Nope. wrong. The character shook No to one other person, who was asking for the character to "hold their baby".. He then looked directly at these little girls, shook his head no and refused to High five them. Even though he did it to the kids BEFORE them and AFTER them.. Make it make sense. Stop with all these excuses trying to justify racism
@@GeneralBuckNaked Maybe you're right... but if this character is indeed racist then how can it be that this is the first time someone has complained about it? is this the first time black children visit such park? is this the first time a black family feels offended? I have a hard time believing any of that... Either way, if this character was indeed being racist then I hope he gets fired because no child should be treated like that...having said all this... I'm way more concerned about the 73 year old black man from Philadelphia who was brutally beaten and murdered by a group of black kids.
It happens but they are sure blowing it out of proportion and taken out of context and if your child’s self-worth is wrapped up in one hand clap of a green creature we have bigger problems!
Why are being so damn disrespectful and offensive on here. Maybe you should be banned permanently from RU-vid. Others have already said that they have also been disrespected by the same character as well and that Sesame Street refused to take action on It. If you mr going to be that offensive on this then I will report you and hopefully RU-vid will ban you permanently from here because I do find that your comment is very offensive and shows racism at others.
Cuz it makes the kids feels left out wtf. When the character is hugging and High Fiving every single little kid who isnt black, but then shakes his head NO to you, before walking right past you. Why wouldnt you be mad? Yall weirdos always trying to make these bullshit excuses
Same for me, I did write a long comment about how and why this happened to me ( after multiple really bad encounters with blacks). But yt censored it. Dont say a word against the great black people, it is taboo. Anyway, same problems, same demographic( Subsaharians and black Carribeans)but in Western Europa, and here nobody dares talking about it in public, but most of us hate them for what they do, not what they look like.
@Vegetablesmoneygrasslove yes it can seems evil from a youtube comment pov, but my traumas are real and blm doesnt care about that. Just per say I am not white, the world isnt just an old 50s movie in black and white.
I mean, tbh, person in costume did wave their finger at someone seconds before, as if to say 'no', then proceeded to wave their hand to the little girls to say 'no'. So it 'could' be that the character was declining requests they can not fulfill. And, does the character have a legal obligation to high five, hug, and acknowledge every single spectator at an event??
@Michael Smith you clearly can not read. Where did I say those little girls did anything wrong? But where is the proof that the character is racist? Not high fiving a child is NOT proof of anything. God is watching all of us my friend...not just white people.
@Michael Smith lol so wow. Now you can't touch peoples hand without being called racist...dam this world is gone....wayyyyy gone. They will have to prove her not touching those kids were of pure racism. And not just say it was.
@Michael Smith what you need to do is stop playing God.you are not God...and you are more importantly NOT my God. Do not sit here and say I have to answer to God like you have a guaranteed spot in Heaven...because you do not. You are sitting here, boldly judging me and my family simply on an opinion that I have here. And you then have audacity to put God into it. For those without ANY sin...be the first to cast a stone... Are YOU without any sin?
They were not ignored. They were told no. Why? Because the girls were reaching over the yellow boundary line to touch the costumed character. You can see the taller girl’s hand move the fur. It appears the shorter girl may even have been standing over the line in the parade path. That is a big no-no at theme parks. It is a safety violation. It is announced prior to and during the parade not to cross the line or reach out to touch the costumed characters. The children must wait for the characters to come to them. Why is this? To maintain crowd control, to avoid a stampede by parade watchers and to keep them from getting pushed into, shoved under and hit by the parade vehicles and other parade performers...like the other performer in the video who is swinging a baton or yo-yo around. I have seen parade characters deliberately wave off children of ALL races, including my own, who are rushing the boundary line. It’s one way the parade characters assist in maintaining crowd control and safety by not rewarding the unsafe behavior. If you notice, they only approach the children who are well behind the line. It’s for the safety of the children, not to be racist. But keep putting your kids in danger to push your racist agenda and payout plan. It’s your children who will pay the price.
