When I first watched this on TV, my dad was in the room on the computer, hyper focused. But then he heard this question being asked, actually thought it was me asking it, sighs and says “No” annoyed. My dad then turned to me and began listing the dwarves names as Peter fell down the stairs, completely oblivious that it was the cartoon asking the question before I told him. It made the scene funnier.
The fact that Lois keeps the stairs as long as she does when Peter is inflicting a lot of pain going down but when Stewie gets a splinter, the stairs needed to change. Ah, genius writing.
I bet Lois waxed those stairs every day, hoping one of those days Peter would die, but then chose to replace the stairs in the end because it was getting suspicious.
@@h5skb4ru41 Lois knows Peter is incapable of being careful and not-stupid for a second, even when he's trying. The children, the baby and the dog have better coordination than Peter
The best thing about this gag is that Peter wasn't trying to get their old stair wood back doing that on purpose, he was legitimaly trying to be careful coming down the stairs, but I guess the animators really wanted to have their fun here
Everyone commenting about Peter falling off the stairs and him being able to speak Morse code , like damn I wish I could speak Morse code , to understand what’s he’s saying
We’re all forgetting the most important questions: How the hell does he get back upstairs, did anyone else in the family slip and fall, and why does he go back upstairs and ensures that keeps happening?
I saw The Blind Side more than once and it had me dying laughing in tears! Each and every time! For some reason, I find the censors in this episode to be a thousand times more hilarious with those bleeps cutting out every word Peter says, especially the cutaway with those blinds! This is honestly my most favorite #1 episode of all time in Family Guy!
The fact that he falls different and has different beep intervals every time is what makes these scenes gold, nothing super clever besides the reoccurring insanity of Peter being subjugated to the wrath of his stairs . Good Ol' Slapstick
I love that they were so confident in the stairs joke that they just handwaved the geometry of Stewie's doorway relative to the staircase not ten seconds apart.
2:02 The camera is adjusted so that you can see Stewie's crib at an angle and a door right behind Peter on the far wall. The next clip showing Peter has the camera in a different spot where you can only see the footboard of the crib, signifying that we are looking into the upstairs hall area at a different angle. This is why we can now see the stairs instead of the door.
Straight up I have PTSD from falling down my basement stairs one time. Weren't new or anything, I just slipped and fell down on my ass and roughly slide down them. Now every time I go down a staircase I need to hold onto something or go down slowly.
When Stewie was talking to Brian when the next clip played, it sounded like he said "D'oh." And that's how you know that visit to Springfield affected him. 2:18
I honestly feel so gross and crappy today, and this comment made me laugh so hard, we never see Peter so upset, he sounds like a child talking to his mom XD
He was gliding his right foot. Because the stairs was replaced, his foot went up causing his body to fall on his back which also caused him to fall down the stairs.
One of the best things Family Guy has ever done. Back when it used to be so good! This scene never fails to make me laugh no matter how many times I watch it. 😂
Me being as careful as I possibly can: *falls anyway* Someone else: you need to be more careful Me: F*** YOU! I TRIED THAT! Surprised Peter didnt say that. I would have.
