For those who don’t watch more than 5 min, this is obviously a bug out involving some sort of mechanized transportation. In no way is this meant to be packed out on the back. Almost every bug out scenario will involve a vehicle. As for EMP’s go buy a burner SUV for about $3k and keep the battery disconnected and in a faraday cage. People spend more on a gun and in this scenario you are not taking multiple firearms.

Bugging out walking with half of that would probably be a death sentence.

If I can offer you some advice. Your chest rig should be attached to your plate carrier. You need a high lumen flashlight w/pouch on your battle belt. You need a radio w/pouch on the plate carrier. You need more pistol mags and pouches on both the plate carrier and battle belt. You need 4 tourniquets per plate carrier and/or battle belt. A fully loaded ouch pouch per plate carrier or battle belt. Repack that main bag, put all of the gear on, as you remove the gear it goes into the bag. The last thing that goes into the bag should be either the plate carrier or the battle belt. Trust me, it’ll make sense as you put the gear on and take it off. I’m speaking from 12 years of experience in the Army, 8 years in the Rangers. You should also pack a few hundred feet of parachute cord, it has many uses. As you’re behind the wheel, you and the Mrs., should each have a pistol and a rifle (each) within reach if needed. You should also consider packing a lensatic compass and topographical maps, and rely less on battery operated gps devices (batteries). If you have to bugout at the last minute, avoid main roads and interstate highway systems. They’re bottleneck traps, you’ll be easy prey for everything you have. Plan routes to get out of town ahead of time. Pick a way so you’re not a victim of bad guys. If you plan on meeting friends or family, pick a place to meet them at ahead of time and move to your bugout location from there.

I wanted to know what you thought about what I am planning. I think the idea of a burner SUV like you said is a very good idea. You might get several. If you get an older suburban if you're handy with a welder and some metal work I've seen guys turn them into basically armored personnel carriers. But I am working on putting together a trailer, a very nice sturdy trailer and basically turn it into my armory. Build in gun racks, shelves for ammo storage etc. Then build out workbench in it where I can work on guns and also reload. The only thing I can see that would be a pain is I would have to control the temperature in the humidity in the trailer. Essentially I want to put together a trailer that would have the bulk of what I need to survive not only firearms but tools etc. Things like shovels, hammers, generator so I can use my cordless and corded tools. I have the idea of modifying the vehicle with another gas tank or two however it works. I have seen people who have vehicles that can essentially drive across United States without having to refuel. Then I would have my wife and a bit smaller vehicle with our camp trailer so that if something horrible happens We can just jump in and go and not waste the energy of packing things. I'm up here in Moscow Idaho and we have quite a Trek down to at least Southeast Idaho or down into Utah where we have relatives. So I would need to be mobile and I feel like I need to be able to be mobile and on the road very quickly. Do you have any thoughts on that? I know there are issues that I thought of. Like somebody driving a modified SUV with a trailer on it following someone driving a good truck with a camp trailer on it. But if you bug out at all you're taking a risk. It's just that my friend and relative group that I would trust is just that far South so I have to have a plan to get down there somehow.

If I'm not mistaken emp is a pulse of electricity, that would fry your boards in your vehicle and other components that run on electricity possibly.. I don't think a vehicle that not like from 60s will survive.

Nice set up, my stuff is packed very similar but I have an empty duffel per family member and a couple empty totes for the pantry. Camping stuff all together in 2 totes, and for protection I’ve decided what stays and what goes. Bugging out isn’t ideal but there might be no choice if there’s a chemical spill, wildfire or UFO’s landing haha. Like you said as much can fit in my truck is going, but have a system of shedding gear in case mode of transport changes. I like that you mentioned family heirlooms photo albums etc. Thanks for another solid video. 🇺🇸

Some food for thought. Invest your dollars into a set of plates that will protect your lives. Stay away from Steel, Spalling is a thing and will incapacitate you quicker than taking a round in the chest with ceramic. Ensure you invest in a Multi-hit plate. You need to train with your equipment- this means going through your evac drills fairly regularly with everything that is in your video. This ensures everyone that's participating knows what they are going when the decision is made to do the thing, there is not a ton of confusion. As far as needing more mag pouches and mags on your kit. No, stay light. Take those extra mags and consolidate them in a small over-the-shoulder (3-day-like) Bag you are able to carry with you. As for a makeshift shelter if you do decide to bug out... Add 1 poncho w/ a hood and grommets (military) and 5 bungee cords with 550 cord as a backup per family member. This is a low-cost shelter that takes seconds to erect and take down. Ensure you have space blankets and Military poncho liners, these can replace that bulky sleep system. Possibly add 1 sleep pad (foam) per family member for sleeping on the ground in case you find yourself in that situation. Have at least one entrenching tool on hand as it is a multi-use, versatile tool that will certainly come in handy. Have a way to start a fire and purify water. This is a Must! Great Video!!!!!!

