No the last NES game was Adventure Island 4 in 1994 but I guess you mcould say that Wario woods and Zelda Famicom re release were the last NINTENDO made games

Think about it, this commercial was published in the same year that the PlayStation was launched. In 1994, 3 console generations coexisted simultaneously.

He was the voice of classic characters like Goemon Ishikawa (Lupin III), Nezumi Otoko (GeGeGe no Kitaro), Gold Roger (One Piece), Dr. Eggman (Sonic the Hedgehog), as well as the official Japanese voice for Dick Dastardly and Disney's Captain Hook. During the 90s, he was also the voice of Wario in commercials, like this one. Fun fact: his son, Akio Ohtsuka is also a voice actor. One of his most well known roles is Solid Snake, and as a reference to this, Chiakao Ohtsuka voiced Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 4.

Considering Link's canonical voice didn't exist before OoT, that's a pretty accurate Link shout. Link's Awakening came out the same year this aired, so maybe Nintendo had a general idea for his voice. Or maybe they got the idea from this commercial.

I think it's symbolic that Link and Wario barely made it under the console shell before it closed as the zelda cart version release and wario's woods were some of the last games made for the console ^_^
it's refreshing to see wario and link at the forefront of the commercial even having them seem to pair up, i wonder if those two were particularly popular in japan at the time of this commercial's making
Am I the only one who finds the imagery a bit dissonant? I mean, the Nintendo characters are all singing a happy song whilst the top of the NES closes in on them. I know they appear on the TV once the top comes down, but it's like a funeral when the coffin lid closes for good.
Well.. technically The Lion King by Dark Technologies was the last official game on the NES. Wario's Woods was the last game on the NES that was developed by Nintendo themselves.
A more optimistic look at it could be comparing it to the curtain call after the happy ending of a play. I mean, it was sort of a curtain call for the NES/Famicom era, and God knows we all had fun with our Nintendo Entertainment Systems and Nintendo Family Computers at the end of the day, so seeing everyone get along, including the villains, other enemies, and Wario, is kind of heartwarming when you look at it that way.
Wario has repect for people. He is just clouded with money and things he could achieve by manipulation. Wario is just mental, giving him a chance to treat Link like he does here on a good day.
Imagine if the commercial for Panel De Pon (The Japanese version of Tetris Attack) was like this. All of the fairies in a chorus, with Lip (The main character of Panel De Pon) as the conductor, singing with them. That would be adorable.
Funny how the Famicom 2 in japan had AV out as a big part of the branding but when it came over to the US they took out the AV and replaced it with RF out lol
it may mean nothing but they go over to the "bad guys" bowser, wart and dedede for the lower notes and the princess for the higher notes. However yoshi and zelda are center stage while kirby is in the back . Peach doesn't even get a close up

that's pretty long for a home console if you ask me. I mean, the Wii came out in, what, 2006? and it ended with the Wii U around 2017? The NES lasted longer than that by about four years! Jeez!
You know it’s weird that the famicom av has its selling point being that it’s got an av output but the American equivalent “the top loader” is the definitive nes apart from the fact it doesn’t natively have an av output
I never understood why Nintendo never just released it with the AV output over the regular RF that the first model used, like was it a cost saving measure or something?
