I am a failed sinner, I cry out to you Lord CHRIST JESUS, please give me the strength to continue on this planet, i have a family I need to be here for, just let me finish this task, allow me to focus on you throughout the day, dispell my depression, return my cognitive function. By your Grace alone I have salvation, satan is attacking me psychologically rebuke satan from me. May my heart continue to grow with love for You, may my heart fully surrender to you, CHRIST forgive me of my sins, allow me to dwell in your presence, please Lord go easy on me.
Your doing the right thing, go to Christ directly. Do overdo these preachers. They are all right in their own eyes too much. Right doctrine propriety over right loving. Christ said He would save all who come to Him as a child and put faith in Him. Accept His life in you for your life without Him. He will never forsake you. If you know Him and accept His redemptiin for you.
RC Sprouls is a Calvinist and I wouldn't listen to him at all. His theology is really messed up. If you are truly born again, you belong to God and are NOT in His eyes a failure. That is your flesh talking and thinking like that. Submit to God,resist the devil he will flee from you. Remember to use the authority Jesus has given us over all the power of the enemy. When there is mental struggle it is best to recite out loud Gods word , rebuke out loud all unclean spirits , and just praise Jesus for victory ..He will be with you through your struggles. He is with you ALWAYS , His love and presence dwell INSIDE you always...
@@j.i.karner1421 Read up on the tulip doctrine of Calvinism . Read up on John Calvin who started this heresy. There is a list of Calvinist preachers online mark and avoid everyone of them if you are interested only in the truth. Anyone believing and teaching selective salvation and damnation I ain't interested in hearing their take on anything . They do NOT understand the richness of God's mercy and grace.
You may find Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones helpful or S Lewis Johnson. Also, the Puritans. Heard of John Bunyan? Many true believers struggle like us! The church does a poor job in just expounding Scripture and trusting the Holy Spirit! Take for instance, "The Prodigal Son", one of the most mishandled text of Scripture! It really is about a Holy Heavenly Father. And, the true Prodigal, is the Elder brother! Shame on us!
Brother. Have you went to Jesus on your knees with THE TRUTH about yourself that He has allowed you to SEE? It's good to see yourself and not deny it, but rather confess, and REPENT directly to God Almighty in prayer alone. In sincerity, knowing that you (we) are honestly NOTHING GOOD, He will hear you. Once you are born again (you'll know) never look back. Continue your journey WITH GOD on The Way to eternity with your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray that God Almighty will hear your heart and your prayer. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.
Luke 13: 23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’ Philippians 2: 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. 1 John 2: 3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. Remember, being biblically, or " doctrinally correct, does not in any way = eternal salvation. Only being crucified with Christ is the Way He makes for entry.
Only through the merits of Jesus Christ am I saved by Him. Jesus Christ died on the Cross at Calvary and rose again on the third day in order to save me from my sins and give me eternal life-- because I believe in Him. No other reason. ❤🙏✝️ I tired of being terrified by every wind of doctrine.
@@jacquimeier800 I want to encourage you that we can fully trust Jesus and His promises. Rest easy, there are many voices in the world that will tell you eternal security is a lie. Jesus tells us clearly in John 6 twice, all given to Him NONE will He lose. Rest in Him
Alistair Begg imagined the man on the cross arriving in heaven and being questioned by angels "why are you here?" And the angels star asking theological questions he can not answer and he finally responds with "the man on the middle cross said I could come". And that is the only answer we have.
All will be judged. He didn't say you could stay in paradise, only he would be in paradise on that day. Again, there is a great white throne judgment. Some will stand some will kneel. Even the angels are judged.
@@NemesisEn4cer I was judged on the cross. The Messiah paid my debt and stands in my defense. That's the story for all who live by faith in Christ. Same with the man on the cross. He lived by faith. Christ wouldn't pay your ransom and make atonement for your sins, then judge you for the very sins He atoned for. You need to repent of your lack of knowledge and mishandling the Word of God and search the Scriptures.
@@joshhigdon4951 on the cross he/Jesus said Father forgive them. Jesus does not command the father to do anything. If what you said were true. We would already be raised incorruptible. If the price was paid, why do we still suffer in Satan's kingdom. There's more to the story. You have a prosecutor on the other side. In that day, only the Father will be judge. Matt 7 21-23
@@NemesisEn4cer you apparently are non-trinitarian. There is no prosecutor for those who's sins have been paid for in full. That would not be justice. Listen to what you are saying. You really need to take care of how you handle the Scriptures, lest you lead someone into dangerous error.
