I imagine everyone is really confused by all Useless Steve's actions, wondering what endgame he has in mind with all the backstabbing he does, but its all for the fact he's too stupid to come up with a better solution. Useless Steve: My mind is an enigma.

I'd like to think that the Boomers just pitied Steve and helped him out because he tried his hardest getting them trash.

Useless Steve walks into Nellis, "Hey, you're from outside. We need scrap metal, and I need a girlfriend, can you help with those?" "Okay, Boomer." Useless Steve has become Vilified.

42:30 *My theory about your first, failed, sneak kill attempt:* When you entered vats you got teleported in front of the target. Your sneak status went from hidden to detected, because your sneak is low and you didn't use a stealthboy. Now you can't see all this because you get the kill cam animation. Maybe you should have tried to drug up and kill with no vats assistance so you save your stealthboys?

This is like the 3rd or 4th time Jon has said he's never covered something before, completely forgetting the JSawyer run in which he covered said thing

i love the idea of useless steve just clearing out the entirety of the repconn test facility of scrap metal and coming back with like, four huge sacks of scrap metal and dumping it back onto jack back at the hanger

I love New Vegas, every time you play it theres a new thing that you never knew about that you discover. For example, I learnt that in Come Fly With Me if you side with Chris and sabotage the rockets you need to fetch Sugar Bombs. I never knew that as you normally talk him out of it and theres no reason to normally agree to help him. So many beautiful hidden parts to missions that you don't normally see

what this walkthrough teaches us is that even the least gifted people are truly amazing and capable of great things in life

This run is mad. I'm loving seeing the different ways to play New Vegas

It's still weird to see Jon wearing Power Armor

I didn't know you could become the chief of the khans and I've played this game so many times

Seeing Useless Steve go through all that work to get better defenses only to croak when a fish yells at him is super ironic

I'm genuinely curious as to what happened with Papa Khan.

Jon ive been playing this game ever since it came out and you STILL give me new information that i never knew. You never cease to amaze me Jon! Even when I watch you play a game I've played innumerable times and think "there's no way he can show me something I don't know about", you do it again! Most of the time, I help the Khans out, doing their quests, even choosing the option to give them a book of their history (which I learned from watching you). Never in my life did I think there was a way for you to become Khan leader! It's funny that Papa went off and chose an honorable death. Let's hope though that he isn't like the "Old Orc" from Skyrim and doesn't keep respawning.

I have 600 hours in this game, have finished it 10 times (some of them with weird playstyles like "only explosives" or "fail everything"), and had no idea you could become the leader of Great Khans. That's really interesting.

I have also done GI Blues while accepted in Freeside. As soon as I started up with Orris, one of the Kings immediately ran up to me in front of the Old Mormon Fort and did the, "Hey, thanks for helping out!" thing. Orris said nothing, but he might have been a bit suspicious at that point.

The amount of effort to get that plane to fly again would be stupendous. You could scratch build an air wing in it's place.

Steve does favors for the Kings. Gets a jacket, turns down a haircut, and The King won't even take his advice in the face of being massacred. Steve does favors for the Great Khans. Becomes their next heir, while the current King decides his time is over. Some people are A LOT more grateful than others.

Papa Khan randomly wandering INTO deathclaw territory so Useless Steve didn't end up having to kill him is the single most lucky, 'idiot savant' moment I've ever encountered in a Fallout game.

perhaps Papa Khan went towards Sloan looking for one final glorious battle, sensing his death was near he decided to die with glory in a fight against the Deathclaws. Useless Steve: yeah no that was totally my plan all along

In Vanilla, joining the Kings wasn't that much of a waste of a favor. It is the only way to get a haircut in Fallout New Vegas without the Old World Blues DLC.

The best part is how useless Steve is so useless he hardly shoots anyone in a main quest. Yet they all die anyways. Then they give him positive rep after they die.

I can't seem to get seem to get Followers of the Apocalypse membership despite being idolized. So I wouldn't say reputation is everything. I'm not sure what's wrong, I want access to their safehouse. I think it's because I haven't completed That Lucky Old Sun. I've been playing along, though not as a Useless Steve type character. I did leave my int at 4, the game is far too easy with high intelligence. Of course I've already maxed out several skills at level 27.

I always find it fascinating that Jon roleplays in strategy games and strategically plays the game mechanics in roleplaying games. Loving the series.

This is the most broken playthrough I've ever seen and I love it. Goodsprings is ruled by Scorpions The Boomers have all the same problems except slightly more metal. Camp Forlorn Hope has been wiped out in an effort to complete For the Republic and Papa Khan decided he was going to gout out in his own way

I like to think Papa Kahn just has a sleep walking problem and when he forgot to lock his bedroom door he just wandered out into the wastes.

Useless Steve games the system super hard, he's on Forrest Gump levels of bland yet shocking success.

By the way John, giving the dogtags to Decanus Severus instead of Aurelius of Phoenix gives more reputation for the same amount of dogtags. You can look at the Fallout Wiki pages on this, but giving 5 dogtags at a time to Decanus Severus in exchange for food gives you +12 legion fame per 5 dogtags, which is double the amount you received from Aurelius of Phoenix.

Useless Steve is the kind of guy who doesn't use viceroyalties :p

I’ve heard from cut content divers that an early version of Papa Khan was built for the general Sloan area, likely for Don’t Make a Beggar of Me. So I guess there was just some sort of AI package mishap that moved him to Sloan? I’ve never seen this happen, it’s weird.

@7:00 - Novac is swimming in scrap metal (and the other components needed to make weapon repair kits) because they scavenge from the Test Site as their main form of industry (or did, before the ghouls showed up). Edit: Oh, yeah, and you can also give Raquel missiles for Boomer rep, if you feel like being insane. Personally, though, I prefer to just do the quests. Of course, my characters aren't Useless Steve and therefore can pass most of the skill checks (Comprehension rules more than Tunnel Snakes) for lots and lots and lots of XP. :) @14:00 - Gotta love how the Lakelurk sonic attack ignores DT/DR. :) @16:00 - Coincidentally, the exact right spot you need to be for the detonator happens to be beside the winch that the Boomers' robots will use offscreen to drag the bomber ashore. How is this person and this car in this cave? Jon its next to a Dam. The water levels change. Remember when you played Dust? Last time i was at Hoover Dam was during a drought. Super low water levels and Lake Meade was way smaller than usual, some people even go out there with metal detectors.

You actually have gone over the items = fame thing, along with Volare, before on the You Only Live Once run, cause the fire ants were too dangerous. You also went over it again when you farmed dog tags for legion fame to avoid hit squads after siding with house. Still something people should know, but you have actually gone over it. Starting to think you might have gone over literally everything possible now.

He's going to visit some DLC locations? Oh god he's going to nuke both the NCR and Legion out of sheer incompetence.

Haha reminds me of the old infinite xp glitch where you repeat the same dialogue over and over. Boosted one of my toons to lvl 40+ before leaving Goodspring. Fallout games are so broken.

Alternatively you can also just give all the dogtags to the ncr, and use the broken mine disarming dialogue with Severus to get up to idolised with both of them easily.
