I would recommend joining if you feel that you are mentally and physically capable of it. I would suggest getting a non-combat MOS so that when you get out, you are already trained in a career that would continue in the civilian sector. That won't prevent you from going to war and fighting, though. The possibilities are endless. So if you decide to join, prepare for some hard and challenging years, but the awesome memories along with stories you will tell EVERBODY and the honor of being a serviceman are their own great reward.
