Shepherds and Border Collies make wonderful family dogs. Bright, loyal and loving, great with kids, sweet dispositions and stable temperaments. We lost our 13-year-old Border Collie about eight months ago, still miss her like crazy.
My Childhood Dog Shadow was a Collie/Shephard mix. We lost her 25 years ago yesterday. But she lived for 15 years, 7 months: from when I was 3 to 18 and a half.
I have a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix. She saved me from two men who had been sneaking up behind me while I worked in the yard. She came through the front door, screen door, and a 6ft wooden gate to stop them. Her copious coat blew up, her head down and snarling, she held them stationary. They had to stand in the street, mute, until I got to the gate and called her in.
@@SeansModelBuilds dont forget about labs. They make amazing pets as well, very loving and attentive while also protective. Ill never have another dog like Bailey. R.I.P babygirl
I had a pitbull that did the same thing with me, i was going for a walk and Buddy my pittie pushed me backwards and fkashed ahead and took the strike of a rattlesnake not once but twice he protected me from getting bitten but gave his life to keep me safe. That is loyalty.
@@Yinniz Common sense isn’t so common, which is why the phrase was invented, and to be used just they way you used it. That is, to try to brow-beat others into agreeing with what you have to say. No mention of the vet, only that they had to remove the collar because the dog’s neck swelled so much. It would seem they did not take the dog to a vet.
🤣 Derpy angel's...that is perfect. We had a border collie and she was exactly that. So protective but she would knock the kids down while trying to herd them into the yard.
Years ago, our adopted stray cat got in between me a a scary dog stalking towards me. It was late in the evening and our cat Androcles didn't back down. Dog ran away. Loved that cat.
We had two cats that were the same. They and our border collie were like my daughters little personal security team. We love them and they love us right back!

@@jen30551 - You can’t get better bodyguards than two cats and a border collie! The cats and the dog are on the lookout for different dangers, so, you have your bases covered.
I like the name Androcles for a cat? Isn’t that the name of the Greek hero who pulled a thorn from a lion’s paw? You obviously raised your kitty with lots of affection and attention. You might be interested in a video about Tara the Hero Cat.
We lived in the country and I had two Dobermans to protect the home stead both female. My daughter had just learned to walk. I left the patio door open for the dogs to get out of the rain. As I put my daughter down she took a few steps and the older doberman blocked her from going further and was acting like she was trying to talk, not barking. My younger doberman was jumping through the air back and forth through the open door. I was putting on my shoes but I stood up because of the odd behavior. And there coiled up just inside the door was a huge cotton mouth, spitting its tongue and throwing it's head back over it's body mouth wide open. When I read your story I thought of my daughter and her new son and how much I and my family would have lost. That day I changed as a human. God bless you. Here's to a long and fruitful future with dogs
Dogs are amazing! My lab collie mix saved me and my baby from a charging bull moose that was only 75ft away from us on our walk! The moose stopped and stared at us when we saw each other, the pawed the ground, lowered his head (he had a large rack) and charged! I didn't even know my dog was outside at the time. She ran up and attacked him, chased him into the woods. I grabbed tge baby out of the stroller and ran to the house. My dog didn't come home for 3 hours. I though the moose killed her. She came back okay though.❤ Forever grateful.
My border collie aussie mix grabed my hand on a hike, turned me around and started pulling me down the trail back towards our truck. I was confused, but allowed her to do it. A few yards down the trail I heard a sound, turned, and saw a cougar in the trees were my pup grabbed my hand. If I had gone further, we would have been right under that big cat. I love my pup, and trust her when we hike. If she says, let's leave, we leave. I'm glad this pup, and yours, saved lives.
