I agree with you on Prime being stuck in the G1 style rut. We've had G1/G1 design style figs for so long it's like Hasbro forgot they could do different designs. G1 gets circle jerked too much, Hasbro needs to experiment again.

G1 is now a sore dong but Hasbro still milks it cause it still produces results. Like how big companies dont innovate or fix issues cause they know people would still buy it and its the easier route for them to take.

If you tired see the same G1 over and over, you can buy from 3rd party figures (reliable brands of course, dont blame me misleading when you buy from unknow brands)

If you don't do G1 the fanbase has a fit and if you do G1 the fanbase says they're bored of G1. It's impossible to please everyone

That really struck me when i got these in hand. Prime is like 2007 era Voyager size. Just so beefy, he dwarfs Gamer Prime, and I thought he was chonky. Soundwave is smallish, he's a tall deluxe or small voyager. He's just stuck between those classes.

Mine doesn't have the loose chest. At least not noticeably. I pulled him out of a mass of figures by the arm and I still had to physically pull that apart to test it. And the most egregious sin against Soundwave is he's the same size as the Bumblebee. Bee's almost bigger. Really feels like a bait and switch.

My issue with prime is the tolerance on the chest i have had two and on both the silver parts on the top of the chest are starting to damage from his transformation due to how the chest folds over the arms

It's a great Prime, just needs a different ion blaster. I got it. The way I looked at it was $65 for a new Prime and a free Soundwave 'truck' 🥴. Love the O.P. the Soundwave not so much.