To me it was clear off the bat that this was a total evacuation plan, above and beyond the utilization of a bug out bag. I also think it’s way over the top and at the extreme level of preparedness and bugging out. That said, however, there were some really good ideas in the video and yeah, I took some notes. The only thing I think was missing, and it likely doesn’t apply in your situation, is gear for pets, but that could replace the kids tote, or be in addition to that piece. Thank you very much for the video! Stay safe.

I also add one of those yard solar lights they charge up during the day and can stick in ground if outside it propped up inside an empty soda bottle if inside. I also have glow stick bra let’s to put on them and their bag if we r moving at night so it’s easier to keep tabs on them and their bag

Im liking it. Me and my wife will be planning to do a dry run of our bugout trip next summer. Our plan is to stay with extended family but they are just over 2000 miles away so a vehicle is absolutely required in our case. Unfortunately we dont have family closer that wouldnt also likely be directly affected by whatever is causing us to bugout and bugging out to the woods seems like a not so well thought out plan for an extended period of time. We live in seattle and even in times of "peace" weve have bullets fly through our apartment walls so she and i both have armor, pistols and rifles. I like your thought process for your bugout gear, honesly didnt even think about the poopbucket lol ill have to look into getting one. We have a german shepherd so im trying to do research to build him a kit as well. Hes been trained in protection and search and rescue so aside from being a major asset in shtf and huge investment in time and money training him hes also a member of the fam so were not going to leave him behind. Any ideas or suggestions? I got him armor, food and water/food bowls and a doggy ifak.
@idahoprepper
@idahoprepper Год назад
That’s awesome, sounds like you, your wife and dog are very well prepared! Love to hear it! My only suggestion would be, since you live in Seattle and think you may have to bug out, to start planning alternative routs out of the city and to your Bugout location .. you can pretty much put together any type of escape route with google earth.. when I lived in California I had 3 escape routes out of my city one which was comprised almost entirely of fire / logging roads.. you’d be surprised how far fire roads will take you if you know where you’re going.. anyways hope that helps. Thanks again for watching!

If I have to bug out, I'm going to bug out in my woods. No kids but three GSD's. I'm not leaving my ammo or gear on the side of the road for some random marauder. Edit: I hope and pray none of us need to ever bug out. Indiana Hoosier. New Sub 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thasnks for watching, yeah I hear you.. I figure gear is either going to be left in a vehicle or left in a home.. I dont think (marauders) will care one way or the other where they take it from?? At the end of the day all we can do is speculate, and hope for the best.. My logic is that it doesnt make sense to cut yourself short in the gear dept. if you dont have to..

New subscriber here so I apologize if you’ve addressed this previously. I’m 77 and live in a rural area in western Pennsylvania more than 70 miles from liberal run cities likely to collapse early during a SHTF situation. My bugout location most likely will be my home. Have you or will you do a video on how you would prepare for such a situation. I’m thinking that for many citizens, bugging in makes more sense than bugging out. Thanks, great videos.

I watched a bug-out scenario video several months back. In that video the victim grabbed a shopping cart for his gear. Even a 30 pound BOB get heavy after 10 or 20 miles. It allowed him to carry his extra gear, extra water, and remain very mobile. Worst case, the cart with all of the extras can be abandoned and you walk away with the BOB.
@ricksargent8754
@ricksargent8754 Год назад
I agree you should take as much as you can if your taking a vehicle. Better to have and not need. Hopefully your evacuation plan has you Taking back roads where you maybe able to stash your gear if you need to go on foot. Leaving it at your house in a collapse situation would probably mean someone else gets it.

Your loadout emphasizes using a vehicle. My plan involves not being able to utilize a vehicle or conditions where the vehicle puts you at risk. If I'm leaving to avoid a weather related calamity, of course the vehicle will be useful. The " bugout " as I envision it will be something that doesn't provide days of advance notice and will likely require a low profile. Good luck.

If you repackaged those #10 cans into mylar bags it would save a ton of space and a little weight, which means more food you can pack for the same/space weight. I think, reliance on a vehicle use in a bug out situation is fairly unrealistic. If the SHTF situation happens, everybody will try to dry their car or SUV on the road, creating huge traffic jams which will eventually force you to your two feet. And then your loads become burdens that are unbearable. In this situation a single wheel carrier or a dual wheel carrier becomes much more efficient and realistic than your truck.
@f.c232
@f.c232 Год назад
wow why do you need all that stuff i believe everyone should have emergency equipment but it's limited to what you can carry (for quick getaways) if you already have a secure local to get to then you should have most of that stuff there already (water, food, extra clothing, tools, ammo ) etc. minimal loads to carry on your back (quick movement) all i carry is (fire, water filter, energy bars for 3 days cause you never know, tarp and protection) just to reach my safe zone

Holy crap. So much unnecessary and GQ gear. We don't have much time left. I think you need to take a vacation from work and play out a real SHTF scenario (within reason, i.e. No guns blazing). I have not only lived through it but dealt with it half my life. I can tell you first hand most of that will go out the window quick fast and in a hurry. So please, take my criticism as construcive. Practice a scenario. turn everything off, grab your gear and go. For as long as you can with just what you have. Then come back and do a after action report, and then double the stress and condition you will have to actually deal with.