@@joshhigdon4951 then what is the great white throne judgement for? Sins were never paid for they were atoned for. Jesus was atonement. Rev 21. Also, Jesus never said or wrote one word. He is quoted as saying. 30 to 60 years later. Quoted by men, fallible men.
Read Matthew 24:4 & 5 Also, Mark 13:22 & Matthew 24:24 On what basis are you trusting in any human preacher for your salvation because you presume they may be better than the Pharisees whom Jesus clearly exposed as liars and hypocrites? This is a very good message! I’m glad someone is addressing the issue of “false assurance” because it seems very common. True repentance is needed (ie, turning TO God) and is not a “once and done,” but a daily turning to the Redeemer and walking with Him. As we walk with Him, He transforms us from the heart outward, and eventually good deeds will flow from that, not to “be saved” but because we ARE saved and His life is flowing through us. He is the vine and we are the branches. Those who REMAIN in Him will bear good fruit.
@@davidchupp4460 Promised to those who REMAIN in Him/His love as He emphasized many times in John chapter 15. And several verses sound like warnings against presumption such as 15:2, 6, and 10. Would you pass the test of Galatians 5:22-24?
@@davidchupp4460 WHERE does it say that? Where are the scriptures to back your assertions? The demons BELIEVE per James 2:19! God hears my prayers. I don’t know why. But I met Jesus after God gave me a new heart and I am still repentant to this day from all my “new” memories. I go to church where I have rarely been and know nothing about it = it’s heirarchy, what it’s like to be new to Christ, etc. The behaviors floored me, the attitudes stunk and the hate was as thick as fog. I persisted because I just didn’t know. I still didn’t know if I was totally saved, either. So i persisted and when I spoke of Jesus, people ran away. IT’s as if only the pastor could speak of him (know him) and everyone else is just NPC or something. Today? I go in and when I see someone I ask, “Do you love him?” Their answer is a giveaway.
I was born in a traditional catholic country but once i read the new testament as an adult, i got re-baptized (submerged) at my own request and never looked back. Salvation had entered my heart after many years of superficial religion. catholic = universal. That's why my friends/family won't budge from their traditions. I'm a lost sheep according to them. The vatican is the biggest stumbling block to people who are wholeheartedly seeking Christ...I'm not saying everyone in evangelical churches are saved. so I just pray.
And Eternal Conscious Torment is what Evangelicals have in common with Roman Catholicism. Fear of Hell to keep them in fear and clutching the church leaders and their books for some assurance.
Ty Jesus For making Salvation so simple. ❤ on the basis of your shed blood alone, i am Saved. You came 2 live inside of me..and i am your legs, hands, feet tongue.
Out of love for your soul you are not saved because you must obey, believe & profess the 10 Commandments. One must also profess, believe and obey the Three Pillars of Christendom of the Church. Throughout the New Testament Jesus also tells us that we must stop singing along with being sanctified, glorified and justified in order to enter into his heavenly kingdom.
“ and they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. Then some began to spit on Him and to blindfold Him and to beat Him and to say to Him ‘ Prophesy!’ And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.” Mark14:65 Surely He who suffered much and died, and being THE SON OF THE BLESSED has the anil😢to save us.
Surely indeed! " He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them". Whoever calls upon the Name of the LORD Shall be saved.
We are not saved by the works of the Law but through faith. And then we are to follow the new commandment Jesus gave us to love one another and the acts that show that love. James tells us that faith without works is dead. If we have faith without works, we will be judged.
We all must die unless we are here when the lord comes back first!!! Then I know that it's nothing I've ever done that would get me in! Only by the shed blood of Jesus on the cross!!! I don't do good works! I know I don't deserve anything!!
The *NEED* for salvation isn't talked about enough today. Salvation is not simply a pamphlet that you take and put in your back pocket because someone from a church offered it to you, salvation is not a checklist of pretty works that you must do in order to be considered "saved". Salvation begins as an urgent need for Christ that is placed into your heart by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit, once you know that you need Jesus then the work of salvation happens in your heart when you finally cry out to Jesus Christ the Lord and ask him earnestly for salvation, that is true salvation.