Our dog protected my younger siblings (3,5)when we were on vacation and he got bit and he also killed the snake. He ended up dying a few hours later. Still the best boy we ever had ❤️ (My siblings were not left unattended. They were a few feet away from us and that s when we heard screams and the dog growling)
People read too much into this, dogs like killing snakes. Dog saw a snake and went after it, baby happened to be nearby. My dogs have killed at least 10 snakes
Dogs are something else. I'm so glad Shiloh is okay. We had a rescue mutt growing up, you couldn't even tell what breeds were in this good boy. He killed two rattlers in our yard, one while my baby brother was outside playing. He left the other rattler dead at the front door. He somehow knew the poisonous snakes from common garden snakes which he left alone. Never got bit, and we were never safer than with that dog. RIP Zaccheus, you were the best boy.
Definitely the genetics of the dog kicked in, an Australian Shepherd is a herding breed, you can see by the way he moves around the kids. He's always making sure the baby doesn't go certain directions it would have been the same as if that dog was out there with a herd of sheep and there was a snake the dog would have I herded of the sheep away from the danger. That dog is amazing to of taken care of his little owner the way he did. That pupper definitely deserves all the good boys and treats.
Shilohs the best! No way that dog didn't save that little ones life or at least severe injury. Dogs as well as other animals react to snake bites venom much differently than humans. Shiloh's a hero man !
Their dog is almost identical to my Aunt's Blue Australian Sheppard. I don't know why, but he weighed about 75 pounds. I owned his nephew and mine only weighed about 50 pounds. But they are very protective of their families.
I had an Aussie, but my mom and stepdad got rid of her. We had her for 2 YEARS and we create a bold in 3 months then all of the sudden they get rid of her forever in my heart Mali. She was very loyal and my only friend.
@@user-we6ee9mr8x Oh man, I feel sorry for you at this moment. I was there, for 49 years an atheist, just knew it was all a load of BS. Then I was woken up, a few supernatural experiences, they certainly make you think, and recognise there's good and evil out there. Subsequently found when I actually read the scriptures and studied them and earth's history, it was impossible to deny there is a Creator and that Jesus did live, die and get resurrected. SO I got baptised, then things went crazy for me, including meeting God physically on earth, attacks by Satan and other really evil things, being taught all of God's laws and publishing that, persuading God to change the course of prophesied things to come, AND forcing God to get rid of Satan. Now, I know you won't believe any of that, but you should look out shortly for a man popping up all over the world doing miracles. You will see videos on yt and eslewhere no doubt. Then governments will begin a worldwide manhunt for that man, but it will be futile, he's God's messenger and future king. Hopefully you will come to believe the truth before 2032, because that's when unbelievers will face God's wrath. 2malachi.com, there's a miracle in a recent blog post, on video, pre-announced.
@@user-we6ee9mr8x gift ( Dictionary )....a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present: So dogs are a gift from chance or nothing. Why do you hate the concept of God.
This was life saving. I've talked with many friends; if the bite is severe, it's bad, and it's also possible to have a severe reaction to anti venum shots.
Shiloh is an Angel Pup and a hero. This was my Husky/Labrador’s name. He just passed away on May 25, 2021. I am devastated. This video shows me that once again, there is no other kind.of dedicated and unconditional love than from a dog. God Bless you sweet Shiloh and your family ! Hugs
So amazing how dogs can sense this kind of danger and feel the duty to take action. I don't believe this is pure instinct, the dog has a sentient awareness of what's happening. Well done, Good Boy!
The Lord certainly got it right when he created the dog! We had a large German sheperd on the farm, during the late 1950's. Rusty wieghed 115lbs, and we also had a large very cross boar hog. This hog was about to overtake a young farmhand and the hog haveing 3 to 4 in. tusks it certainly would have been very serious. Rusty attached himself to the hogs face and the boar commenced to flail the dog about with the dog being completely off the ground a number of times. Ol'e Rusty certainly was the celebrity at the supper table that night! Rusty lived to be 15+1/2 yrs. old.
