I spend a few days helping my son look at over priced houses in Durham, NC. The Cicadas are emerging in mass and the noise is deafening. But we have a great time camping and the weather is just a little wet. Fun Campground. I hope they fix the bathrooms. Check out the Links Below!

Thanks for a very thorough campground review. Yes, the cicada orchestra did give a distinctive background to the video. Real camping “music.” I thought those ball tosser things were for throwing distance and didn’t realize how wonderful the secondary function of picking up the ball without touching it was!

Sounds like the bugs were more courteous then the tenters. At least the bugs stopped making noise at the end of the day. 😁Nice campground though. Always appreciate your reviews.

The old days are over. If you have a small inventory, you have to be the high bidder and pay beyond the asking price. We just sold mothers house and the buyer paid 30 k more than asking. A buddy had his on the market and it went 17 k over asking.

Some people eat cicadas claim they are full of protein .I would have to pass on that.might have to one day but not now..The campground did look very nice .waiting on the Aliner rally thanks again

Yes, you can eat them. But you have to remove the wings and then fry them in butter or bacon grease. We had to try them when I was in college. Not sure the different species taste any different though another thing about cicadas is that there are no insecticides that kill them.

Housing market is high all over. Bidding the price up beyond the asking price. Interest rates are following what the FED has done with the Prime Rate. When that comes down, hopefully recent buyers will be able to refi into something lower. High rent or high mortgage, thats our current climate for housing. Thanks for sharing the Cicadas!

I'm told the cicada explosion will not go north into NY. You'll have to suffer with your regular band of annual cicadas. And when I was buying my houses, It was always said if you offer the seller the listing price, they are obliged to take the first offer. Now RE agents just push people on to bid more !! Poor Ethics in my mind. And if people did ask to pay more for my house, I would assume the RE agent did not have a clue what the house was worth or the market.

Good video Rick. Won't express my views on the housing market. How do you track the temperature of the fridge and freezer ? How is the towing doing ? . Are you thinking of a end of the season recap on the wolf pup ?

The pup tows nicely. No WDH. I’m working on the recap now. I use a 4 unit remote thermometer to track temperature in freezer, fridge, outside and inside. I normally carry it in the car to monitor temperature while driving.

Sorry to say if they want a house nothing is going for asking.. I live right near falls like in Wake Forest. All homes in my neighborhood have gone over asking. Several were cash offers at well over 700k and sold in a weekend. It's a tough market here if your buying..

Its crazy! My fear is its a bubble that will likely burst just as they are going to move again and they’ll be under water like it was in 2008. Time will tell!

Beware of copperhead snakes, the cicada's are their favorite food! Copperhead sightings have almost tripled since the cicada hatch based on your location. I'm working out at Jordan Lake and they started humming a couple of weeks ago and they're still at it. I'm surprised your son is using a realtor. I thought using Zello or one of the other house buying apps was the hot way to buy a house for hipsters or Gen Z or X or whatever the hell they identify as!

Zillow just points you to a listing realtor. It doesn't give you any contact information. There are some "For Sale By Owner" (FSBO) listings on Zillow, but usually those are houses that are listed above their actual worth and have problems the bank won't finance. It's a corrupt racket!

Go into the earplug business.. you'll make a fortune! The only good thing about a gross shower is that you can LEAVE... which is what I gotta do, now... so see ya on the next one!!
