Thank you for tuning in! This is a regular day for us throughout the summer, but we wouldn't want to be doing anything else! Except maybe fishing as Justin explains at the end
You might have one of the most authentic farming channels out there from what I have seen. Running all makes and models, newer equipment and older equipment is a very realistic representation of what agriculture is. Coming from a smaller/medium size family farm in new Jersey, I find the value in what you are accomplishing. It's awesome and something to aspire to be. Keep it going.
We want more! We want more.... Show us cutting. Add drying. Show us more windrowing. Show more bailing. Show us more. been to long we need more videos. Getting the new trucks was cool but we want more Farming! Signed "Farming Insider Junkie"!
@@FarmingInsider had a reverse 8, 8LL,speed, 9 speed,super 10, and a 15 speed I liked the 9 and the 8LL the best the 15 I drove it like a 9 and didn't use the splitter that much but they all had 3406e except the Mac with the 8 LL it had a 460 e7
Can the bundle handler swivel the load so the approach doesn't have to be perfect? Seems like that would be handy. Great video--wish you posted more often!
Yes sir you can be off quite a bit depending on your direction. I’m trying to! We just truly get so flipping busy, but I need to set aside a little bit of time more often. We have some awesome viewers
Wow that a lot of men and machinery working! Do you worry about the fire risk all that hay in one barn. So very dry here in the Uk fires all over the place ☹️
Ahh, yes of course we worry but we do our best to make sure the hay is as dry as possible before baling. We would like to put up a couple more barns in the future, but we have to work with what we have at the moment
Great video! Question…why don’t you cross stack in the barn to tie stacks together to help prevent tipping? Keep up the great work! This old farm boy loves seeing young men farming!
Thank you sir! They aren’t uniformly sized in both directions so it becomes a bit of an issue when trying to do that. 3 bundles wide is slightly longer than 1 bundle long
Awesome video we will be getting some custom bundling done with a d14 how long do you make your bale's and is there anything else I need to know for baling Infront of a multi pack d14?
We make them about 34 inches. It can handle anywhere from like 28 inches to 4ft. My biggest advice is just make a consistent length, tight bale. Consistency is gonna be the most important thing. Try not to be in too much of a hurry baling
My dad and I keep meaning to get the boat out and do some fishing but it hasn't come to fruition in awhile lol. Justin goes fairly often up to Lake Erie when work isn't calling his name. You don't like the walleye game?
What model are your Kuhn hay rakes you guys run? everything here in the uk is geared for the big balers. Trying to find something that pulls in two rows at a time and can produce a row our balers can keep up with in the heavy crops we have
What made you choose the massey balers over new holland? Looking for a new baler in the near future. Have always had new hollands and have been happy but seems like more people are switching to inline balers. Thanks
We ran new hollands about a decade ago and struggled with the type of consistent bale we wanted. These inlines spit out the exact same bale every time. No banana bales, no weird stuffer adjustments for size of windrows or anything. They just perform
The Massey’s stay running pretty well. They are all on the newer end so we haven’t had many problems. The balers get a professional once over in the winter and things have been smooth.
I have never heard of that lite of a bail of hay. I would never buy on that lite. Our bail were always 75 to 90 lbs Boy has times changed Sounds like to me the buy is getting ripped
Observation: Your flat paddocks look like you measure in 100's of acres. I am in hill country. and measure my flats in single acres. We certainly can't run trailers as big as yours.
I only video our biggest fields haha. We have plenty in the smaller range. None are measured in 100s of acres tho I assure you. The biggest contiguous piece of hay land we farm is 156 acres
@@FarmingInsider but they love to have a lot of hay. put in them. i just baled a little field. i baled 900 bales in 2 hours. without any breaking.any and it could of handled more. they are great balers but they have a lot of guards. that was a great video.
Would you mind to post photos of the Agri King applicator that you have installed on your 1840 baler I would like to get this setup on my baler ? Thank you.
Only one was left in barn were crashing walls in medal building do a lot of damage. And not stacked correctly be bad. Then he could be out in sun and duster. Lol farmer knows workers and workers know farm.lol
I was complementing the farmer knowing who to leave by self with equipment that can crash in a tight area. And no he likes it in barn as hot dusty doing other job. Basocly saying good man by self and he was left there as good planning who could crash in a tight area and could make stack a mess. Basicly you know who is best and he new were he wanted to work a nitch he likes and trusted to do it and a good job.
@@ronaldpiper4812 oh right on. Justin (the guy in the barn usually) is extremely good at the stacks and takes a lot of pride in them and keeping the barn tidy. He’ll occasionally let me swap in for him but he does a great job and usually likes to see it through. How the bales enter the barn usually sets the tone for how well they will pull out the next 11-12 months.
@@FarmingInsider I apologize for trying to tell you what to do, but you see, I'm 78 and grew up next to a small dairy farm in Ohio. I handle a lot of hay and straw and worked with different kinds of animals. I worked hard, but I enjoyed it more than anything I've ever done. I watch a lot of farm and homestead videos on my phone... and they bring back so fine memories. Anyway, I'm sorry.
If you pay closer attention, the music typically accompanies only drone footage, when “natural” farm sounds wouldn’t be captured anyway. Just my two cents.
