
story isn't everything.... want good story? go play Planescape Torment. I am super excited about this. I hope it brings great features. I don't care much about the plot if the gameplay is implemented correctly.
Arguably, yes, the world of Fallout can work for an MMO but it will take away from what makes Fallout 'Fallout': exploring a desolate world on your own, stumbling upon pre-war ruins and having their story told through what is left behind. Shaping the world around you through how you interact with it and its people. I personally don't think you can achieve the same with an MMO.
Tis the curse of comments. Usually, like 5-10% of viewers will comment, and more often then not, comments are in protest for something to change because otherwise people are too lazy to say nice things and will just simply buy the game or watch the video or X,Y,Z to continue the anology. Therefore, on every video that may contain a controversial topic, you will ALWAYS see a large amount of 'haters', just because that's what youtube comment section selects for in its current form. Try not to let it bother you too much hehe.
He says “can be played solo, with a story and quests, we love that ourselves and wouldn’t have it any other way.” I think this game will be like gta V with the solo and gta online. Hope so
I’m for and much prefer the 100% solo for the fallout games, I mean like I hope it has the 100% solo mode. But your right about the dlc. Unfortunately that’s the way the industry is going now, it’s all about money they don’t give a shit about the community’s anymore
More like it’ll be like The Crew. Always online, just small lobbies. They are just saying you don’t have to team up to play the game. You can do all the quests solo
I'm 80% certain there will be emotes available as DLC. One of the preoder bonuses for either the regular or the power armor edition (not sure which) is some sort of salute emote. I'm excited for this game, but I want the purchasable emotes to be saved for overwatch and tf2 imho.
Say what you want about Fallout 76, but I really appreciate Todd's delivery in this. He is the only presenter I've seen that makes his script seem organic. He's not rigid on the stage, he's OWNING it; walking around and getting invested into his dialogue. He knows how to be funny on the stage and he knows when to pull back, and he knows how to keep a captive audience. There were some miscues near the end, sure; but they were accidents and he just rolled with it. Good job Todd Howard.
RejectedIdeasInc he's had practice talking shit and lying to peoples faces. Look at Skyrim E3 all lies. FO3 all lies. He's a man that makes broken promises. I don't trust him anymore. I'm not saying Bugthesdas games are bad I just won't be getting FO76 straight away.
I agree that it will probably respawn but if you can't choose servers then you might be locked in to what you've been given. If the server wiped every 24hrs then what would be the point of building anything? Even once a week would be a pain in the ass. Look my whole deal is Im cool with Coop I just don't want to deal other people in a game that is supposedly is story driven. Adding nukes in (the idea is awesome don't get me wrong) just seems like massive potential for fuckery. I wish they were more clear with what this game actually is.
SpaceWalker i think you need a fucking cult dedicated to track donw the key things to have that power besides theres only 1 missile shown that will probably respanw
Yeah, 99% sure the online is going to be permanently mushroom cloud covered, especially the starting area. Unless Bethesda are going to be the first dev company that can somehow keep their online survival game from being completely hatefucked by hackers. I'm not holding my breath, though.
