Is it me or does Ray Combs seem like he is genuine in his actions and interactions with the two contestants? He really seems like he wants them to win the money.
You can tell he did. With the second contestant and the confusion over the material to be dry cleaned Ray says material second time at the end of the question to emphasize what they're looking for. If he didn't care he wouldn't have done that.
Yeah, really underrated. Only guy better than Combs since Dawson would be the big man himself: Louis Anderson! Wait, wait...says here it’s Steve Harvey!
That was some great hosting. He flubbed a bit reading the questions but his energy was perfect. He had that family and the audience pumped the eff up. It was 25 years ago or so; I already KNEW the outcome but I still had goosebumps when he yelled "WHAT'D THE SURVEY SAY??"
A very very sad, strange, tragic and bizarre end to Ray Combs life. Committed suicide by hanging himself on 6/2/1996 at age 40. Poor guy was quietly battling depression. Who ever thought behind that great smile and great looks was a very troubled man. May he R.I.P.
zhbvenkhoReload yup leaving his wife and kids with a mountain of debt. He had 2 comedy clubs that flopped, bad business dealings, house was in foreclosure, and his wife was planning to divorce him. Guess that's what led to his suicide.
studywar Not only is that amount taxed, but it is also presumably split into five ways. Assuming the amount is evenly divided between them, each person would receive less than $2 000 dollars, which is hardly anything.
@@Supermario0727 Shit, who cares?!? You're on a fucking game show and you just made an insane comeback to win the son of a bitch. i'd be celebrating my ass off too.
Not only that, but people used to win the grand prize all by themselves. Nowadays it seems even if you put all five people on fast money they still won't win it
Everyone complaining "oh, it's only 10k" - understand in the late 80s money went A LOT FURTHER. Sure, 10k is maybe ~22k in today's dollars, but back then overall cost of living was LESS. Winning 10k - even after taxes - could be a lot more impactful to a family than it is now.
I was actually happy that he won 10,000 dollars. not much now, but back then it was quite a bit. He was so happy, and his happiness made me happy. I hope he lived a long happy life.
Wow what a comeback that the second contestant got 178 points even though he missed the first one the last four answers got his family the money well done sir
This has to be the greatest comeback of all time on the Family Feud, if you see one better than this share it with me. Ray Combs is my favorite host all time of Family Feud, and this might be unpopular but I was one of the few who enjoyed the Bullseye years
If you listen to the last 20 seconds of the video or so, blindfolded, and not knowing the context, it literally sounds like people or animals being tortured.
Not necessarily. The last guy needed 38 points on the final question, & the 1st guy gave a 34-point answer for that question. Technically, it was still possible for them to lose