Cause racist like you made it that way...why dont you trade place for a month and see how quick you show bunny would complain and tap out... ont everyone live in a safe bubble like you folks...society made sure that poc are treated differently and not equally
First off she doesn’t want money damn idiot she just wants this problem addressed you need to watch the video again because they just released a new video again damn idiot and get your damn facts straight.
Don’t you disrespect me or you won’t like my action on you either and don’t you ever make offensive threats at others on here because if you do you will be reported to RU-vid.
There is a group of people in this country that will see any slight and misfortune as a racial event that requires a payout to rectify. No matter what you say they will never falter on this ideology.
Watch an entire 20 minute long Sesame Place parade like I did. You will see that characters randomly go to the crowd but most of the parade is choreographed dancing.
Indeed the character's actions are disgusting..but I find ironic how the black community cares so much about this petty cases yet at the same time is silent about the black police officer who was murdered in Detroit by a black a man... or the 73 year old man who was killed in Philadelphia by a group of black kids... As I already said, I don't justify the character Rosita's actions... if she was indeed being racist then such person should be fired..but this doesn't change the fact that this is a petty case compared to other serious cases where blacks are murdered by other blacks...
looks like the person was dismissing contact before got near the two kids. Sorry if they percieved otherwise. And no apology is required as the first black lady said. Im pretty sure the ticket does not say everybody will be touched or picked up by characters
This is the dumbest controversy I've ever seen. For this to make any sense at all, there would have to be video that the character consistently greeted White kids and consistently ignored Black kids. But as it is, this short, tight, context-limited clip makes only for garden variety race hustling. They gave an answer after all -- that the "no" hand gesture was simply a response to someone else standing off-camera, trying to hand a child to them for a photo, which is against park rules. That makes total sense. And even if it were some kind of overt Klan-style racism truly behind it all -- and why would such a person choose that job? -- but even then, ignoring the valid explanation given, it would still be a grand total of one person committing the shocking crime of not saying "hi." Mainstream media is giving this story the Covington Catholic treatment. We're sick of it.
They wasn't racist because my friend is black and his daughter along with their friend who was also black was greeted by them. 💯 God bless and shalom 💯❤️❤️
Sesame Street has always been anti-racist. This is disappointing. Of course it’s possible that this isn’t about race but it does look bad. The kids looked so sad. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. :(
Apologies not genuine? They never are from corporate minded people. Apologies are only said to try to avoid penalties. Everyone is blaming a fictional character not the person wearing the costume. The character has nothing to do with it. Who is the person in the costume and was that person wearing the costume penalized by their employer?
There are several issues left out of the story. Those kids crossed the yellow safety line. Characters don't have time to high five everyone and especially time to give hugs to all. Hugging kids who run over the safety line to the parade is likely against the policy since otherwise more kids would run over the safety line if it was encouraged and it would put kids at risk especially when vehicles are near. Person in costume can't see small kids who are too close to greet them and might also trample over them if they are let to run over the safe line to the parade. I bet that most if not all people didn't always get high five, hug or handshake from costume character when they were kids. It happens to kids with all nationalities in every parade and in all fun parks and similar videos could be made of people of every race/nationality. I have always told upset kids that the costume guy/girl likely needed much needed brake due to heat exhaustion or the truth that their job is not to greet and take photos with people even they sometimes do that. Only Santa Clauses, who take photographs with kids, have job descriptions to greet every kid who wait neetly in line. They get to sit all day in air-conditioned room and don't have hot costume so it's a lot easier job to do. Still some kids get left out and sad, unless they wait, since they must keep their lunch and other brakes at some point. Person making the video to prove her kids got left out due to race put other video with it to RU-vid to prove her case. People got really angry at the person in the costume in the 2nd video and defensive of the "mother" even the "kid" was an adult man with a beard, the woman physically attacked the costume guy for not hugging him and even it obviously was a joke/skit as it was.