@@Bezanie The boar was de-tusked as he was a valuable breeder, but was eventually sold. Don't really recall how much longer it was around. Us kids knew it was a mean pig but somehow the hired help had missed the memo.
It depends on the dog. Many larger breeds are pussies 🤣 a chihuahua would keep you safe though.. They just go mental whether it's an animal or a 6'2 man.. They won't back down.
Never ceases to amaze me that we trust our babies with an animal that looks nothing like us, with a mouth full of sharp teeth. Dogs can be horrible and dangerous in the wrong hands, but they can also be the best protector we have ever met. Love my dogs
Beautiful dog. He is bright for sure. One can see he takes the job of minding the baby very seriously. Dogs are the most amazing animals. They are innocent, loving, loyal and good natured. They only become dangerous when their humans teach them to be angry. Dogs pretty accurately reflect their owner's personality. I always look how someone's dog behaves before I take the effort to befriend them.
That's a Australlan Shepard these are great dogs as my son and I have one it's double coat protected it from the bite . they were being bred as shepards in the western US from Old English Sheep dogs and Collies to be able to weather cold climate , they are very smart an easy to train .
Dogs can spark a light in us... Dogs are there for us... Dogs are the loyal and the brave... Dogs give us abilities/Southeastern guide dogs Dogs make us who we are. Dogs train us like we train them. Dogs are gifts that god has given us to make the world a better place... just Like Mali Did Forever in my heart Thank you Mali you gave me love and you made me the way I am to make the world a better place. you really think by going to the vet (which is probably a 15 minute drive on average) is gonna save a dog from chocking? if his airways were truly swollen he wouldve died within the first minute which makes it useless to go to the vet
@@footballstarscompany454 . Place the shoe on the other foot. Would you recommend friends do Nothing if you were in same position as suffering dog? No difference.
I love that she told of how the Lord spoke to her and He said He gave them that dog to protect their baby 💗🙌🏻!!! God loves us and loves our pets. He can work through anything.
@@Yellow4494 yeah honestly idk i was so awful. i meant i like watching hero stories but i'm atheist and i could have definitely worded it better. now i respect religion and opinions
Yes. You can go through anything as long as you have your loyal companion by your side. I lost mine in a year and a half ago, loved her more than anything. She was truly my comfort and my joy after my husband passed .❤️😪
The dog didn’t make himself lol What a dumb thing to think, that the dog saved the kid. God did. God made the dog and you and all. And Gods placed everything in its place even you. …God marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us.” Acts 17:27 The house your in or the shack your in did it make it’s part, did it spring from nothing?
@@trustenbaker8766 So if I were to call you a fool with a wild imagination for believing that everything that happens is the result of magic or supernatural forces, I wouldn't really be speaking with my own voice, right?; "god" put those thoughts in my head, and commanded me to call you an idiot. Makes perfect sense!
@@timberwolfdtproductions3890 If you were looking for “sense” you would listen. “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” Psalm 14 That’s you... a fool.
Why doesn't "God" protect all the innocent children who are starving in third world countries and being maimed and killed in war zones around the world? Oh, I know it must be in his "plan".
@@ktmal1681 lazy? Maybe. But why would I come up with something "interesting" for the sake of a reply? - furthermore, does that negate my reason to comment in the first place? "Oh look: he couldn't come with something unique; guess that must mean his comment holds little relevance." The reason I called you triggered was very simple: these individuals presented in the video are religious, and as per standard with theistic peoples (especially those of Abrahamic religions), they thank God as a term used to describe a fortunate event. Whenever someone thanks God, do you go on a diatribe at every opportune moment? It's a common saying, man - get over it.
Dog bless this family. I had a similar experience in Brasil. A friend's hound dog, Vinni, jumped back from something on the lawn which turned out to be a coral snake in the grass.
The Dog saved your sons life! Loyal pack animals always watch out for eachother. No need to bring in some supernatural explanation. Dogs have been our best friends for over 5,000 years of evolution.
