I was a dancer for most of my childhood and young adulthood, and as a kid, I watched this show, wishing I could go to that school! When I went to college, I was in the dance company, so I took regular classes and dance classes, then rehearsed the rest of the time! I was in my element. I felt like those kids from Fame!
Loved this TV show as a teenager, especially the dance routines, choreography and addictive music!!! Never noticed back then that Janet Jackson was in the cast. How did I miss that??? Characters like Leroy, Danny, Doris and Lydia though I remember her as Debbie Allen were the ones I will never forget!!! Goes down with "Flashdance" again Irene Cara and her unbelievable vocal cords and Jennifer Beal as the "hottest dancer" in town are magnanimous memories of the 80's that not just inspired me then but keep me going, and very very happy about it too now as I enter my 50's......🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶....💕.......✨.......

Oh my, i remember when i used to watch this show i was so little. I was so in love of the characters dancing in the studio. I didn't understand nor care about what was happening in the show. I was always waiting for them to dance. The city, their clothe, their dance moves and music. Dang it was good.
The MOST rousing movie song ever!!! Every time I watch this video, my heart pounds all through it. A great bunch of kids with the most wonderful talents! Nothing can ever match it.
Oh fame. When we were kids we'd pretend we were in some old, musty school with no a/c just dancing around. We would dance out in the street. Those were the days!!
One of the best TV series ever made. But it was ahead of it's time & didn't get the viewers & support it deserved. As a pro ex-dancer. I know only too well how difficult it is to fill the floor/stage with just your presence, your body, your moves, your rhythm & your music. To hold the audience's attention & keep them engaged - until "the dancer becomes to dance!" And even after all these years. This still brings back fond memories of a youth long gone.
nostalgic....i am 42 yrs old,and still remember that tv serie who signed our 80s decade...when we were kids.....may could to go bach the time,just only for a day....lucky who grow up at 80s-90s...the best decades ever!brothers,greetings to all of u from Hellas
I loved this series! Still do, after all these years. I was in my teens, and watching this made me dream of how it would be to be a student in this academy🙂

It just occurred to me this was an enormous cast. Fame was very popular in the Netherlands, we watched it everytime. I believe at some point the cast even did a tour in Europe.

Oh, I miss 80's teenage life. It was a good time. The music was beautiful, handsome man, no plastic surgery or big muscles needed. It's not as chaotic as 2020, I can't adapt to keep up with the world.
