To answer your question as to why Lois married Peter was essentially she was drawn to how different and wild he was as her parents and family expected her to marry someone from their upper class world but Lois had no interest in them and Peter when they were dating literally did try to make a effort with Lois
I haven’t seen this episode in soooo long and yet instantly I can quote the entire episode. My neighbor had the DVDs from when FG got cancelled the first time and I was like 13, I memorized these episodes. “This really separates the men from the boys.” The I’m a tumor song. “THE DAY IM CORRECTED BY A RE-..” all quotes that live rent free in my head. This episode is first 4 seasons top tier
Yep. As funny as htis episode was/is, this was the first catalyst that brought the flanderization of the characters that would get worse with each season that came after.
The long ep with the gathering at James Woods mansion? That's a god damn masterpiece, funny as hell without cutaways and a really gripping plot...and Quagmire bringing the love of his life there, top 5 all time for me. A high concept they far too rarely exploit, long episodes with serious tone and good Plot.
The Older I get the less funny the show is. As a kid I thought this was hilarious, now I keep remembering the South Park Manatee Ball thing everytime. The Firetruck/wilderness documentary joke is legit that. No point or logic to it. Funny to Child me but now I understand why its hated
Yeah, family guy was like.. try hard edgyness with no substance. ESPECIALLY anything after Season 7. I still like some of the earlier random-ness and funny sarcastic voices of peter and brian. The show is just gross and miserable and dark now.
Great that Matt and Treys incessant, bitter constant bitching about how comedy should function since all jokes in all shows and movies must stem from the plot regardless if the material is funny, glad that opened your eyes. Alot of cutaways are trash, most episodes are indistinguishble and South Park goes so hard on satire,it comes full circle and the point has been driven home with a sledgehammer. Comedy can be more than one thing and I never got their pissing contest and being so hurt over cutaways like even fans of the show didn't agree.
@@christofferjenzen78 I think the bitterness mostly stems from Family obviously being a rip-off. I'm actually a huge fan of American Dad. So clearly they are able to make what I think is better, it's a matter of taste in the end. And to be fair, Family Guy got better in late seasons while the Simpsons in now a copy of family guy.
@@ReeN1995 Well, that I fully support,American is one of my favourite shows of all time, all categories and the new season can't come soon enough. A good example of relying on a sitcom formula and then letting it go batshit about halfway through, depend on strong storytelling and good jokes.
