Daft Punk started making music when I was 2 years old, and they wore the helmets because they didn't want to become celebrities. They wanted it to be about the music. Goddamn legends.
@@commanderzavala9328 How many people who like "Daft Punk" even know the pair's real names? Or could recognize their faces? Don't sound like sellouts to me. Sounds like they turned something they loved into a career, and got paid well for it because lots of other people loved it too.
The accent and the "hon hon hon" are coming from Maurice Chevalier. He regulary toured in the US in the 30s and 50s. Pepe Le Pew is also based on him. He's dead for 49 years. And yet, American still think we say "hon hon hon"
They’re criticizing the Grammies by saying Daft Punks music is too simple to deserve a Grammy, so they are insulting both. I’d love to find the Casio keyboard that had Touch as its demo tune though...
I don’t think they are insulting either I just believe there mentioning they have a lot of Grammys, I mean there is an episode where Bryan Cranston (yes the real one) sneezes and gets an Emmy I just believe it’s a respect towards there talent but maybe I’m wrong
@@BryantheArchivist Your ignorance is no reflection on a band's performance. When I was young and knew nothing I could only name two Queen songs that were memorable.

To be honest, House music is not my cup of tea but I liked some of their songs ...very few of them. Some of their early stuff are just alarm clock music ...for real
@@hyronharrison8127 it's mostly a timing thing. Daft Punk announced last week that they were breaking up. As there was no warning ahead of time, fans are still adjusting to that. I was a casual listener, but my sons are really into them, and were both surprised and sad to hear the news. Also- I realize you were being derisive, but not knowing a context doesn't make you an uncultured swine. . 😉 When you don't understand something, and ask for more information/ details/ context, it's a positive thing, in my book.
@@heathercutler5114 The one time I was anticipating ridicule, I instead get wholehearted education and kindness! (My youtube must be broken! Haha). Thanks for being good-spirited!
youtube has a disgusting sense of humor to us Daft punk fans. Edit: 2 years later, holy shit, I'm top comment, theres more likes than I have views AND subs combined.
the algorithm just works, before i just used to look at the recommended page seldomly and always looked at subscriptions, once you go recommended section it is hard to go back.
i think the algorithm is controlled by us the users. it could be based on what people search and what content they consume, then it just recommends stuff to people who consume similar content
not only are they not dead, but it's more than likely that they'll do a reunion tour or some shit in a few years. They're like, 30 (47, not that old for musicians I suppose), they've got time lmao.
I think daft punk are very weirdly significant and very iconic, like one of the best groups of the past 30 years definitely, even with 4 albums, from what they were to what they became is amazing
I love that this implies even before making music they were always just two funky robot dudes. Which the epilogue confirms that they, indeed, were always just two funky robot dudes. With self destruct buttons for some reason.
Lol I get that it's a joke and all and it is pretty funny (I love Family Guy) but I hope no one takes it seriously. The amount of sheer engineering that goes into creating an album like RAM is crazy. When I listen to it on vinyl, it sounds like I'm in heaven or something.
@@andyavisand Random access memories is their last album and it’s a kind of tribute to electronic music in general, but yes it sounds like a computer joke
If you're of a certain age they basically were the soundtrack to your youth. When I was a young man, "all around the world" was what was played in every pub, club and bar to get people on their feet. Time and tastes move on. And acts like Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx and so on were a product of their time. Like Guns and Roses & Poison, Like the Pistols and the buzzcocks, the Beatles and the stones and so on. I suspect that Daft Punk may have failed to mention their frenchness at the time because in the early 90s, you thought "mainland europe" and thought of lightweight eurobeat pop. Daft Punk for all their inherent geeky quirkiness were serious musical composers, very different from many electronic bands around at the time.