If you have been born again and you know it, then you know that you are saved. You will know God as your father. Few there be that find it. It's between you and Jesus only.
Christ is the only assurance. If you for any reason believe that you are saved apart from the blood of Christ then you can be assured you have false assurance. However on the contrary… if you believe in Christ and trust in Him alone then you can be assured that you are saved for Gods word has confirmed this over and over
i believe m,any will be saved on the 8th day like Thomas and Paul: by seeing and believing and confess according to the verse regarding every knee and tongue.

The man on the cross dwells in you and you have put your faith in Him. "No one comes to the Father but through me" said Jesus. The answer is Jesus. It has always been the answer b/c He is the answer. It's your relationship with the Lord, not your good works or that you went to church and sing kumbaya. When the Father sees you, He sees his Son in you.
Seems to be a rule of high intelligence, one must overcomplicate issues. Why concern yourself whether one is ‘genuinely’ saved. Share the gospel using the fruits of the Spirit.
For over two thousand years the precise intent of biblical passages have been debated. Blessed be this man and the lucky few to hear him for they know what the bible says.
Paul said to just take it for granted or live by faith and not by sight. In other words, you can't know but assume that you do as if you knew your assumption is true.
God has given us life...has defeated sin and death through Christ...our Job is to believe it...if we believe this, then God will do his work in us..we have passed from death to life...there are 99% of unbelieving X-tians...
I have only torment of hell running through my mind every waking hour. I got struck with the most horrible unique terminal illness which awakened me to the dreadful state of my being all my 'christian' life. How I ever thought I was saved for over 40 years now baffles me. I will have no shocks when my soul departs. I trampled the cross all my life and must have been the most pathetic unattractive witness at best to a loathesome scoundrel at worst to many who met me. My natural death will be absolute torment of mind and body. I have never believed in Jeus as much as I do now and how I am so sorry but it is too late.
Stop listening to the devil's lies! RESIST HIM! Listen to God! Be reconciled to God! If you're a sinner, Christ died to save sinners. Stop being foolish. God's Grace isn't based on what you did, but on what Jesus has done. ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU, and He will.
@@Caleb-xf5yn Thankyou for taking time to encourage. Unfortunatley I am dying from Sporadic Fatal Insmonia which is such a rare illness and desparate way to die. God promises to give sleep to His children. This illness is a direct challenge to that promise and it came upon me directly through sinning.
If even Joshua the high priest had to be clothed in white garment by the Angel of the Lord (theophanic appearance of Christ) in Zechariah's vision, then rest assured its still because of the grace of God and the accepted atonement of God by Jesus Christ.
Rich Young Ruler: How many persons is it recorded that Jesus "loved" that person....Can the Lord unlove someone, especially when recorded as testimony?? Trust in your works and you'll have false confidence. Genuine faith in Christ grants a needy sinner repentance from dead works and faith (trust) toward Christ as the only source of propitiation. The "Lord, Lord crowd" had confidence in their own flesh (their works). God didn't even know them.
A Roman Catholic who died fighting the Nazis is worth more than a circumcised Bugsy Siegal ( and more than I am worth for that matter) but that doesn’t justify rejecting Yahweh’s laws and commandments. I believe this sums up most of what Paul said aptly.
Many use the buzzword of “legalism” incorrectly on people who are being sanctified. We are saved through faith, just as all throughout Scripture. Christ came and his blood was shed for “forgiveness of sin” instituting the New Covenant (NOT removing the Old) which is “writing the Law on the hearts”! Your response to obedience is transformed through the free gift of salvation. Some DO because they are being sanctified to align with the father’s will and “live as He did.” We do because we are saved, not to be saved. People are quick to slap a legalistic label and judge the motives of others heart when they should be reflecting on their disobedience. “If he says that he knows me and does not keep my commandments, he is a liar and the truth is not him.”
