FNV fanboys be like "oh man FO4 SUCKED!..." *spends hours modding it similar to Fallout 4* lol, both equally pathetic. stand back betas, the FO3 gigachads are coming through (unmodded for maximum pain😎)
if you enjoy the immersion aspect of helmet overlays, but find them intrusive, the mod has a MCM where you can tweak the opacity of both the cracks and the normal overlay
This video was perfect for me. I haven't played New Vegas or 3, but knowing that i can backport features from 4 into NV is making me consider a playthrough!
You can port 3 into Fallout New Vegas with Tale of Two Wastelands mod (TTW). So then you can get all these new NV mods, and play both Fallout 3 and New Vegas with them with one character!
@@coldbumby New Vegas don't really need many mods tbh. I'm a bit of an old school player, but the clunky gameplay kinda ads to the game in New Vegas. I also find the weapons and gore to be alot more satisfying in New Vegas. It was the same in Fallout 3, it never gets old blowing something up in that game engine. I do really enjoy Fallout 4 as well, but I need to have several mods for it to actually become enjoyable whereas in New Vegas I can easily play vanilla. My only real criticism to New Vegas is the rather empty world. At times, you can walk for 10 mins without seeing anything or any enemy, which is kinda boring. As far as I know, New Vegas doesn't have random encounters which is a shame. Maybe there is a mod for that.
@@Skumtomten1 I tend to feel the same way about New Vegas, but I've only ever played 4 with bug fixes and Extended Dialogue Interface. What mods do you recommend for 4?
finally i watched some videos, where people didn't understand how to mix the fallout 4 style in fallout new vegas without doing something that totally miss the point of the video or heavily mod the game so it doesn't look like fallout new vegas, what i like about games is doing things to improve the game experience without taking the vanilla aspect of it. sorry for the mistakes in the grammar, english is not my main language.
The only mods I didn’t know about yet were RAD and Future Fallout Chems mods, and they look pretty rad so I’ll probably grab those. I also completely forgot that the VATS exit key tweak exists and I’ll definitely be using that now, so thanks
2:20 Am I alone in being a fan of more limited weapon modding in favour of more overhaul weapons? Been able to infinitely customise and convert weapons, to the point of switching ammo types is just unnecessary and not a replacement for the fun of finding new weapons. I want go back to the simple system of a weapon being a weapon with a few possible mods and that's it. Having the high amount of customisation of 4 along with the weapon variety of NV is probably too hard to balance and would just add unneeded complexity, I would always choose more weapons.
i like that the power armor mod mentioned doesn't make you have obnoxiously large to the point of every weapon in the game looking small in your power armored hands or massive in your non power armored hands
Might grab some of these mods to help ease my way into New Vegas. I may have started with Fallout 4, but I really wanted to get into New Vegas. The gameplay of NV just felt atrocious imo. The writing is top tier, but physically playing the game makes Sonic 06 look fun in comparison. Okay im being a little dramatic but some of these mods look pretty cool.
JAM's Bullet Time feature replicates a slowed-down VATS... _almost._ While you can't simply click on your slowed-down target as you can in VATS, JAM's bullet time slows time _and_ highlights your enemy's targetable zones (torso, limbs, head) just like VATS does.
I love how chill and matter of fact you are throughout the video, only to make no attempt to hide your utter disdain for WD and RTS lmfaooo. Good shit dude
Ehhh I wouldn't entirely agree with you about FO4's radiation system being better. Having persistent stat debuffs in a game like NV where your stats actually mattered (unlike in 4) is good. I always felt like FO4's system of simply reducing max health can be circumvented by just...healing more. -Combining both of them would be the best option, personally.- Edit: I spoke far too soon! The mod you mentioned does literally what I said. Nevermind.
Hard disagree on RTS. It's not great, but not near as bad as you laid it out, so long as you're not trying to use it as a replication Fo4's silly minecraft mode, which it clearly inspired. Bess is actually great as a pack brahmin and even has a portable tent with all the storage and crafting stations inside. The fact you have to make it to Mojave outpost to receive her also keeps it lore-friendly and at a good progression rate to deter overpowering the early game. I usually gravitate to the Highwayman and eventual Vertibird player home mods for traveling, but having Bess and her tent make foot travel both fun and convenient in the loot/sell gameplay loop. Plus, you can disable the hardcore mode and still build with out all the material requirements. Literally copy and paste any static object from the worldspace with resizing and rotating features.
i have actually used alot of these for awhile. i also use oHUD so i can make use of the adjustable hud. and also mtui i think it is, where it mmakes the dialogue and text areas of menus more fitting. widder where it needs to be, resized overall. just much nicer.
Excellent video as always, have you considered adding a "Thanks" button to your RU-vid channel? I would love to support you on Patreon, but payment through RU-vid is a lot more convenient for me. Hope to see more great videos from you in the future, take care!!
Thank you for reminding me that this option exists! I was not eligible for it the last time I checked. There's more content coming down the pipe, don't worry!
Dozens of weapon configurations in fallout 4 isn't really true. Yeah, you could probably mod 12 different 10mm pistols into "distinct" guns. But there are really just two upgrade paths for most guns. Otherwise most mods are just direct upgrades.
I notice no delay, either when using vanilla hotkeys or the Quick Select menu mod. It could be stuttering; I would put up a framerate counter and check if it drops while switching weapons.
I love how the thumbnail says "upgrading fallout new vegas" and then proceeds to show us literally the ugliest version of the 10mm pistol that's ever existed in a fallout game
I can't get the smooth iron sights mod working for the life of me. From the mod page, it seems most people have the same issue but there's no solution to be found.
Fallout4 have much better gunplay i dont understand how can someone say NV is better in gunplay, u should learn something about quality of animations/models/sounds
