Love the horn section to this theme! Also love how to this day, the last few bars are still used on "The Price is Right" to announce somebody's playing the Grand Game for $10,000!
GENE WOOD: Presenting five luscious beauties of Miss Universe: Miss Universe 1990 Mona Grudt , Miss Universe 1988 Porntip Nakhirunkhanok, Miss Universe 1964 Corrina Fields, Miss Universe 1978 Margaret Gardiner and Miss Universe 1989 Angela Visser! Ready for action!
This is a studio band most likely recorded in L.A. Definitely real musicians, and good ones. These guys played the session once and then rode it to the bank with residuals. Great T.V. show theme.
Allow me to correct the years used... This theme was from 1988 - 1994, 2003, 2008 - present. I heard it on many Richard Karn episodes from early 2003. It went back to the 1999 theme after 2004.
***** I appreciate that theme, not only with 1988-1994 Combs theme, but also all party-remixed theme including opening themes, main themes, face-off musics, round-winning musics, entering commercial break musics, returning from commercial musics, fast money music (transition from the first player to a second player), a fast money winning music and closing themes, all of them composed by John Lewis Parker from 1999 to early 2008. All I hope is for 17th season on September 14th 2015 will use Richard Karn cues from 2003-2006 and also a new host was an actress. However, it will still remains episodes used 2008 Ray Combs theme when Steve Harvey still hosting.
Introducing Hendrick Motorsports Jeff, Jimmie, Kasey, Dale Jr, and Chase, READY FOR ACTION! Going up against Penske Racing Brad, Joey,Roger,Paul And Todd ON YOUR MARKS! LET'S START... THE FAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIILY FEEEEEEEEEEEUUUUUUUUD! With the star of Family Feud... RAY COMBS!
Family Feud is one of my favourite game shows on TV. Richard Dawson, Ray Combs, and currently Steve Harvey are my favourite hosts of the said game show. I also watched it in the Philippines. Primetime King Dingdong Dantes himself is the host of the Filipino franchise of Family Feud on GMA before 24 Oras.
1:03 I remember this at the end of the Chase vs Blanks competition when Richard Karn said "Danielle, I'm sorry. You guys were great. Good competitors. Ian. (Imitates a weird buzz sound neigh) I don't know what made that horse made that sound." Then he asked the Blanks who would play and Jerry and Sharon, like with their next two wins thereafter, would come out to play. I miss seeing that ep and that music at competition's end there!
Ray Combs was always my favorite and this was always my favorite theme, 'course this theme, the one preceding it, and the one today are all in the same ballpark, with the exception of a few synthesizing/pacing or whatever, which doesn't really matter much.
Ladies and gentlemen! I have a message to you guys! The 17th season on September 14th 2015 will use Richard Karn cues from 2003-2006 and also a new host was an actress. However, it will still remains episodes used 2008 Ray Combs theme when Steve Harvey still hosting.
When Richard Dawson came back in 94,he had a jazzy theme, when Louie Anderson hosted Family Feud between the years of 1999 to 2002,he had a good theme song, and a nice answer board.

Hey, I need you to post all of Family Feud party-remixed themes including opening themes, main themes, face-off musics, round-winning musics, entering commercial break musics, returning from commercial musics, fast money music (transition from the first player to a second player), a fast money winning music and closing themes, all of them composed by John Lewis Parker from Louie Anderson, Richard Karn and John O'Hurley before his third season. All I need is Family Feud party-remixed themes before 2008
They're using this theme currently, They started using it again when John O-Hurley hosted, and now it's used for Steve Harvey's theme, wish they started using the 1994-95 theme "nothing wrong with this one"
Here are lyrics for Freemantle Media and the Feud producers about the lack of usage of 0:40 on the current version: You should, use this portion. But they’d rather loop the theme. You should (use this!) On the air (again) Put this (this part) On the air (again). Why can’t you see? … That you should… Fix it up… And use this portion!!!

If I had to rank the Family Feud hosts from my favorite to least favorite it would look like this: 1. Ray Combs 2. Steve Harvey 3. Richard Dawson 4. John O'Hurley 5. Richard Karn 6. Louie Anderson To be fair, the only host I really didn't like was Louie Anderson. And I wasn't a huge Karn fan either. But other than that, the other four hosts are pretty much equal, with Combs and Harvey being the standouts.
"Seattlecarnut": After Family Feud adapted this theme for Ray Combs, they should never have messed with it. I don't like the theme used for Anderson, the majority of Karn and the first few seasons of O'Hurley.
It was a perfect storm for him, because in 1994, after the death of Mark Goodson, he was fired by Mark Goodson Productions. Their reason was because they wanted to bring back Richard Dawson for the upcoming syndicated run, which was cancelled (alongside it's sister show, The New Price is Right) in 1995. Afterwards, Ray would go on to host The Ray Combs Show, which was cancelled not too long after, which was around the time his comedy clubs were tanking and he had to file for bankruptcy. Soon after, he was given a second chance with the abysmal Family Challenge, which he was fired from after only one season. Not only that, his wife divorced him and basically took everything from him. Then one day, he was smashing his face in the driveway of his home, which prompted his now ex-wife to call the police and take him into custody. Once he was admitted to the local mental institution, it was there that he hung himself in a closet with his own bed sheets. It's really sad, because CBS nor Mark Goodson Productions gave two shits about the poor guy after he was fired. My only wonder is why his mentor, Bob Barker, didn't try to help him when his life was falling apart... I'm sorry, but that perfect storm can be summed up by his famous last words from the series finale of Family Feud (Combs Era)... "You know, I've done this show for six years, and this could be the first time we've someone who got no points, and I think it's a damn fine way to go out. I thought I was a loser until you walked up! You make a feel like a man!"
My idea of an opening spiel: Let's meet the (family's name) family. Ready for action! Playing against the (family's name) family. On your marks! Let's start the Family Feud! With the star of Family Feud, STEVE HARVEY!!