Unless I have missed something, I know of nothing in Scripture that indicates the God, Jesus, an angel, or Peter will ask any questions of us when we die. So although this hypothetical question that preachers and theologians have come up with might be used by the Lord in some instances to bring individual people to repentance by making them consider eternity, it would be more effective to simply preach the good news of Christ crucified, including the eternal warnings that Jesus himself highlighted in a number of his parables and discourses. ✝️🙏🏼📖
The only requirement: believe that Jesus died on the cross and was dead for 3 days but He has risen and sits on the right hand of God. Thst is all. Why do you make it so complicated. The only answer you can give is because you believe in Jesus Christ and the sacrifice on the cross.
Those coming saying, Lord, Lord may very well be all those that thought their works and nothing more would get them into Heaven. There are many people who know who Jesus is, yet still think their works are what get them into Heaven. That's the verse to show your friend who believes they are good and don't need Jesus. Jesus is not saying in this verse that He does not know who you are. He is saying He does not know you; you have not spent time together to be known.
Let us not be fooled! We do not want to be one of those who will be turned away on that day when men stand before God. The way is narrow, and the road is straight, and FEW be that find it. Matt 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Verse 22 MANY will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Verse 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it. Our sin has set us all on the road to hell and no amount of good will fix the sin we have done. We have ALL sinned. It is not about the type of sin or how much sin. It is about the fact that we have all sinned. For that reason we all need a Savior. If we want forgiveness for our sin and peace with God. If we want to escape eternal hell. If we want to go to heaven we must understand the following. We DO NOT get saved (go to heaven), get right with God, forgiven, by being good, by being religious, by just believing in God, by praying a prayer, being baptized, asking or accepting Jesus into our hearts, accepting Jesus as our personal Saviour, confessing our sins, joining a church, cleaning up our lives, doing penance, taking the bread and the wine, or doing all these things accumulative. Salvation takes repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Acts 20:21. testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Make no mistake. We cannot be a friend of Christ and remain a rebel against God. The word repent, from the Greek word “metanoia”, means a change of mind or direction. God is not receiving those who almost or kind of repents. It is like the word About-face which is a 180 degree turn. We turn from not wanting God fully in our lives to willfully surrendering to Him to lead our lives. When any person comes to the place where they are broken over their sin toward God to the point that they want to get right with God no matter what it will cost them they are in a state/spirit of repentance toward God. Luke 14:33 Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. We then take that heart we have towards God and place it on the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Master and that becomes faith. At that moment God’s grace through Christ is freely applied to us and we are born again, saved from eternal hell and sealed by the Spirit so that we will never again return to the practice of sinning. Eph. 2:8,9, 1John 3:9,10. Our first command after salvation is to be baptized. Repentance of sin is the result of the new birth/salvation and will be part of the sanctification process and our new life with the Lord Jesus Christ, Eph 2:10. While we may sin from time to time after salvation it will never again be our practice 2Cor. 5:17, 1John 3:9,10. John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. REV. 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

I don't agree. If you are not 100% sure, how can you be truly free to express that freedom Jesus died to give you, and by doing so please God naturally? Without Faith it is impossible to please Him. I'm assured because He made me assured by chastening me and making me get my christian act together and overcoming by standing in Jesus victory over sin and death. No assurance - no freedom - no power - no authority. And your definition of "Hope" is also not correct. It sounds more like the false hope of the world's dead religions. HOPE is an anchor for the soul. It is a sure looking forward to what the soul knows is coming. God gave us the gift of His Son to be received by Faith. To be unsure is not Faith.
According to the Westminster Confession, which Sproul holds to, God "from all eternity, did, by the most wise and holy counsel of His own free will, freely, and unhangeably ordain" the false insurance in those who suffer from it. Those people can do nothing about it. They can't help having a false assurance. 😢 😢😢
@@Madcow7777 But if God gave someone "false assurance", that meant He was lying to them the whole time about their salvation. But God cannot lie. So if one teaches that God gives false assurance, that person should be marked and avoided.
If theres one thing RC Sproul teaches, it's false assurance. The man himself wasn't even saved and stated himself he wasn't sure if he knew the gospel, despite teaching people as if he did. He is in hell now. Where he belongs.

Mark 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men (mankind), even blasphemies howsoever they shall blaspheme: Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness, but is in danger of hell. (The "UN-forgivable SIN") Now, when any one believes IN Jesus; and Jesus deems they are sincere; He will cause His 'Holy Spirit" to give them a new "Birth". But not another "flesh" birth. Rather; a Heavenly "Spiritual Birth". And that birth can NEVER be taken away. For it's ensconced forever; regardless of what that person does. (But they WILL be "punished" for ALL sins, 7 fold; and blessed untold; for every good deed on earth!) Believe it or not. And the phrase..."Once Saved Always Saved!", is fact absolute forever. Praise Jesus' Holy Name. In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
"Call people to repentance"! Sadly, in these days the word REPENT is seldom used in any "alter call" and so few repent but simply "come as they are" and remain in their sin. The modern church is stuck on the "free cheap GRACE" methodology where the sinner does not need to cooperate with the Saviour in working out his or her own salvation - work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.Phil 2:12-13 (ESV) Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins Acts 2:38 (ESV)
Whenever I hear anyone say "I am saved." my first thought is this. Are you telling God that you are saved? Are you making that judgement for God? Best to ask God if He will save us. As humbly and graciously as possible. And continually. My opinion.
beliving in universalism that all relgions are saved and you believe jesus died for your sins means you are not saved you do not believe in the cross that jesus is the only way to be saved
First John 2:2. And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. But, John 3:18. Believers are no longer condemned, but UNBELIEVERS are condemned already because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God. First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, THAT YE MAY KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 6:47. God cannot lie. Acts 16:31. Romans 11:6. Romans 4:5-8. Romans 3:26-28. The gospel. First Corinthians 15:1-4. Galatians 1:6-9. If anyone preaches any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I again, if any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received from us, let him be accursed. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Paid in full. No longer condemned. John 3:18.
there are two types of Christians . THOSE WHO BELIEVE THAT PAUL WAS A APOSTLE AND THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE ORIGINAL APOSTLES .,one is sealed by the holy spirit as assurance and one believes by faith alone .WHICH ARE YOU? i was sealed by the Holy Spirit the moment i first believed for real THAT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT ALL ALONE IN MY BEDROOM WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT CAME AND PLACED THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST ON MY FOREHEAD ASSURING ME THAT I NOW HAD ETERNAL LIFE PROVING TO ME ONCE AND FOR ALL THAT GOD IS REAL
Here is the essence of false assurance. When you believe God's law, the Ten Commandments were nailed to the cross and Sunday is sacred. Scripture teaches no such doctrines and all those who embrace that kind of Christianity, do so at the peril of their souls.
I’m in agreement with you, but would add that THE JUDGE will judge everyone perfectly and hold them to the best understanding of truth that was available to them. For a good part of history, a “Samaritanized,” synchretized, paganized, gospel was all that most illiterate peasants had - yet they knew that Jesus died for us sinners and some responded with grateful hearts. Yet for those of us who have access to the Word, can read it and study it for themselves, but choose to love their traditions rather than THE TRUTH, will surely be held to a higher standard. Luke 12:47-48 So let us be loving to those on this journey. Because it IS a journey even in learning to follow His commands, from the TWO, to the TEN, to the TOTAL (as much of the Torah as can be applied in this day/age). And pray for others to make the needed paradigm shift - to winnow all their inherited beliefs/ideologies/ideas/practices/traditions and let the Ruach Qodesh/Holy Spirit-Wind blow away the chaff of falsehoods while we retain the grains of truth.
Sorry mate, but a lot is going on when the man ask Jesus to remember him when He comes into His kingdom. To reduce his answer to a trite "the man in the middle told me to come", is dishonoring to the man, who have faith in the word of God. Faith comes be hearing the word. It's dishonoring to Christ who fulfils the Torah. the Law of love on his behalf. We are not saved in a great theology, theology belong solely with the Greek philosophers. We are saved with the simple receiving of God's word. God's word brings faith with it, because it is God Himself, how can He ever doubt Himself? We are rooted and grounded in Love. But it is not just any love, it is the love of God. That is why it takes power to grasp it and to have a personal experience of it. There is a reason why the phrase "assurance of salvation" does not appear in the scriptures. Both are wrong. Both positions are two sides of the same bad coin. As God does not change, His love does not change, then we lean on Him. We take whatever our loving Father gives us, as kids we are not always going to understand it. But By taking His word, we allow Him to abide in us and He will see what He needs to see, and His word in us will enlighten us how to be sanctified. It really is not meant to be rocket science.
